What a pleasant story!

This was a short (only 49 pages) story that captivated me from start to finish. A recently divorced mother and her two children, due to financial constraints, have to move far away from their home and into an old and dilapidated house. This particular house is the home of two former tenants who are now haunting the property. However, these are not scary ghosts and end up making friends with the children before passing on to wherever spirits are meant to go. A non scary, non sentimental, short story that just resonated with me for some unknown reason. I really liked it!

Sweet and friendly with some sad moments... I enjoyed this little tale :) not overally spooky , but enough to get that zing down my spine.

Didn't have an opinion on Frederick at first but he grew on me throughout the story and his revelation at the end... without spoilers I'll say I had two different feelings going on at the same time.

Only quibble, would have loved for it to be longer and more interaction between Fredrick and Lucy but that's all :)

Lucy. .. loved her character and I wanted to hug her many times. Would have loved to read a diary on all her experiences in the house.. that would've been interesting.

Would recommend 👌:)

A Sweet Ghost Story

Leave it to Middle Falls ghosts to be sweet and friendly! Hoping to wrote a fuller review tomorrow but I will say... Shawn Inmon only ever disappoints as an author if you pick up one of his books thinking you'll be able to put it down and go to sleep at some point.:) Luckily this short story didn't keep me up too much past bedtime.

Just ok. Maybe too short or too basic, not sure which. The beginning of the story gave me hope for more insight into the Middle Falls phenomenon of repeating lives, but there really was none.

⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love a good ghost story, and this one was quite sweet.

I liked the characters, even Eddie, the moody teenager 😂. I can understand why Frederick was miserable after being stuck as a ghost for so many years.

Lucy was kind, and I'm glad that she finally found out what happened to her when she was still alive and how she died.

It was nice to see the ghosts find closure and move on to wherever they go next.

I was expecting this book to be spookier, but the pacing was good, and I did like it.

I listened to this on audible. I enjoy short stories and having this one related to his Middle Falls series was the reason I listened/read it. It made me think deeply about Middle Falls and what happens to people there and why some were tethered and why some had other experiences. It was a nice addition to the series and I got to " visit" Artie's and Rebecca Wright briefly and connect to the main stories without having another in depth book to read. I'd love to have several more short stories because I do love and enjoy reading often but sometimes I have other things to do and can't read as much as I'd like so being short helps me manage my day better. I thought the lady who was the narrator was pretty good, usually I choose to read myself rather than audio but I have been venturing into audible more and more, ( I'm quite " picky" or "sensitive" to narrators so I don't use it much and rely heavily on samples to know if I'll be able to stand listening to them, but whoever this narrator was, I thought she did a really good job) . This is a long review for such a short story so I'll sum it up and say I recommend it to people who already love Middle Falls.

Frankie, Eddie and their mom have just moved into a run-down house. On the second day there Frankie sees and hears something. Lucy and Frederick are two ghosts who inhabit the house. Some people when they die are tethered to a house for some unknown reason. That is why Lucy and Frederick are still here. After Frankie and Eddie begin to see Lucy they set off trying to figure out why she and Frederick are still stuck in the house. This was a short story, but none the less a great story. I love short stories because the author has to have what I call tight writing. They have to tell a story as well as any novel in a shorter amount of words. This author is one I am looking forward to reading more of their work. Excellent job.

A haunted house in Middle Falls

When a young family (mother, daughter and son) moved to a huge old mansion, the only rental they could afford, the young girl discovered a spirit trapped in the old house. The spirit of a young girl was quickly seen by the daughter. They became friends as they discovered the house's secrets.

The kids are excellent characters, while Mom is more of a Charles Shultz' Peanuts type adult character. The storyline was excellent though brief. Short story, after all. It is a great little read.

Too simple.’

It amazes me that this author has such a vivid imagination in some stories, then in others seems to have none….?

Story’s create a draw from angst or difficulties in the lives of the characters, but even tho he starts out with the son not communicating bcuz he’s troubled, everything is peachy keen in their lives, sadly I don’t find it interesting. Short doesn’t mean empty.

Excellent short read

Short and kind of sad story, but the ending was better. Lucy was an interesting character, and it was very cool how first Frankie and then her brother could see her and help her figure out why she was stuck in the house. I'm glad she finally got out; Frederick, too.

Thanks Shawn. I like your easy reading style of writing. Unfortunately, I’m not as big a fan of reading short stories as you are in writing them. I much rather sink my teeth into a full length novel. But this will have to serve as my Shawn Inmon fix as I hungrily wait for the release of the Middle Falls Time Travel #19 in my all time favorite time travel series.

Shawn Inmon has written yet another entertaing book. His imagination pours out onto the pages in such a way we can see what is on his mind while he is writing. "Tethered" is a fun story, a spooky story and worth reading.

What can I say, Shawn Inmon never fails to deliver. This additional facet of the Middle Falls universe just shows again the imagination that he exhibits. I’ve never read a bad or boring book by Shawn.

I've read other books by Mr. Inmon

This is not a book. It's a synopsis...a summary. I'm not sure how I can write the required eleven more words because there is so little to write about.

A Short ghost story

The characters were pleasant and nothing was scary about the ghosts. It was an easy story to read. The only thing I question was how servants could be held captive easily in modern times. Someone would have noticed.

Very excited to see this other path for the people of Middle Falls emerge! Enjoyed the people and the story. My only complaint is that it was too short. I hope this is the beginning of many tethered tales.

Great Ghost Story!

Usually I don't like such short stories, but this one was quite good. I've always liked ghost stories and I think whoever picks up this book will be very happy they did. Thanks Shawn!

This authors books are all excellent.

I've not had time to read this most likely supern short story yet, I will later, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't actually worthy of 6 stars!

A cozy haunting set in Middle Falls!

This is tied to the Middle Falls universe but also standalone. Loved the characters, including the ghosts. Not a scary read. Loved it.

I’m addicted to everything Middle Falls!

I only wish the story had been longer! Maybe Lucy could have another chance and save herself and her mom.

A short little story and very easy to read. This time Shawn has taken us into Ghost territory and away from time travel. It's certainly worth an hour or so of your time. Middle Falls does it again.

A Nice Children’s Story

I read this short story after it was recommended by Shawn Inmon. It was a rainy afternoon and dark. A perfect day for a ghost story.

As a premise that hasn't been explored yet in the MF series, it's a great idea. Execution could have been better. Still love the series.
