T.L. Routledge was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, IL, and never really thought of himself as a writer or really much of a book lover. When Harry Potter was released, it immediately piqued his interest, as it did with millions of others. He listened to the Chronicles of Narnia on audiobook at a much younger age, but in the time between, it hadn't dawned on him that he loved fantasy until he matured and discovered his passion for writing epic fantasy, sci-fi, and thriller novels.

Now Tim lives in Austin, TX, and continues his passion for writing. He's regularly reading something new.

What an introduction the the world that TL Routledge created. A dark and epic quest in a gritty violent world where a war between werewolves and vampires is ongoing. We follow two brothers on their journey to find immortality, and also the repercussions of such a quest.

If you are in need of a new dark and twisty fantasy book with all the classic monsters you love, I suggest picking this one up! His take on vampires and werewolves was really cool, and I really enjoyed the narration and voice given to the vampire characters.

It was a tad slow in the beginning, and had some places with some exposition dumping, but for a set up book, I find this acceptable, and it was done in a way that wasn't too jarring. Once we get into the meat of the story though the pacing really picks up, and the book leaves me wanting the next entry into the series!

Sinead stole the show for me. She’s the kind of character I love: hardened by experience, morally complex, but with just enough humanity to make her compelling. Watching her navigate the chaos gave the story so much edge. Every time she was on the page, I felt like things were about to get interesting...and they often did.

The overall vibe of the book reminded me a lot of The Witcher. Not in a copycat way, but in the blended dark fantasy, moral grayness, and the sense that the world is bigger, older, and far more dangerous than the characters even realize. Monsters, politics, strange meetings... a recipe for a solid read!

I don't know how to explain this properly, but as I was reading, the story played out in my head like one of those movies with the dark filter. Think The Crow, Underworld, and Ginger Snaps. The dark and gritty visual.

I'm very glad I stumbled across the author's social media and gave this a go!

The book that took me nearly a decade to write! If you’re a fan of the Underworld movies or Van Helsing with Hugh Jackman, those were major inspirations behind this series. I loved the gritty take on a war between vampires and werewolves. But this book is about more than that. It’s about an epic quest to find immortality and the ramifications that come with it.

I greatly enjoyed this audiobook. The adventure these brothers go on starts in the very first chapter. Action packed from the beginning. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone looking for a great werewolf vampire book!

I did an immersive read with this book, going between the physical and audio. First, I have to say the narrator of the audiobook was top tier! I found myself choosing to listen over reading the physical book because I loved the narration so much. He really brought the characters to life.

My favorite thing about this book was the relationship between the brothers. While the plot and pacing were exciting and kinetic, the true through line of the story was answer the question to what end will these brother go to protect each other.

I appreciate that the author gave us a fair amount of world building without relying on extensive exposition or info dumps. This is the first book in the series and I love that we will have more books in this world! The ending concluded this book nicely, but left me excited to see where we will go in book two.

I really enjoyed this book and I can see the potential for the series!

T L ROUTLEDGE brings something to an old trope and an old setting, making it his own as we adventure through a world of warring vampires and werewolves as two brothers quest for immortality.

While there is some exposition dumps throughout the piece, I know he’s setting something up larger in the grand scheme of things! And while there are deeper themes unfolding, the action is certainly at the forefront. If you’re a fan of vampire vs werewolves, heavy action, this one is certainly for you.

The relationship between Alexander and Marcus kept me going, and they certainly carry the story. They play off of each other so well from the first page to the very last.

Ultimately, I read this because it was marketed as a nolstagic piece to Underworld, a very fun and action packed series. ROUTLEDGE did an astounding job with his debut novel, and the more he works at it, I know he will only improve.

Official rating: 3.75/5

My rating scale is 2.5 = average book. Anything above is better than average. I believe with this being Routledge’s first book, you can only expect him to get better. While it is not GREAT and without flaws, it is very good and a very enjoyable read. I’m excited to see what he produces with his next book that is coming out soon.

I really wish I could immerse myself in this world and fully experience life as it unfolds! Each element of the story captivates me; there's not a single stone turned that I wouldn’t want to explore, and every aspect has intrigued me in its own unique way!

The style of the narrative is modern, yet it carries subtle echoes of what has come before. It's a perfect blend that resonates with my sensibilities. When I read the physical copy previously, I realize now that I may have overlooked certain themes that the performance so vividly illuminated. It’s amazing how a different medium can uncover deeper layers of meaning, bringing the story to life in unexpected ways.

I encourage you to listen to this compelling story and fully indulge in the rich tapestry it offers! The nuances, the emotions, the characters all come alive in a way that makes you feel like you’re part of the journey.

Tim, you truly did an outstanding job with this performance. Keep pushing those boundaries your hard work and talent shine through, making this experience all the more memorable. I can’t wait to see where you take us next!

In a world beset by horrors, two brothers find themselves caught between warring factions and the conflict will change their lives-and possibly the world-forever.

Immortal is truly an epic journey, with a large cast of unique characters. This was a solid start to what promises to be a great series. I can't wait to see what Marcus and Alexander have in store for them in book two!

I really liked this book. I think it was a great debut. I wish it was a little longer and took some more time in a few places, but that’s what book 2 and the prequel are for! I absolutely plan to read the rest of the series.
