While reading this TPB, I was reminded of the 2018 J.J. Abrams movie Overlord. However, the book includes an interview with the author Georgia Battle. In the interview, she states that she was influenced by both George Romero's movie Day of the Dead (which I saw) as well as another movie Dead Snow, which I haven't seen but will now.
