I am an attorney with a writing habit! In my past life, I was a law enforcement officer working patrol, public relations, training, and investigations. Now, I stand up for first responders as an attorney. I enjoy writing fiction and non-fiction. Profits from my non-fiction books benefit first responder charities. With my fiction stories I strive to tell realistic tales of first responders based on my years as a cop, the experiences of my first responder friends, and my work as an attorney representing them during some of the worst moments of their lives. My hope is that readers of my stories come away with a better understanding of the challenges our first responders face as seen through a window into their daily lives.

My only regret with this book is I wish it had been around when I started my Law Enforcement career. In this book Lance LoRusso has taken an unknown that many officers find frightening and exposed it - answering the questions "Legally, what can I expect and what steps should I take following a duty related critical incident(shooting, ect)". Laying it out in an easy to understand and personal way(The author was a cop for 10 years) Lance LoRusso has thoroughly broken down, in detail, one of the biggest fears that LEO's face today. A mixture of law, testimony, and personal experience, LoRusso clearly has a passion for Law Enforcement and protecting the men and women who selflessly put their lives on the line for their communities day in and day out.

This should be required reading for all LEO's regardless of rank or years of service. Arm yourself with knowledge. Buy this book(and benefit Law Enforcement charities in the process).

Should Be Required Reading for all Cops

This is an excellent book for all police officers both recruit and veteran. The material in this book should be taught in the police academy and reinforced by the training officers.
The author of this book, Lance LoRusso, knows what he us talking about. We both worked for the same police department numerous years.
Don't wait until you have been involved in a deadly force issue to try and make decisions, don't think everybody will automatically be on your side.
Get this book, read it, learn it and use it. Do it for yourself and your family. Do it for all police officers!

Good information on officer-involved shootings by the Attorney for our local FOP lodge. Uncannily written well before the events of Ferguson, it is relevant now more than ever.
