This is a surprising sleeper title for me. I don't think many people are pulling this book, but they should. It's actually quite a really interesting, and different, Superman story. There's quite a lot of depth to it, too. Priest isn't my favourite storyteller of all time, and I find a lot of his stuff pretentious at times, but this is definitely one of his better titles in the last few years.

This is honestly a pretty brutal story about PTSD, for a comic book. Usually it's a lot of glossing over what kinds of effects trauma would have on someone. Oh you saw this person brutally killed and couldn't save them? Eh it's fine, normal day to day life, keep going. But this is definitely a tale about what kind of struggles a hero might face in these circumstances, and how the people around them would react.
It can get a bit depressing at times, and more than a little confusing -why is Clark so hellbent on saving a planet that doesn't want his help? Why does it shame and hurt him so bad to know he's left it behind?
Either way it's close to the end, and I suppose questions will get answered.
