I'm an experienced seamstress on wovens so knits seem like a good new skill to learn. Sewing with Knits starts with the basics -- identifying types of knit fabric, different fabric qualities, choosing patterns, modifying patterns, and finally style suggestions and more advanced techniques. Now as you can see by the copyright, this isn't a new book. Full-color photos illustrate techniques and ideas throughout, but you wouldn't necessarily want to take the fashion suggestions. I still think much of the sewing information is pertinent for today. Even with the somewhat outdated styles, I finished the book feeling like I could work with knits successfully and even add my own favorite details to garments.

Very good overview on sewing techniques for most stretchy knit fabrics. Despite the Singer brand name on the cover, this book is appropriate for any modern zig zag or serger type machines.

Truly fantastic. I wish one day they will reissue this series for the modern sewer.
