Rich, powerful, gorgeous- these star football players are every girl’s dream.
And they choose me. The new girl on campus, I find myself swept into the billionaires’ world of wild parties and exclusive events. I’m offered a place at their side, but there’s a price to be paid for the attention. There’s a cost for them too, the Bridgeport Knights’ star players. They are unable to refuse the invitation to an evil secret society, passed down through the generations, and the key to the Luxe room with all its privileges and hazards. And for me, being a “Luxe Girl” is more dangerous than I ever dreamed. One girl after another is targeted, and I know I’m next. Caught up in a web of dark secrets and lies, can I trust my three Knights to protect me? This is a dark, spicy romance with an HEA and no cliffhanger. This is a story where the heroine won’t have to choose between her different love interests and has scenes and situations that makes it suitable only for readers aged 18+
*This book was released in 2022 as part of a shared world. It has now been updated and rewritten as a standalone but the core of the story remains the same.

I loved Luxe. Sit back, get comfy and indulge your literary senses

I absolutely loved this book Luxe.
I am a huge fan of Melissa Adams and I think she's outdone herself with this one. The layers of the story interweave to make this a fabulous read that had twists and turns that came out of left field (that's a football reference right? Forgive this British readers ignorance).
Be careful what you say as the walls have ears!

not worth it

I tried. I really did. I just couldn’t get through it. It was not a sports romance and it felt forced.

Well I really was just taken on the ride of my life and completely blown away in all the best ways . Luxe is a Reverse Harem , Secret Society and Dark Sports Romance that not only has the ability to play on all your emotions but will keep you up reading to the early morning hours . It truly is an emotional rollercoaster, you’ll go through so many different emotions while reading ( everything from being speechless, to yelling outta pure frustration. Your heart will feel like it’s beating so fast and then bam being crushed with tears coming down your eyes , you’ll be glued to the edge of your seat anticipating what will happen from one second to the next . And you’ll find yourself rooting so freaking hard . From page one I knew I was in trouble , I felt a pull to Brooke , Wyatt , Roan and Clint I can’t really put into words. Brooke is at college on a cheer scholarship, Wyatt , Roan and Clint are known as the gods on campus and the football team . Each guy is so very different and such complex characters with so many. Different layers. What they do have. In common is the simple fact that all 3 are completely captivated by Brooke . Angst , humor , witty banter , oh so steamy moments, intrigue, suspense, mystery, secrets , lies , danger , love , passion, romance, tragedy, family , friendships , unexpected surprises, and so much more . LUXE has it all in spades

Loved it

This book will draw you in and not let you go. Something is happening here, at this college campus that you just want to know the truth about. The twists and turns about it will leave you on the edge of your seat. Brooke is a strong character and fits in well. The guys definitely have some growing pains, but come together when needed. I couldn't stop reading

Brooke is back to finish her last year of college after having took a gap year. She never thought that she would find herself in the middle of chaos. Starting with the three guys that want her and given that she is equally attracted to them as well, how is she to choose between them. When the guys take her with to the Luxe room, she suddenly finds herself in the middle of a situation that she doesn't want to be a part of, but it's too late, girls that were in the room are dropping like flies and Brooke knows it's only a matter of time and she will be the next one to fall.

For me, this was just an ok read. At one point early in the story, Brooke goes to tryouts without a bra on. CHEER TRYOUTS. There was a whole page dedicated to this, and all I could picture was the scene in The Replacements when the strippers went to tryout and boobs flying all over the place. So, that right there told me that we weren't supposed to take Brooke seriously, which contradicted the whole first scene with Roan. I hung in there for the mystery, wanting to find out just who was behind all the madness, I wasn't invested in Brooke or the guys seeing as there was too much of everything else. I really wanted this to be the 5 star read that other people were saying, but I can't so it gets 3.5 stars.

Silly, unbelievable plot with a ridiculous twist that is so poorly thought out it's cringey. The characters have zero development and only mildly hot spice. The banter is lacking in energy but not in frequency and there's a whole intimate and painful conversation had with one mmc while another is actively inside the fmc for his first group experience. Completely off the rails.

The drug kingpin plot reads like what a child might think a spy movie is about. Dislodged from reality in every way.

I almost dnf'ed so hard but it's a 5 hour read tops so I just trudged along. But there wasn't a single thing I liked about this story.

The fmc's POV was the worst. The tone is so preachy and holier than thou, there's slut shaming and party shaming and just an overall moralistic superiority that was icky.

Edit: came back for more rant.

The main characters constantly talk verbally and in inner monologue about how it's totally cool with them to love who you love but they are totally straight. Once is fine. Multiple times throughout the whole book reads a bit phobic.

The fmc's boobs are another unnecessary constant topic of conversation. Again one mention is fine, regularly bringing it up is weird. And it must be known that her boobs are superior to all others because the other girls in her circle have small breasts. Even while the fmc is witnessing another girl gets sexually assaulted her inner voice says the abuser grabbed her friend's "small breasts." Gross.

All of the female side characters are devices to make the fmc look good and there's so much anti feminist rhetoric that it just feels like the "she's not like the other girls, she's superior" trope. Gag. Barf.

I was looking for a short book that grants fun time while reading…😅well I’m not sure this would be the one that I would pick up if I’d know the writing style. I saw great potential in the story, hence why I finished it. The plot wasn’t doing it for me🤨 I didn’t understand the plot twist regarding the heroin at the near end, the love interest between them was too forthcoming for my taste but I’ll admit the spice was on point tho🥵 I think the only thing that kept me entertained until the end was the chapters that had spice in them.
Overall it was an okay read, 2,5⭐️

This is a great why choose book set in a college with a secret society thrown in to keep you guessing. Brooke meets Wyatt, Roan & Clint and the chemistry is undeniable between them, so much so that they decide to all date her and compete to be the one she chooses in the end. The characters are relatable and interesting and the story is full of twists and turns to keep you hooked. I did feel the ending was a bit rushed but overall I enjoyed the book.

This was fine. The writing was honestly really bad and that’s what made me not enjoy this. The plot of this was entertaining, but a little ridiculous(there was this plot twist that I didn’t see coming, but was so ridiculous I was laughing). The romance was fine, like I didn’t really feel any chemistry. The spicy dialogue and scenes was just not the greatest. I wouldn’t really recommend this one there’s just so many better RH romances in my opinion.

I really enjoyed that this was a standalone book and felt that for the most part it had pretty good pacing. I will admit that the ending felt a bit rushed though and parts of it were a bit of a letdown after the build up. I did think the premise of the story was interesting and romantic plot was strong.

So not worth it

I hate writing negative reviews but this one I had to. There are so many inconsistencies in the book. Don't go in thinking that you are going to be reading a book about sports. Far from it in my opinion. Idk. Just wanted more from it.

Well it was interesting but some holes in the plot and just felt a bit wrong. There were some hot scenes but it all felt very instant. The solution to the main plot was far too simple. Still it read well and was quite enjoyable.

I absolutely loved this book. A dark reverse harem within a secret society. What more could you possibly ask for?! This had all of my favorite tropes in it and sucked me in from the very beginning. Absolutely couldn’t put it down and finished it in one sitting. It had me on the edge off my seat and some shocking twists that I utterly didn’t expect. I know this was a stand-alone, but I surely hope to see more books possibly within this realm in the future by Melissa. It’s a sure fire hit from me! Definitely recommend.

ARC review for 'Luxe' by Melissa Adams

This book was my first introduction to this author, and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by how captivating and thrilling the story was from the very beginning until the end.

Right from the start, we're thrown into a world filled with questions and excitement. There are hints of a secret society, wealthy individuals with immense power and money, all of which had me eagerly flipping through the pages. Enter Brooke, a scholarship student at Bridgeport U, determined to complete her degree. Despite being surrounded by a privileged and elite student body, she manages to find solace in the company of Charlaine, the captain of the cheer squad, and three star players from the university's football team named Wyatt, Roan, and Clint. Little did she know, these boys were also members of the mysterious fraternity known as the Dark Knights, harboring some dark and unsavory secrets.

One of the things I adored about this story was the diverse personalities of the male characters and their genuine displays of affection towards Brooke. They weren't simply conventional characters; each had their own unique traits and qualities. It was refreshing to witness their actions and words reflecting their care towards not only the women in their lives but also the people around them.

Brooke herself was an exceptional character. Intelligent, strong-willed, and perfectly fitting into the narrative. The chemistry between her and the guys was off the charts, with an instant attraction that kept me hooked.

The college atmosphere, combined with the allure of the secret society, added depth to the characters and infused the storyline with an element of adventure. The enigma surrounding the secret society and all the events related to it were captivating and kept me engrossed throughout.

With its multitude of twists and turns, this book offered a rollercoaster ride filled with action, adventure, and steamy moments that will certainly leave readers satisfied. All in all, it was a phenomenal story and an absolute delight to read.
