Pru Warren (who is writing this in the third person as if simply too modest to toot her own horn) bores easily and thus has been a daydreamer since roughly the Bronze Age.

She is addicted to writing romcoms because in a novel, you can make things come out the right way. Life and karma really ought to take note. There are better solutions to these pesky daily annoyances!

Besides her in-the-laptop god complex, Pru laughs often and easily, loathes cooking, and plays way too much solitaire. She’s plotting world domination even as you read this, as long as she doesn’t have to wake up too early to accomplish it.

What an utterly charming holiday story. When eight students at a small performance college volunteer to stage a Christmas pageant for homeless families, they find themselves bonding rather quickly. Each brings their particular expertise to the production. Elliott, finds himself as Director, Darcy and Rafi are the dancers, Savannah. Jefferson and Gregory are the actors, Aimee manages the wardrobe and props, and finally Liz for light and sound.

Friendships and alliances form, romance sweetens the pot for Elliott and Darcy. Elliot is gangly and awkward and secretly in love with Darcy. Darcy is sweet and knows her limitations but you can't help but root for their HEA. Falling in love is easy. Working through our own issues can sometimes put road blocks in your way. But leave it to the wonder and delight of children to open our eyes.

I enjoyed how they integrated the families and found their own fulfillment of helping others. They learned to be nimble but to work collectively as a team. This story will leave you with a smile on your face.

This is a feel good, heart is full, holiday romance, with a touch of spiciness. Pru Warren usually writes laugh out loud rom-coms. This one isn't as funny, but it absolutely made me feel the holiday spirit.

Eight college students get a thrilling opportunity to put on a play at the home of Broadway legends. The students have few guidelines and a lot of leeway. There are some bumps along the road, particularly in the bus ride to the venue. Once they get there, they find a wonderland for families. The Christmas show is being put on for the benefit of homeless families.

In the group of students, you have a talented bunch. They are creative, excited for such an opportunity, and open to sharing their love of people and performance. They handle every challenge with grace.

Pru wraps up the story with some interesting insights that I certainly didn't figure out on my own.

This is a fairly quick read that should be on your list of holiday reads this year.

This author knows how to draw the reader into the story. I opened the book, began reading and surfaced with the thought: "Where are all the people? Where is the barn? The pageant can't be over yet!" This story was steamy, emotionally conflicted and downright adorable. The little dancers and danseurs preparing to star in the pageant - so cute! Unfortunately, this is fiction and not something that I expect to happen to me anytime soon (darnnit!). If it were not for Elliot and Darcy actually getting properly acquainted, I would recommend this for the very young. Due to that scene, my recommendation is that is for the young-at-heart (over age 17 would be good).

I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Graceful vs clumsy, holiday cheer, self confidence, with a bit of spice thrown in. This book was great, the only thing I wished is that it would have been longer!

This is the first book in the series, no need to have read any other works by this author. Is a complete stand alone. But once you read this you will want to read all of her books! We get glimpses of the next couple and I can't wait!
