From the depths of space, a mystery emerges. When a research station near Titan detects a mysterious object, Earth's factions scramble to investigate. It came from nowhere, appearing in an instant. Optical feeds show a spaceship, though it is far larger than anything humanity has built. Tech Sergeant James "Jim" Black is a squad leader in the United States Espatiers, the spacebourne warriors who fight pirates, counter terror, and defend the United States's space colonies. Fresh off a mission that devastated his platoon, their understrength force is dispatched to investigate the ship ahead of the US's rivals. He'll need all his training and every tool at his disposal, as his platoon clashes with deadly enemies while trying to solve the mystery of the powerful vessel. Where did it come from? and Why?This novel was a purely human endeavor, no AI at all.
I thought it was a decent story. Good action and a believable background of international conflict and competition. Military action was well done. BUT, it was so poorly edited that I found it to be a distraction. There were misspellings, incorrect punctuation, garbled sentences, and grammatical errors. I wondered if it was an attempt at having an AI do the editing. I took away a star due to how the poor editing interfered with my enjoyment.
I like any space marine saga and I like a good series start. This one is both it has a big space ship it has Americans vs Russians vs Chinese vs evil government guy and evil corporation guys, it’s got it all
