Better known for his surreal films El Topo and The Holy Mountain filmed in the early 1970s, Alejandro Jodorowsky is also an accomplished writer of graphic novels and a psychotherapist. He developed Psychomagic, a combination of psychotherapy and shamanic magic. His fans have included John Lennon and Marilyn Manson.
I can never think Kindle enough for Allowing the humanoids publishing graphic novels to be a part Of their library. I 1st discovered that you won't know I'd graphic novels through The collecting of comics when I was a kid. I was a teenager around 16 or 17 and found out because as I stated before the works of Milo Minera And other graphic novels like the Incal Series.I knew that they were mostly French works that war translated into English and Then at that time I was just exploring trying to find other graphic novel that were concerned with science fiction and fantasy.I had forgot about The way the artists and the riders worked together N. synchronicity to create worlds That We're beyond my imagination.I would highly suggest And not knowing how long kindle will have these works That you said that on and get yourself a nice glass of wine and a very peaceful situation and pick 1 of These graphic novel series available right now.You won't be disappointed in anyway the art work is phenomenal The writing draws you into the story And I have never been disappointed with anything that Has been published by them. Megaplex Is the story Of the absence of anything natural in our world Ever again. This is the 1st volume I'll 3It has grab my attention So much that I cannot wait to read volume 2. Again I wanna thank kindle for making these graphic novels Available Again. It brings me back To my teenage days And takes time For me To escape The world's Problems If not just for a little time.
Lucky me! 😎
A královna s princeznou můžou žít 4.000 let a možná i víc. Všemu vládne tvrdý řád, propaganda a elektronické vymývání mozků.
This first book gives us a lot of unique world building and unusual art. It's mainly set up and an introduction to this world, as opposed to a real plot line. It seems to focus itself on
As for my opinion of this first book, I'm not sure I can accurately gage it by itself, given it's just one piece of a whole, and this bit is just the beginning. For this book by itself though, I'd say it has the creativity of an interesting and a fully fleshed out world, that makes me curious for more.
This is a three volume series on Kindle Unlimited, which forms a single narrative cut in three for convenience, hence I will review the whole series here. Originally published in French, I have read the US edition in English.
First of all, the graphics. Intriguingly, the first two albums are partly drawn on tablet rather than paper, with computer assisted design in the backgrounds, whilst the third is more traditionally made. The art is very detailed, imaginative, somewhat surreal. The visual storytelling is a little stilted at times, but quite cinematic. The artist has a schoolboyish obsession with vulvas and large breasts, which gets tiresome. Overall, it’s good but not spectacular.
Then, the writing. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. I’m used to the writer’s mystical claptrap, but here the storytelling is simply poor. The first two volumes are okay, with corny dialogue and endless tropes, but when the third volume tries to tie the whole thing into a story it becomes clear that there is no cause and effect from one sequence to the next, and every element contradicts the other. This is just an intoxicated rant. There is little to choose between the evil technical faction and the saintly natural faction, as both preach blind obedience as a highest principle, and both hold that the end justifies the means. The reason why evil emerged is a complete non-sequitur, the cause of good’s victory is a complete Deus Ex Machina, and at the climax of the final battle, both sides decide to make common cause against a mysterious enemy (to be battled in a postulated second sequence) and instantly live in harmony and happy-ever-after. Clearly, someone decided the series was junk, could not get out of the hole it was digging, and needed to be axed pronto.
What a waste.
Hence, the two first volumes just about squeak a three star rating, as they are okay if forgettable, but the last scores two, as it’s a let down.
I really love the quality of this comic. The story is obscure, twisted and melancholic at times, but the drawings take you out of the limits! It remind me the Ranxerox series. Totally recommended but not for the easy hearts.
Following the "anomaly" character in the first book of this series was an absolutely perfect story. Hilarious, mysterious, dystopian, with gorgeous art. Books 2-3 were good, but less so.
