AS IF MOTHERHOOD ISN’T HARD ENOUGH…

Moving to a new town is never easy, particularly when there happens to be a hole to the underworld within the city limits.

Angie, the new blood in town, is forced to leave the safety of her house when her daughter’s blowout obliterates their sole remaining diaper. Equipped with holy water, garlic, and a silver knife, she hazards a trip to Enumclaw’s grocery store, where a near catastrophic meltdown in the diaper aisle lands her an invite to a local moms’ group.

Angie’s desire for alcohol and grown-up conversation outweighs her fear of the locals, and she decides to join. To her great surprise, she realizes supernatural mothers aren’t much different than herself… aside from their struggles with bite training and night howling.

No sooner does Angie find her tribe, than strange things begin happening within the group. Children are kicked out of daycares. Nannies go missing. Suspicion of a rival mom’s group—that just so happens to be a coven of witches—puts Angie’s newfound fondness for Enumclaw to the test. Drunken covert recon missions, undercover espionage, a psychic from the underworld, and even a trip to the black market, pushes her to her limits.

Sleep deprived, over-caffeinated, and stressed beyond their limits, the moms’ group bands together to take down the bitchy witches. But when the time comes, will Angie defend her new friends, or succumb to her fear of The Claw?

This comedic Women's Fiction--with just a little bit of spice--celebrates the rollercoaster that is motherhood, and the mom friend's that help us to survive it.

I read this book in 1 sitting.
It was fun and very relatable, especially for mothers.
I did think that the fmc was very fast not scared anymore. If I would have been scared to get out of my house because of monsters it wouldn't be gone after spending 5 minutes in a room with nice monsters.

the book also had this line. Drinking in your thirties comes with far too many repercussions.. This is so very true 😂

What I didn't like bout the fmc with her "new friends" is that she didn't show any interest whatsoever in their children. The friends just introduce their kids after she doesn't show any interest.

The jokes in this book were funny and really made me laugh. All in all it just really was a nice fun, comfy relaxing read. I hope this will turn into a series because i cant wait to read more

This was just EXCELLENT. Do yourself a favour and just read it, mother or not.

The characters were so relatable and lovable and the story just kept me staying up late nights and chasing my own toddler around the house, book in hand, just to keep reading. Couldn’t put it down!

Easiest 5 star I’ve ever given.

This was really fun! It’s literally a Paranormal Bad Moms and I am here for it! I was not expecting such relatable mum content, paired with covens of witches, werewolves, vampires and the literal wife of Satan and her children 😂

I really enjoyed the story, however there were a couple of moments where the writing wasn’t the best. I am still definitely keen to read the next book. I need to know is going to happen with Angie and the mums!

If you would move to the hellmouth right now and make friends and raise toddlers because you grew up watching Buffy, this is your book.

First off, a fantastic cast of characters make up the friend group and the town itself while keeping you engaged in first person POV. I know this is super important to readers and this book excels.

The Claw, as it’s lovingly nicknamed, is not an ordinary town and it has wonderful and horrendous not ordinary residents. Angie, who’s brand new (and just human) is ready to lose her shit in the diaper aisle and the courage it took her to get there to begin with as a new mom who never showers? Thankfully, she meets a new friend who will get her into trouble and have her back. Which is what every girl needs.

She also joins the mom group and what she gains in these friendships while they’re on their bullshit is so relatable for every mom, be it vampire, werewolf, or especially human. This is the kind of sanity (and insanity) every mom needs.

This book was an easy read that sucks you right in from the beginning without losing it’s edge in both the supernatural and the relatability. The writing was crisp and well thought out, from the setting to the mannerisms, to just the right balance with its story and its characters. It has the right amount of cliche, the perfect amount of hilarity, and I do hope we get more adventures from The Claw!

Five stars from me for not just the book but the fact that the entire team behind the book were all mothers! And the book is HOT PINK! It deserves to be at the top of your October TBR!

What a fun story! This book follows Angie, who is both a new mom and a new resident to the town of Enumclaw. Which is literally a town full of monsters. During her first trip alone to the supermarket, she meets a fellow mom and soon becomes a part of a very supportive community ... that might want to eat her. As she acclimates to this group, they begin to form a bond that rivals the Yaya sisterhood. This book is full of the warm and fuzzies, the chills, and the giggles. If you are looking for a light monster read to kick off your spooky season this is a great place to start and I can not wait for the next installment.

The only con for me was that I felt that the side characters could get a bit confusing. There are a lot of people to keep track of and I frequently would forget whose name went with whom. This is likely a me problem as I have the memory of a literal goldfish.

What this book does a great job of is mirroring monster movie antics with the very real horrors of being a first-time mom. Although Angie may be battling witches, she is 100 percent relatable and so are the characters around her who are all just trying to create a safe and nurturing environment for their kids, or dare I say, their little monsters.

This book can be best summed up with the quote: “Doesn’t matter how much you love your kids, mom life can seriously suck. There’s no way you can, or should, survive it alone.”

Angie and her husband Greg move to the quirky town of Enumclaw, where supernatural creatures abound. She's initially a homebody, but a chance encounter with another human, Emily, leads her to join a mothers' group full of supernatural moms. As Angie reluctantly bonds with this eclectic group, they face off against a not-so-nice witch named Samantha, taking Angie out of her comfort zone and into some wild situations.

This book is an adorable and hilarious journey that'll remind you that motherhood struggles are universal, and a supportive group of friends can make all the difference! Join Angie and her newfound pals in the quirky town of Enumclaw, where the gates of hell are the least of her worries. A mischievous coven of witches is out to hex Angie's new friends—will she step up to help reverse the curse, or will she shrug it off as none of her business?

The characters in this book are fantastic, especially Angie's growth and Greg's unwavering support. As a mom, I really related to the characters and their challenges. It's a beautifully written book that I'd recommend to everyone, not just moms.

I just loved book. So much in fact that I finished it in 5 hours lol.

Angie has moved into a new town when her husband Greg took a position as Vice Principal of middle school in a town called Enumclaw. Now this place isn't like any other. Why you ask? Because it's filled with people like vampires, werewolves, witches and more.

Since moving, Angie is to afraid to leave her house. She spends her days and nights being a mom to her 6-month-old baby. She's too afraid to leave her house because of the unknown outside with the less than normal people, and that scares her. It's not until one day she's forced out of her home to retrieve diapers for her daughter, where she runs into Emily, who is also a human in this crazy town. Emily decides to invite her to their moms' group, and after countless hours of trying to bail out of it, she finally goes.

At first, she's afraid and wants to back out and come up with an excuse, but as she soon finds out, these women are pretty amazing. In this mom's group, the only humans are Angie and Emily. She's among the same people she fears the most. They drink wine, laugh, share stories, and make plans to go walking the next day.

This is where the wretched Samantha comes in. See, she's a witch and not a very nice one. After meeting Sam on their walk, strange things start happening to her friends' group, and they soon find out, Sam is all behind it and they need to stop it. I love how well they all work together, and they get Angie out of her comfort zone, and also put her in not so safe situations lol.

I loved the characters in this book. Angie is such a strong female character, and I loved her growth in the book from beginning to end. I loved her husband Greg who is so supportive and loving. He is literally what every woman wants in a man (they even say so in the book lol). The moms' group is the type of group any mom would want to be a part of.

This book hit me hard in a lot of places being a mom myself. I related a lot to the moms in this book. I related to Angie with not wanting to leave my house and being afraid of the unknown. I related to Rachel because I myself am a single mom and do everything on my own with no help. I also related to the mom issues, and I felt like I connected so much with the book because well I am a mom.

Such a beautifully written book and I definitely recommend this book to everyone and anyone.

I loved this book. It was an easy and light read. When you need to get away from the heavy plot books this is the perfect book...it was relatable. Being a mom is hard and making mom friends in a new town is even harder. For this new mom she was thrown an even crazier curve ball. She moved into a town full of ghouls, vampires and other underground creatures. It's a funny and hard to put down book and I highly recommend it.

I loved Mothers of the Claw!! It’s such a fun read. Theses mothers are like you and me but supernatural (not all of them) you get to see every type of momster. I would do anything to this group of mom friends !
I can’t remember the last time I read a book that was so fun and had very little bookporn and that made me fall in love with the book itself. It’s hard to believe that this is Keria Rose first book, claws crossed for a book two 🤞🧛‍♀️

This book was amazing! It had humorous parts, meaningful parts, sassy parts, maybe one spicy part but not too spicy, and was a quick read. I could relate to more than just her name (Angie) in this story about motherhood and making Mom friends. I wanted it to be longer because I wasn’t ready for it to end. Not gonna lie I never put the pieces together with the prologue and why she was so scared at first but I’m hoping we get more of a back story later??

Phenomenal Premise

Keira Rose came up with a phenomenal premise for a book that has all the makings of a great book series and television series. I love the characters she came up with and her descriptions of the town and its charmingly ghoulish shops. I definitely recommend this book, even if the editing isn't perfect!

If you are looking for a relaxing, cozy read about motherhood, friendship, and a small bite of fantasy - this is it! This is just what I was needing and scratched the itch I had in reading a book about adult friendships, mom friends, which are so hard to find. I adored the plot and Enumclaw. I kind of wish I lived there too.

Super Fun!

I adore this book! As a mom, I really wish I had a bad ass group like this to hang out with, and they aren't even all human! It honestly would be a breath of fresh air to get out and fight a coven of witches for daycare spots!

This was such a fun read! I loved it and definitely can’t wait for more to come.
As a reader for many, many years it’s fairly easy to find something I connect with in most books I read. The humor and supernatural spin put on every day life issues was perfect.
As a woman in the trenches of motherhood myself I definitely have felt like a zombie or a witch respectively. Or feels like there’s a curse on daycare. 😅
One could only wish for a group of mom friends in this book.
Fun and easy read. Very little spice, more fade to black. Lots of mom humor and real life issues (anxiety is hard as a mom). The best of friends in the least likely of places. I cannot wait to read more.

Review of my ARC copy. This is one of the cutest “horror” books I have read. The characters are great, and Angie’s development from scared shitless to badass mom is fun to follow. There are all types of fantastical beasts and beings mentioned throughout the book, and it’s fascinating to read Keira’s take on maternal instincts with these supernatural moms as well as the few human moms of supernatural children. I wish I had a moms group like this when I first had my kids! I absolutely love this book and am so happy Keira let me have and ARC copy before it’s released!!!!

I came across this book on TikTok and I wanted to read it right when the author mentioned it was for fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The Vampire Diaries, and what the characters would be like if they became parents. Enumclaw is right next to a hellmouth, and there's vampires, witches, werewolves, and ghouls. So much nostalgia for one of my favorite shows of all time and a genre that I can read forever. Books with supernatural creatures can be dark or light, it doesn't bother me, I just love to read about them. Mothers of the Claw was definitely on the lighter side and was a very enjoyable read after some heavy books. It lifted my spirits and definitely made me laugh.

A big part of this story is a human family moving to a town full of supernatural creatures, but an even bigger part is the struggle of mothers juggling a career, maintaining their identity, and being a mom. I am personally not a mother, but I've seen the fight my sister and sister-in-law have gone through. There is no correct way of being a mom and everyone wants to give their opinion on what they think is best. It was great to see a lot of these issues that women deal with explored because I think it gives a sense that it's ok to not have your $h!t together and that needs to be more easily accepted. I really liked the growth of Angie from being a timid overthinker who was scared of her own shadow, to befriending and accepting all the different women in the mom's group. The community of women that can talk about their issues and to know that they are not alone strengthened Angie. She definitely did a lot of things I wouldn't do.

I even liked Angie's husband Greg, who I at first thought was going to be pretty useless. He may not be perfect, but he loves and supports Angie and it was really sweet to see. I would have loved to learn more about the rest of the women's husbands. Maybe in the next book?

I highly recommend this book if you love fun, easy going supernatural books about kick a$$ moms.

Thank you to the author for the ARC! I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I loved this book. I read it in one sitting. It was just a nice fun read. Even though it’s not classified as a cozy book, I would say it comes pretty close.

I enjoyed watching Angie’s perception of her town and the ‘people’ in it grow as she learns more about them.

Even though I’m not a mum, I still related to a lot of the story, and really liked that it was a story about a mum.

If you like the movies Mom’s Night Out, Bad Moms and the TV shows Teen Wolf, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The Vampire Diaries, I think you’ll like this. It’s got the vibes of all of them mixed together.

I can’t wait for the next books in the series.

It is a cute and funny read that helps you realize that you aren’t alone in your motherhood struggles, and having a great group of friends helps make things better! Follow Angie and her new friends into the town of Enumiclaw, where the gates of hell is the least of her worries. A wicked coven of witches is set to hex Angie’s new friends, will she help them reverse the curse or will she say it’s none of her business?
