Another home run for Jerry's Kids to read!
I have been on this train since page one, book one.
Jerry is not a talented technical writer. I've published a few books, back in the 80's when finding a publisher willing to take a chance on a new author was a nightmare, and I don't think Jerry could have gotten published back then.
This would have been a huge loss for readers everywhere.
For, while Jerry lacks the training to assemble a "proper" novel, (he has improved dramatically, let me add) somehow this crude, fumbling style adds to the heart, the... authenticity, of the story. While part of my brain was mentally moaning over the clumsy dialogue, or the enormous plot holes, the story itself is so enjoyable , so much pure FUN, that nothing else matters.
Don't be put off by the clumsy writing, particularly in the first half of the series. Jerry does make dramatic improvements over time- I left many constructive comments and I saw many others doing the same, I don't know if any of us impacted his writing or not. Whatever the reason, he improved.
But allow yourself to simply flow with the stories, and enjoy them despite- or in some manner because of- the rough edges.
As for me, I sincerely hope that Jerry never tires of telling this tale as I can't imagine ever tiring of reading it.
Party on, Garth!
