Sixteen years have passed since the Shadow Knights brought peace to Terrenor, and now a new generation of warriors fights to keep it.
Lia has the potential to be the best knight of them all. Her swordsmanship and control of the origine far exceed her young age. The Shadow Knights’ leaders push for her to live up to her potential, but her rebellious nature isn’t interested in listening. Even worse, the insistent leaders are her parents.
In an attempt to challenge her, Lia’s parents give her a position of responsibility. At first, she steps up, training others and leading missions, but when things around her unravel, she questions everything once more.
Meanwhile, the Shadow Knights discover a new threat unlike anything they’ve encountered before. A group with powers far beyond the Knights’ capabilities seeks to wipe them out, and they’re powerless to stop them.
Fighting with her own question of purpose and wondering if her parents will ever accept her as she is, Lia must choose between saving herself or that of her Shadow Knight family.
Michael Webb is a fantasy author who lives in Georgia, northwest of Atlanta. A graduate of Berry College, he is married and has a son. He began writing on a whim in 2019 and fell in love with it. In addition to finishing The Shadow Knights Trilogy, he plans to write additional books.
My teen is obsessed with the Shadow Knights Series. She loves fantasy and this one did not disappoint! Book # 4 provides a different perspective of the Shadow Knights than we have read in the previous books - which we enjoyed! The second half was f the book was particularly exciting and of course ended with a cliffhanger! We are already eagerly anticipating book #5!
As a mom, I love that Michael Webb writes stories that multiple generations can enjoy. I’ve had fun reading this with my daughter and spending time talking with her. It’s also so nice to find a fantasy series without gratuitous or necessary sexual content. It’s more difficult than you think so I appreciate the author for being mindful of younger readers yet still being interesting for older ones as well!
What a great return to this fantasy world! The first novels were really good so I was unsure how this one would play out. I think this one somehow improves upon the previous volumes. Even though this is a continuation of the Shadow Knight story line you could still pick it up and enjoy it even if you were starting here with book 4. The writing pulls you into the story and doesn’t disappoint. You really feel like you are there. The only problem is that I couldn’t put it down!
Teenagers are far too often quite the rebellions in real life as they opt to claim respect and the right to exist. in this Lia is no exception. Self interest is part of her character. However life has some extensive lessons in store for her. And the handful of Shadow Knights that safeguards the kingdom. Shadow of Betrayal by author Michael Webb is another book in the Shadow Knights series that draws you into the plot willy nilly and never lets go. Enjoy
At least by the end of the book. Webb shows how a young person can grow and mature as they seek to know themselves and see how others around them shape their character and their lives. All this with extreme action and plot twists. Excellent book for tweens and teens - action, adventure, and life lessons all rolled into one story.
I enjoy the story. It is written in an easy to read way that is fun for ages young and old. I will probably be buying the series for my grandson soon. It is perfect for YA to get involved if fantasy. I already have him reading Xanth. This will be a little more mainstream in the genre.
Took me a day and a half to finish. I couldn't stop reading only to get some sleep. Do not miss this book this review is for CHARLIE and Michael. Good reading.😉😉😉😉😉😉😉🙂🙂🙂🙂
Webb continues the Shadow Knight series with plot turns and twists. The suspense and the action are unabated, without sacrificing any of the rich characterizations. A worthy read.
I love the way Michael builds his characters. They become real to me as a reader. I have nothing negative to say. It's just a great compaling read. I would recommend this series
This book seemed to lose its appear along the way. It went on with too many problems along the way! Obviously looking towards future book(s)! Their were many good points but it just went on too long!
It a very well written absorbing read moved on all directions with believable characters and I can't wait for the next episode, deserves more than five stars
Wonderful read! Great continuation of an entertaining tale. I found that the story seemed to move very fast… hard to put down! Left with a cliffhanger!
Another Michael Webb home run. The book was almost impossible to put down, once I started reading. The only bad part, was it ending. I can't wait to read the next one.
This was a great start to the next phase in the Shadow Knights story! I was fully captivated on each page and loved the character development. Can’t wait to see what happens moving forward
I always kind of worry about continuations of a series I love.. will it live up to how much I love the original? Will it flop? Well, FEAR NOT about this one! It was absolutely INCREDIBLE! I don't even know which I like more so far, which is great! I wasn't sure exactly what to expect going in, but I love how the main characters from the original trilogy still played a large role in this more. The new characters were very real and varied as well, though. This is such a strong start to what I'm sure will be an outstanding series. I can't wait to see where the next books go!
Michael Webb always comes through with fantastic stories. This one is no different. It is a wonderful continuation of the Shadow Knights story, adding new characters and great plot twists. Just when you think you know who will betray whom, he manages to surprise you. Another great book!
