Trevor a single father of 2, CEO and rich is looking for a Nanny. All the ones that have been passes through are all about the glamor of the mansion and the fancy neighborhood but not really interested in the children. Jane looking for a clean slate from her past decides to take a job in a different town, leaving her past and the problems behind her. Jane wanting to make a good first impression ends up looking like a soaking wet mess with a broke down car in front of the mansion she is to be working at. This is another one of Ashley Flame’s quick reads, at only around 1 hour. Dive into the story of how a woman running from her past ends up in a mansion in California, watching a CEO’s children. This book does contain family drama, ghost from the past, personal walls for protections, ex’s coming to the present.
Unfortunately, this one didn’t work for me. The premise had potential—Trevor and Jane could’ve been a compelling pair—but the execution fell flat. The story felt repetitive, with little variation or momentum to keep me engaged. I kept waiting for something to spark, but the emotional and romantic tension never quite landed.
There wasn’t nearly enough spice to justify the setup, and both the character development and plot felt undercooked. It read more like a rough draft than a fully fleshed-out romance. The one upside? It was a quick read, which made it easier to power through despite the lack of depth.
If you’re looking for something light and fast, this might suit you—but if you’re craving chemistry, complexity, or heat, you may want to look elsewhere.
It's absolutely awful. I have to wonder if the writers day job is as a Therapist, because the whole story reads like a therapy session. The couple are always referring to their life journeys and feelings of closure and understanding and acknowledging their situation and any feelings they might have between them. It had the potential to be an okish story, but the whole thing was like being in couples therapy. Give it a miss
OMG there are no words to describe how wonderful this romance book is. Trevor and Jane will show you how much chemistry they develop between each other. I loved reading this quick romance book by Ashley. It’s a great book to sit on the couch and relax while reading it.
