An excellent way to study the Bible

The author has provided a very good way to become better acquainted and understand scripture by presenting passages that are connected in meaning and context, and by providing explanations about how they are applicable to one’s life. The book has been written for Black women. The author has provided examples of Black women whose lives and life’s work epitomize Biblical teachings. The author also poses great questions for the reader’s personal reflection. Highly recommended.

Lessons for anyone

Although these lessons are targeted to women, I feel men women and children of any races can take away a lot from these lessons. There are a lot of good bible verses tied to figures from history that make for a good read. If you are Christian and looking to enhance your Bible study sessions, I recommend.

Overall this is a good study. I like that it highlighted an African American woman each week. The stories are well thought out and linked the featured women to the scriptures. What I didn’t like were the errors throughout the book and the repetitiveness of scriptures. Because of this I would not purchase again or give this study guide as a gift.

I highly recommend this book for the coming year, or really anytime. Culture, diversity & adversity combined with weekly studies and scripture make for a beautiful workbook!
