The in-vitro fertilization program introduces Julia and Lester Masters to a mixture of delightful possibilities and medical evil necessities. The Rollercoaster shows what involvement in IVF is really like, taking the reader from days working with the Masters on their farm to the couple's first view of a tiny human embryo. This personal and moving account will surprise anyone accustomed to media portrayals of IVF and will strike a chord with all women who ache to be mothers, but are struggling to conceive and carry a child to term.
3.5 stars. A relatable read having done ivf myself. I identified with many of the things discussed in the book. Well worth reading either if you are considering ivf, undergone ivf or simply to understand the lengths one goes to in trying to have a child.
