This book is truly a remarkable book that delves deep into the essence of Karma Yoga and offers guidance on leading a purpose-driven life while embracing the art of letting go. I’ve read many books about power of yoga from shri prabhupada ji, this book is also a big source of knowledge i must say.

The fact that the teachings are rooted in the Bhagavad Gita, an ancient text that has withstood the test of time, adds an extra layer of depth and wisdom to the book. It's fascinating how the book focuses on chapters 2 to 5 of the Gita, which specifically explore the concept of Karma Yoga. This shows that the book is dedicated to providing a comprehensive understanding of this particular aspect of the Gita's teachings.

One aspect that caught my attention is the emphasis on selecting a cause worth dedicating your life to. This suggests that the book not only helps you understand the philosophy behind Karma Yoga but also guides you in applying it to your own life. It's empowering to think that we have the ability to choose a purpose that resonates with us and aligns with our values.

And of course, the transformation into a Karma Yogi is incredibly inspiring. The idea of embodying the qualities of a Karma Yogi, such as selflessness, compassion, and detachment, can have a profound impact on our lives and the lives of those around us. It's an invitation to step into a higher version of ourselves and make a positive difference in the world.

The Power of Karma Yoga is like a transformative journey of self-discovery. It promises to unlock the immense potential within us and guide us towards a more meaningful and fulfilling life.

Why do we feel the insatiable void in our lives? How do we fill that? Is there any way to stop oneself from being materialistic? Why do people often react a certain way? What's the role of our Ego in it? One at a time, this book dwells us deep into the world of philosophy. Indeed, an eye opener.

Beginning with making us understand how ego works, the book leads us on a journey of letting go of things when they expire. The purpose-driven life being the centre motto of the book, it uses illustrations from all walks of life ranging from Sachin Tendulkar to the author's own life. The attention grabbing, thought provoking agenda of the book is indeed made possible due to those lifetime examples that are lively, timely and to the content.

One of the mind opening books I have read. The simple way of explaining philosophy is not every author's cup of coffee. This book aced in that aspect, hooking the attention of the readers since the first page. The writing style is flowy and I experienced no struggle in comprehending the content. Above all, how much is letting go important in everyone's life! In eagle's eye, attaining fulfilment is what the book talks about.

Recommended for people who are in search of a book that brings in peace through the art of letting go.

No doubt our shastras, yogas, and Puranas are sources of knowledge, wisdom, and inspiration, however, scholars like Gopinath Chandra Das ji help readers by decoding the age-old knowledge and unsheathing to provide ingenuity for present-day consummation.

Book title "The Power Of Karma Yoga" is presented as five stratifications dealt as twenty chapters that relish the apprehensions like letting go, purpose-driven strategy, worthy compelling, and karma yoga (perfection and advancements). I personally adore the author for real-time examples that serve as use cases for expounding karma yoga.

Gopinath Ji didn’t miss mentioning the citational references of Gita almost in every chapter. He also reinforced the need for inner fulfillment, purpose-driven modus operandi, doership, responsibility, simplicity, intelligence, reciprocation, and so on.

Karma essentially is the sole purpose of our life. Not just our Dharmic texts like Mahabharat teaches us that but even various learned scholars ranging from Vivekananda ji to Shankaracharya to Sadhguru echoes the same thoughts.

In this amazing book author has cited examples of various individuals who narrate their own story showing how one needs a cause they can dedicate their life towards and leave fulfilling and uplifting footprints in the sands of time. By making use of examples from Srimad Bhagavad Gita, author has stressed upon the fact that everyone seems to talk about leading a purposeful life but individuals are missing out on how to actually get there .

I have heard many people saying that they are spiritual but not Dharmic and I laugh at their existence as both Dharma and spirituality are like two sides of the same coin and they always go hand in hand. The work also enchantingly profuses the philosophy of letting it go and outlines the steps to lead a life like a KarmaYogi.

The most striking feature of the work is how effortlessly it connects the ancient learning with the present world adding more meaning , wisdom , perspective and different dimensions to one's life. Overall a pretty important guide if you want to trudge on the path of absolute transformation and gain acute wisdom

Book - The Power of Karma Yoga

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Yoga has a lot to offer, with many forms of it. Gopinath Chandra Das, an ISKCON monk and a Vedic life coach, he draws from the teachings of the Bhagwad Gita from chapters 2 to 5 to give an insight to what Karma Yoga is. He also explains on what a purpose-driven life is, what needs and wants are, and how to be a Karma Yogi.
I must say, when a lot of self help and spiritual books talk so much about Yoga, specifically Yogasana, Gopinath Ji brings out something that we must have heard sometime in our lives but never really paid attention to. His thorough reading of the Gita and deep understanding of it really pay off well when he talks about Karma Yoga and its importance.
The writing is gripping and more than that, it is the examples and analogies he used that actually kept me engaged with the book. He talked of Apple Inc., a World Cup match, and a few more. His examples were grounded which made association very easy and understanding what the takeaway from the chapter was more efficient.
A book that opens the doors to Karma Yoga and it's beauty, Gopinath Chandra Das Ji has written a great guide which can definitely help you in your spiritual journey.

"Those who are seers of the truth have concluded that of the nonexistent [the material body] there is no endurance and of the eternal [the soul] there is no change. This they have concluded by studying the nature of both."

Being purposeful alone won't help unless there is clarity in the karma for which you want to be purposeful. There's a lot of buzz around being purposeful, but hardly anyone seems to know how to get there. The answer lies in our revered scripture Bhagavad Gita. The Gita's teachings echo through the ages, reaffirming the true impact of your actions and how they hold the key to your destiny. "The Power Of Karma Yoga" is one step towards attaining that purpose, the karma for which all of us are destined.

"The Power Of Karma Yoga" is a nonfiction, self-help book encompassing the true nature of one of the yogas preached and practiced in ancient times. This book took the lessons from there and skillfully applies them to our modern everyday life. How judgmental was I to think when I thought this would be another book solely relying on scriptures and nothing substantial would be revealed about the modern era. This book broke my illusion. This is a wonderfully written book on 'purpose'. Its subtle inclination towards the lessons from Bhagvad Gita along with real life examples of people from various backgrounds makes it an easily approachable book. The narrative arrested my attention from the beginning.

Coming to the writing style, for me it's the second most favorite part of the book. The writing itself is simple yet there's a rich interplay of words connecting the context with the concept. Written in layman's language thus can be read by anyone. I would recommend this book to everyone.
