I hate this bloodline "blooming" stuff still but seeing Taiyo going through the tests was pretty fun. Interesting ways to challenge him without being lethal, making use of supporting cast members like the elder Yozakura siblings, showing Taiyo's mind in using work-arounds to counter their powers, and the way each sibling directly ties into Taiyo's motivations. Each battle felt like it was altering the status quo of the family and providing a new ground to explore their relationships going forward instead of being a simple pass/fail against new characters.

Not going to lie, I was dead tired and pretty drunk when I read the first two-thirds of this volume. Happy Juneteenth, as it were.

This volume kicks off with Mutsumi's grandma or whatever helping Taiyo uncover some power or something, by opening a super-secret book that I can't remember if we saw anything of. Then began another exam arc. Three proctors, all being Yozakura siblings. I do not remember how Shinzo or Futaba were defeated. The Kyoichiro battle I was sober for, reading it the next night. It was pretty good. Taiyo gets a power-up through Tsubomi. Maybe he used this against the scientist guy earlier, I don't remember.

I should probably actually just drop this, but I'm stubborn 乁 ˘ o ˘ ㄏ

Btw, VIZ are doing that thing where they don't know if a character is a boy or girl so they play it safe with "them" because this is America and we can't just go out and ask a (fictional) person's gender.

Taiyo is having dreams and the first head of Yozakura family asks to be killed. There are 2 things to achieve it. First is to open her diary which is at a lower room and second is to get the Silver Spy Rank. To get the Siler spy rank he has to pass 3 levels. In each level the examiner needs to sign after passing the test. This time's examiner's are the famous first 3 siblings of the Yozakura family who have Gold rank. With knowledge and practice he passes all the tests and gets promoted to Silver rank. During the test his relationship with Mutsumi and other siblings have been shown which is a deep bond. He is very lucky to get such brothers and sisters. The most annoying is Kyoichiro but he too is likeable sometimes.

I seem to have lost interest in the story and reading it just to see if they can regain it. I think the bloom power has just made the story to fantastical. It went from cute and interesting to seriously, why would you make their blood so overpowered.

Impossible training test trope, check. Also, possible final challenge posed.
