When 'I Do' Turns Into 'Whodunnit?'
Wedding planning is tough, but it's even harder when you're a PI investigating a high-stakes murder. The moment a model turns up dead at the bridal expo, my to-do list gets a lot more complicated.
As if finding a new venue weren't urgent enough-thanks to a fire that turned our dream location into a smoky ruin-I've also got some rather insistent ghosts clamoring for resolution.
Piecing together betrayals, secrets, and a list of suspects as varied as my wedding playlist, time is running out.
With matrimony and mystery both on the line, the stakes couldn't be higher. In this deadly game of vows and villains, will I make it to "I do" or will 'til death do us part' become all too literal?
Dive into a world where wedding veils and police tape go hand-in-hand. Will you RSVP to this unmissable mystery?

I was so happy to be back in Audrey’s world, I dived into this immediately even before finishing the book I was reading, which I very rarely do. Audrey’s wedding is in two days, but she can’t seem to keep from getting involved with ghosts and murder. This was so darn fun just like all the books before it. Just because Audrey gets hitched at the end of this one, I really hope this isn’t the last we’ll see of her. She’s just so lively and fun. This latest, and hopefully not last, installment is well-written, fun, and has an intriguing mystery. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

Another fun instalment in the Ghost Detective series with Audrey and her Ghosts. With just a few days until Audrey and Kade's wedding, they are eager to get to the bottom of a murder which occurred at the Wedding Expo. But on top of this, things just keep going wrong with the wedding organisation. But Seb to the rescue (Audreys next door neighbour and wedding planner) - he has it all under control. Such a fun collection of loveable characters (dead and alive!) who band together to solve a murder or two, and organise a wedding. Great comfort reading!

With her wedding a few days away, PI Audrey Fitzgerald (Fitz) is expected to solve the murder she and her family has witnessed of an up-and-coming model who has been killed at the wedding expo she is attending with her mother, sister, sister-in-law and wedding planner. Because her family doesn’t know about her ability to see and talk with ghosts Fitz must be subtle as she begins to investigate the murder, all while planning a wedding only two days away. Fitz is an awkward, clumsy but effective PI who is engaged to the detective who is also working on the murder case. She also depends on Ben, her ghost best friend who is helping with the case. How Fitz and fiancé Kade will solve the murder and get to the altar on time is a mystery you will only solve by reading this clever, funny, and entertaining ghostly book. This is my honest, voluntary review of an advanced reader copy of this book.

The opening blurb title had me hooked. Where do we find our intrepid PI, Audrey, and Seb, Laura, Amanda, and Audrey's mother? Oh, goodness. This story was incredible! Multiple murders over decades. Who is behind them and why? What do we learn? Who is a suspect? At first, I did not care for Leo, but he was okay in my book. I hope this was not the end of this series. The HEA at the end was perfect for Audrey and Kade. Enjoy the read and figure out who-dun-it.

I stayed up late to finish this story. I loved it. These stories make me scared then laugh so hard my sides hurt sometimes. Audrey has changed so much. From the first book to this one. She is more secure in how she can handle things. Not so clumsy either. I adore her and her dedication to her ghost clients. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

wedding preparations for Kade and Audrey are filled with as much critter chaos, ghostly drama and mayhem, mystifying murder case related details and dangers, clumsiness, and absolutely fabulous interludes with the help from the like of Seb and some fabulous drag queens

festive, frantic, and perfectly imperfect as they work to carry out their I Dos amid the chaos

Funny, sometimes frightening, sometimes insightful, sometimes poignant and sweet, and oh so typical for Audrey and Kade - another shot to the funny bone and ALL the tenderest parts - and I do mean ALL the tenderest parts

a perfect read to bring the funny and humor and comic relief perspective to anyone who ever suffered through drama and angst loaded wedding planning

☆ 'Life Ghost On': Ghost Detective Book #9 ☆ JANE HINCHEY ☆

I DO, I DO, I DO, I DO, I DO!

I JEWELZ PEDERICK TAKE THEE JANE HINCHEY AS MY COZY QUEEN, TO LOVE, TO READ & HONESTLY REVIEW FROM THIS DAY FORTH UNTIL DEATH DO US PART OR MY EYES GIVE OUT!

This was the one book out of all 9 of the series, that I just couldn't wait to read.
I even wanted to buy the paperback version & I rarely read paperbacks anymore, but then the cover I adored, with Audrey in the gold wedding dress with Thor & Bandit in the background, which was my favorite cover of all 9, unfortunately, had to change, something to do with the cover artists.

To me, Jane's stories are usually 5☆ books, 4☆ at the worst. I think this story shows Ms. Hinchey wrote and scrapped the storyline a few times, because to me it's good, but not her best, almost like Audrey (Jane's muse) stopped whispering her shenanigans into her ear or was it rushed. I can't quite put my finger on it. The last time I didn't love, love, love a book, it was rushed. And I found it harder than ever before to love or even have more than a passing like of any of the secondary characters, but 2 did win me over towards the end. I wanted to love to hate a meddling reporter, but in the end, he sort of won me over too & I hope he'll be a recurring character from time to time.

Book #8 'Easy Come Easy Ghost' was a 'Hole in One' Swinging Success! By far her best yet! Does that put pressure on the author to achieve the same heights? Was it going to be hard to follow up with another runaway success? Well, not usually, Jane knocks it outta the ballpark every time. Out of 40 books, there are just 2 that I think are good, while the other 38 I love and could rave about all day, they're bloody brilliant!

These books are normally extraordinary,
I read the 1st half smiling like a Chestershire cat with a great big smile on my dial, but I found the 2nd half changed for me, with not much of her famous 'Hinchey Humor' that cracks me up. Yes, there was the occasional one-liner here & there, but I usually get big laugh-out-loud belly laughs, but they were MIA much like the latest ghost character Rayna Mills when someone said something she didn't like. Did Audrey's stress transfer to Jane?
Also, this book for such a big event seems smaller than most, but that's probably because it was harder to write.

Was it the stress of planning a big bridal blowout, after all, Jane still had to plan everything a normal bride would, just not in the physical world & thankfully without the exuberant costs. It's described in minute & intricate detail to a T. Heavily detailed and descriptive world-building is not usually a tool of Jane's writing style, well not in her cozy books however, it's totally required here. Everyone wants to know every little detail of a wedding.

Also, where were the shenanigans from Thor & Bandit? There is one, but it's right at the end and only involves Bandit. It seemed over before it began & was not funny. Please, Jane, we need more Thor & Bandit. They've been MIA too much lately. Essentially, there was nothing of them other than a Facetime call in book 8, (understandable with Audrey & Kade being out of town) and so little of them here in book 9. Too much revolved around everyone but the usual crowd. But I did love the family dinner. At heart, this is a very different book with lots of secondary characters & events that occur away from Audrey's home. And so much drama.

And what of the conclusion to the Rayna Mills & Blake Kingston thread with reporter Leo Simmons? Such a shame. Maybe it'll wrap up in book 10 as a good story needs time to develop or will it just die out & cross over unnoticed like our ghosts?

The lead-up to the wedding is total annihilation, every well-thought-out plan was eradicated through chaos, calamity & combustion, but of course, it was always going to be. It had to after all this Audrey Fitzgerald's wedding.
Between Audrey, Seb, ghost guests Rayna, Emily & Bestman Ben, Thor: a smart-ass British cat with a big mouth & bad attitude & Bandit: a sweet, but naive naughty little raccoon, the only stable character of the usual crew is Kade, Detective, Cowboy Hot Pants!
Add multiple murders, a touch of mystery, much mayhem, and a legion of liars adding more fuel to an already out-of-control fire, with more suspects than a game of Cluedo.
So, how does it not all end in ruin or will our Scooby bunch save the day, solve the mystery, close the case, and cross the ghosts over all the while having the wedding of their dreams?

Without the usual hilarity & hijinks, it just left me a tad underwhelmed. Yes everything went wrong, and there was more drama than ever before, I just expected much more humour & light side. I'm not saying the book was dark or too heavy or serious, it wasn't.
I'm so sorry Jane, I hate to write anything negative or constructively criticize any author's hard work, but I know it can sometimes be helpful when readers are truthful without being rude or nasty. While 'Life Ghost On' is my second to least favourite book of the series, I still enjoyed it, I guess I just expected more. Maybe I built it up in my mind so much that it didn't reach expectations and that's the problem. Unfortunately book #8 'Easy Come Easy Ghost' way outshined book #9 'Life Ghost On' like a Chief Bridesmaid outshining the Bride on her big day!

And sadly, for me, I picked the murder way too quickly, at the second mention or introduction of this person (who shall remain nameless). We don't want spoilers. I have been reading Jane's work since 2016 & know her style quite well.
I don't think it was that easy to guess this who-done-it which was one of the highlights. With multiple murders & no real connection other than the murdered models being in wedding dresses & dying a year apart, this was one of the better murder mysteries.

Sorry, but what was with Audrey? I've never seen her with such blinders on. She had a one-track mind as to who the murderer could be and it didn't matter what the evidence showed, she still wanted to pin both murders on this character. Seemed very un-Audrey-like.
Let's put it down to wedding day stress, two murders to solve, and what was to be the lead-up to the wedding from Hell! So I guess it's forgivable.

Although I do think there was a major opportunity missed to bring the famous 'Hinchey Humour' out during the Living Dead's living room bride-off catwalk scene! Here there was ample opportunity for massive laughs with two dead models in wedding dresses covered in blood & gore teaching our clumsy private eye how to strut her stuff! What I visualized was hilarious, but what I read wasn't. I kept waiting for our lovable kooky klutz to take a header face first into the catwalk or land on her butt or fall through the ghostly cat-walk queens & was dying for some snippy catty one-liners from Thor & Bandit, but was just left hanging! Seeing Audrey taught to walk in high heels could have been a show-stopper! I guess we couldn't have our Bride-To-Be getting too banged up before her big day, but stumbles, falls & catcall laughs would have been divine!

I RATE LIFE GHOST ON 3.9☆ OUT OF 5☆!
It's almost a 4☆ book, but not quite. It's a light & fun entertaining read guaranteed!

And as always this is my fair, honest, and impartial review.

Audrey and Kade are almost to their big day, but that doesn’t mean that crime and ghosts won’t still keep them busy. The murder of a high fashion model brings an investigation to Kade and two more ghosts for Audrey to deal with. Everything leading up to the wedding seems to go wrong for the madly in love couple; can they figure out what happened before they meet at the alter?

While I’ve loved each and every book in this series, this one may be my favorite. There’s is much to like. First, Seb is fabulous. He’s creative, take charge, and supportive. He’s also funny and is instrumental in saving things that go horribly wrong. Audrey and Kade are, well, Audrey and Kade. She’s still clumsy but determined to solve the mystery; he’s still charming and dedicated to his job. Ben is a delight, as always. He’s there to help Audrey where he can, and he can be very useful.

This book brings a wedding so beautiful that I cried. Both the wedding and the pre-wedding scenes are amazing, the best I’ve ever read in a book, seen in a movie, or participated in. Truly, it’s pure magic

This book has the feeling that it might be the last in the series, but I hope it isn’t. The characters are so wonderful that I’d love to see them continue to live their lives, and afterlives, for a very long time.

The story told in this book is true to the series, but in addition brings along a charming fairy-tale. Of course, I knew what Bandit was going to from the moment I was told where the dress was hung, but I also knew that something good would come of it.

Beautiful! Beautiful! Beautiful! Read this book, it provides everything you want from a paranormal cozy mystery.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the author. I thank her for her generosity, but it had no effect on this review. All opinions in this review reflect my true and honest reactions to reading this book.

Audrey and Kade are almost ready to tie the knot when a visit to a Bridal Expo lands them with a new case. The highlight of the fashion show turns out to be the dead model, instead of her dazzling gold wedding dress. As Audrey watches the ghost of the dead woman rise, she knows that she needs to solve this case before her wedding becomes spectral central. To top off her day, she learns that her wedding venue has burned down leaving her with no place to hold the ceremony. But have no fear - Seb is here. Her neighbor slash wedding planner has no doubt he can solve her location problem, leaving her to solve the murder.

The case is a convoluted one with a victim who 'forgets' to tell her important things, a similar case that has had her stumped for months, and suspects who keep changing their stories. It will go down to the wire and scare ten years off Kade's life before the murderer is apprehended.

Always love reading about Audrey and Kade and was happy they are finally tying the knot. The wedding is spectacular as only Seb could have made it and Audrey's dress gets a last minute makeover that will make you gasp. Thor and Bandit are as mischievous and entertaining as ever. Enjoy. I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

This is such a terrific addition to the series. Audrey and Kade are only two days away from their wedding when a visit to a Bridal Expo lands them with a new case. The highlight of the fashion show turns out to be a dead model. As Audrey watches the ghost of the dead woman, she knows that she needs to solve this case which appears to be related to a current case she is also working on. To add to the stress, she learns that her wedding venue has burned down leaving her with no place to hold the ceremony. That is when she turns to her neighbor, Seb. Her neighbor slash wedding planner has no doubt he can solve her location problem, leaving her to solve the murders. There are so many twists and turns, scary moments, funny moments, laugh out loud moments, and Bandit and Thor moments that make this book one of the best. The wedding is spectacular as only Seb could have made it and Audrey's dress gets a last minute makeover that only Seb and his special group of friends can make it. I could not put this book down and hope there are many more in this series.

Was Audrey ready for her wedding? Noooo, she had stress levels through the roof. There was going to be no peace mentally or physically until she could solve the mystery that had complicated her life at the last moment and there was no doubt that Kade was the man for her. Very entertaining as Audrey struggles between the preparations for her wedding and the suspects in the case at hand. The investigations were interesting, intriguing, and stimulating my imagination. There were a lot of fun scenes that made me chuckle a lot about the things that were happening to Audrey and the way she saw things. I liked the participation of Seb, his interesting friends and especially Ben. I found it emotional, and I even shed a tear reading the last chapters. So many good and beautiful things! I felt like I was present at the ceremony. Mystery, ghosts, deceit, danger, amusing situations, strong emotions, pets, lot of friends and romance.

Audrey Fitzgerald (Fitz) her family and Seb her very flamboyant friend and wedding planner force her to go to a bridal expo. But when she sees the venue with its twinkling lights and flowers, she goes in. A well known model, Rayna Mills was to make her grand entrance on top of a very large wedding cake. But she is dead and her ghost attaches to Audrey wanting her to find out who murdered her. Since her family doesn't know she can communicate with ghosts, she has to investigate the murder before her own wedding date but be very subtle about it. She also relies on Ben, her ghost friend to help. Will Audrey and her fiance Kade be able to get married on time. Will they be able to solve the murder before the big day? This book in the series hooks you in from the beginning and doesn't let you go until the end. The whole series is amazing and I highly recommend it. I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

The mystery involving the models was interesting, but the whole wedding theme was a snooze for me—but then I hate weddings! The vows just dragged on and on and on and were mostly eye roll worthy. Stick to the standard ones and avoid boring your friends with the how we met and how much caffeine you will provide for me and how clumsy I am twaddle! The one saving grace for the whole wedding mess was Seb. He needs a spin off series of his own. And I loved the drag queens who helped get Audrey ready for her big day. OK, I just talked myself into bumping this review up to 4 stars instead of 5. Maybe if I hadn't been a maid of honor when I was 14 years old, wearing high heels for the first time and having to stand next to my best friend for over an hour while her pentecostal preacher made sure to save all our souls before he even began the ceremony I might look more favorably upon weddings. My feet have never been the same!

Another fantastic installment in one of my favorite series! Jane has done it again! Fall in love with the cast of characters and laugh out loud as you cheer for Audrey and Kade!

Audrey Fitzgerald is about to marry Cowboy Hotpants…err… I mean Kade, the man of her dreams. Literally. Like in hours. But before she can say I do, she’s determined to solve not one, but two murders. Haunted by two gorgeous models in bridal gowns and aided by the ghost of her best friend Ben, she will stop at nothing to bring justice to these women. Seb, her neighbor and wedding planner is determined to make this a wedding to remember, regardless of the mounting obstacles thrown his way, including the two cutest ring bearers in the world, Thor and Bandit! As the clock ticks down, Audrey and Kade may have to decide between finding a murderer and exchanging vows. Will they say I do? Or I don’t?

Jane Hinchey has done it again, her books never fail to hit the mark. This time the pathologically clumsy Audrey is set to marry the love of her life Kade in just a few days, but getting the final details for a wedding organised is never going to be easy with a couple of ghosts of dead models wanting their murders resolved. Add in an extra marital affair, an investigative journalist, a haute couture wedding fashion designer, Seb, the super flamboyant wedding planner and neighbour, a group of drag queens, Thor (the cat who's convinced that being on a diet means he's being starved to death) and Bandit the loveable but unpredictable racoon, and the scene is set for murder, mayhem and just maybe a wedding!

Absolutely loved this book devouring it in one sitting, a five star read from me.

This was a good continuation of the series. It felt a little rushed to me and was on the shorter side (less than 200 pages). Although, to be fair, that's how Audrey's feeling with the timeline of things in the story, so it's kind of understandable). The returning characters were great and amusing. Most of the new characters weren't quite as likeable as usual (until the very end), which was weird, because the series usually is pretty good with their characters. It wasn't as easy to figure out who was at fault for the crime, which was nice. This book has the feel about it like it could be the final book in the series, even though it's supposedly not. Overall, it was a decent book, though it felt a little rushed.

Ghost hitches before Audrey gets hitched

Ghosts don't respect deadlines, not even when it's a wedding day, and Audrey and Kade certainly have their work cut out for them this time. Seb really shines when everything goes wrong at the eleventh hour, actually the perfect wedding planner in sequins and glitter!
This is as a lot of fun, with Audrey racing around trying to solve murders when she should be getting into her dress. I loved Seb and Thor and Bandit, and Kade was as gorgeous as ever. Ben made me tearful, but in a good way. A very happy story, apart from the murders obviously, and the wedding was great.

Who is Killing Models

Welcome to the world of Audrey and Kade as they try to find the answer to who killed a model just before her finest role that would have catapulted her to fame. The persons of interest are plenty and not all forthcoming as to what the truth might be, but then again if Audrey wasn’t able to find real truths we wouldn’t have this book to read. Not only that but while trying to solve this crime our couple are also putting the last minute touches on their immediate wedding vows. To know how everything comes together I suggest you buy this book and I recommend you read it as quick as possible, like I always say, you won’t be sorry;)

This is the ninth book in the Ghost Detective series and they only get better. Audrey and Kade are getting hitched in a few days and what do you know, we have another murder mystery to solve. There are twists and turns galore that keep you guessing. In the meantime all of the wedding plans so awry. Are they going to be able to figure out who the murderer is on time? Are they going to be able to get married? You’ll need to read this wonderful book to find out. I highly recommend this book and series. I really hope this series continues. The characters are a lot of fun.

The wedding we've all been waiting for. Finally, Kade and Audrey are days away from their tying the knot, so of course, they find themselves with a new mystery to solve. Mayhem is at a high, surprises are abundant and love is in the air. This is such an awesome group of characters. Seb has fit in with the bunch amazingly well. Thor and Bandit are up to their mischievous antis as usual. I'm also glad to see Ben is still sticking around. I love weddings and this one was one I won't forget. It will be interesting to see what is in the future for the series.

Oh, how I love this series!!! Book nine was the cream of the crop, the icing on the cake, the jelly to my peanut butter! I so hope this wasn't the last in the series. I love Audrey, Kade, Ben, Thor, Bandit, and the rest of the crazy characters that help the story on its way to being a true laugh out loud joy to read! Seriously, if you are looking for a light, fun, highly addicting and entertaining story to get into, then look no further.Jane Hinchey will have you reading late into the night and looking forward for more.

Really great book

I’m not very good at writing reviews, but I have to say that this series of books is so much fun and so clean and so funny… I love the animals that she can hear talking as if we all don’t already know how that works lol and it’s just so much fun with the ghost and mysteries thrown in for fun. I can’t imagine anyone not giving these books a five star review. Thank you Jayne and keep up the writing. We all love the books. I’m already looking forward to book 10 and 11 and 12.

I will confess right up front that I am extremely partial to this series. I find Audrey to be, possibly, the most adorable series MC ever. Also, the author allows her to go about doing her thing without a bunch of grief from the hunky detective about "staying out of his investigation". She's helpful, and Kade allows her to help. I really like that aspect of this series' set-up. And, yes, i was more inclined to get weepy at her wedding than I would for most real people I know.

Audrey is getting married, well at least if the ghosts leave her alone. But a supposed to be relaxing day with the women turns into anything but when there is a murder. Audrey and Gabe work together to try and save their wedding. This is the best series, full of fun. Audrey is a clumsy bumbler but she always manages to solve the case and steal the show. These stories are always such a great escape.

Audrey and Kade are getting ready to tie the knot when they find themselves in the middle of a new case during a visit to a Bridal Expo when the model for her wedding dress happens to be a ghost and Audrey has to solve this case before her wedding. You'd think that would be enough drama but no - her wedding venue has burned down, where will they hold the ceremony? Can Seb, her neighbour and wedding planner solve her location problem whilst she solves the murder?

Audrey's wedding is a couple of days away and she has been talked into going to a wedding expo and she is complaining the whole time saying I got my dress, the flowers, the venue, my cake why do I have to be here and then the unthinkable happens and upcoming model is killed and she has to solve the case in time to get married, can she do it. Let's go I love it; wedding expos, murder, intrigue and another ghost sheer craziness days before Audrey's wedding what fun.

This is one of my favorite series.
The wedding is finally here and of course Audrey has another mystery to solve before the wedding in 2 days. Yikes, talk about pressure.
The murder of a model wearing a wedding dress, a mystery not solved from a previous murder and a wedding riding Audrey's back, yet between her and Kade they can solve anything.
We can't forget all the side characters who put the giggle in Audrey's life.
OUTSTANDING job Ms. Hinchey!
