Everything changed that fateful night. “Yes,” was a word that would come to haunt me. He shouldn’t have been here. His name wasn’t on the guest list. It was unfair how devastatingly hot Travis Carlyle looked in that tux. The press dubbed him the Lion of Lower Manhattan, but Lucifer of Lower Manhattan was more like it. I would have left except I was the maid of honor. Word was he never left events like this alone. I scanned the room, wondering which woman he would choose tonight. Alexa’s voice grabbed my attention. “There’s Travis, Evan’s new best man.” Panic surged when I turned and found him approaching. Best man? Him? The deep timbre of his voice chilled me to the bone. “Adriana, you must dance with me.” I knew it would be playing with fire, so why did I accept? The spark I felt when his hand settled on my bare back made me question my decision. It also made me doubt I would survive four days at the secluded wedding venue with this man.
The plot was fine, and Erin’s writing style is just my taste. Loved the previous books I’ve read. A few of those MF were pushing me to my limit of their biases, however I did not find Andy endearing at all. I would have never found her personality cute or something I could look past to develop a relationship with. I really like Travis but did not feel they had any chemistry. I’ll still read this author’s books, for sure. They are very talented. I wish she would lay off the snarky attitudes towards the rich. It goes a little too far. Reverse snobbery is what it is and makes the heroines look unintelligent even though they are highly educated.
Redundancy of Phrases Made it Hard to Stay Interested
First of all the main characters had no chemistry at all! There wasn’t a moment in the book that said aha there’s the spark. Neither character in my opinion didn’t seem to be in love just in lust. There were a couple of sayings that was said in the bedroom and when the two main characters talked to each other that was annoying to read over and over again. I would have gave it a pass if the things they said to each other was an endearment and it would have made sense to maybe how obsessed they were with each other but there was no justifying the redundancy of reading those phrases over and over again. It was as if the author ran out of words to say. The only saving Grace of the story was the problem about the Carlisle company and Andy’s school issue. Other than, the story was not a good enemies to lover trope. It was a pretty bad read.
Two unlikely opposites who are drawn together over a piece of property where the Astoria Community Center is occupied & Adriana, part-time Director of Education is very vocal in refusing to budge out of this ideal location. Travis Carlyle is assigned to do whatever it takes to get this business to move out so his family business can expand. What he doesn’t expect is a feisty, intelligent gorgeous woman who knows how to negotiate deals & who refuses to be a pushover. Once she realizes Travis is the good guy here & not “Satan” as she assumed he was, progress is made to find another ideal location.
In true Erin Swann fashion, she captures your interest with these 2 characters clashing at every opportunity & how they start to complement each other. The people undermining the Carlyle Corporation to oust the family members & the person who teams up with an unlikely ally to help with the sting operation. There are surprises & twists to keep the suspense level high, keeping you guessing on what will happen next. Kudos to a well-written romantic love story with 2 powerhouse duo who make a great team together.

This hurts to score this way. But this is a one off and I love pretty much everything from Erin and will continue to read.
I guess from the start this seemed like a cutesy book where the maid of honor and best man find about each other and then spend the wedding hating and then liking each other. That’s kinda where the blurb takes you. But the entire wedding was less than 10% of the book and not until halfway through. Adriana just got on my nerves so bad..always blaming Travis for everything when nothing was his fault. Then after the wedding, she argues about every single solitary thing he wants to do for her. I get being independent, but you’ve been robbed and he wants you safe, you say no. That’s not independent, but stupid. Next, why does no one involve the police? So many things were done to Ari yet no one thought to call the police? I’m truly not trying to be terrible, but the storyline is almost identical to Evans book, that I had just read.
I will say that I would still recommend for people. This is just my opinion. I look forward to future books.

Can a girl from the perceived wrong side of the tracks fall in love with a billionaire? Adriana (Andy) is from a working-class family from Queens. She's a teacher and is passionate about her job and her community. Travis, from Manhattan, is from a well to do family and works in the family business. When their worlds collide, the sparks fly. Ultimately, they find that they are not all to different and that family, the one you're born into and the one you create are really what's important. This book has a steam factor of five, while the story I will rate as a four. I found the opening chapters to be a bit slow, but the story picked up speed. I am left with some questions: what happened to Simon? what happened to the protesting women? will there be future stories including Julia and Sergio? Possibly these questions will be answered in future books. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A deliciously forbidden, slow-burn rollercoaster of spice, tension, and all the wedding drama you shouldn’t love—but absolutely do.
The Wicked Best Man delivers everything I want in a dark romance: enemies-to-lovers tension, mouthy banter, forbidden attraction, and a best man with alpha energy and a sinful secret or two. Think: “I hate you, but I can’t stop thinking about you… especially when you’re in a tux.” 🔥
Erin Swann nails the emotional push-pull—just the right amount of angst to keep you invested, and the spice? Nuclear. This is not your average wedding romance. This is who let this man walk into the reception looking like that and ruin my life?
If you love: • Forced proximity • Hidden feelings + visible abs • Banter that bites • A heroine who gives as good as she gets • And a book boyfriend who is equal parts charming, dangerous, and unreasonably hot…
The Wicked Best Man is an enjoyable romance between Adriana/Andi, a teacher and soon to be maid of honor, and Travis, a billionaire who is to be the best man, who meet a few days prior to the wedding at the wedding venue. The characters are diametrically opposite as Andi comes from a middle class family with an interest in giving back to the community, and Travis who was born into wealth who is used to instant gratification and adoration. Sparks fly when they first meet but they have numerous obstacles to overcome including family issues if they are to find true love. This book is highly enjoyable with great writing, characters, and plot.

Got to say I sure am a sucker for a good Enemy to Lovers Romance and this hit the spot on the nose. Also who wouldn't love to be swept off their feet by a Billionaire??
Andy was a strong willed go getter from Brooklyn fighting for her family and community against the Manhattan family, the Carlyle's, that seem set to destroy all the things she loves. Little did she know her vision of the family was only set by one individual and others tied to them but Travis Carlyle is not the same as them.
This book takes off immediately with tons of banter and stubbornness between the main characters. Love the duel POV and smut that comes later on. Lots of scheming and drama involved with the couple and had me not wanting to put this down.
Oh my have I enjoyed reading this story, once I started I could not put it down. I really loved seeing the characters develop, how I changed my kind about different characters, how certain information was fed into the story and how I wasn't always completely sure what was going to happen. I believed in Andy and Travis's connection and chemistry, I enjoyed seeing them get to know each other and I enjoyed the way they supported and understood one another. I have enjoyed the journey they have taken me on, in fact I could have happily continue reading about them.

Andi’s lifestyle is very different from Travis’s which leads to her having preconceived notions about him. She planned to keep her distance from him but when she finds herself having to work with him ignoring him and the chemistry between them becomes more difficult.
Travis was raised in an affluent lifestyle and he and Andi are like oil and water both personally and professionally. Despite that there is no denying the feelings they have for each other, but their journey isn’t without its setback.
Turmoil and romance combine as Andi and Travis show each other and everyone in their lives what they truly mean to each other.
Andy is head strong, passionate, and fights for what she thinks is right and believes in, till she can't stand anymore. She is not afraid to say what she wants, and means it. She loathes Travis because of his family, but poor Travis is really paying for his half-brother and the corrupt people on the top level of the company.
Travis is a puppet in his families company, run by his Dad, who pulls his puppets strings. He plays along because the last thing he wants is for his incompetent half-brother to step in their father's shoes when the time comes, and that time is coming quickly.
Adriana hates Travis on sight because of his family’s association to hers. However they are thrown together both to keep her community centre open and as maid of honour/best man at their best friends wedding. As time passes she reluctantly becomes more drawn to Travis. However, there are enemies and conspiracies in play that could ruin them all. I loved how protective Travis was of her. I liked that she in return fought to keep him safe from ruin. The characters are well written and the romance is really good.
The Wicked Best Man is an excellent Contemporary Romance filled with an enemies-to-lovers entanglement that proves to be the spark which sets leads Adriana and Travis on a whirlwind of romance, intrigue, personal vulnerabilities, and family drama, as the groundwork is laid for a well written, captivating story that flows towards a happily ever after, but not before the reader is taken on their entertaining and emotional journey.

This was Travis and Adriana’s story. He shouldn’t have been here. His name wasn’t on the guest list. It was unfair how devastatingly hot Travis Carlyle looked in that tux. The press dubbed him the Lion of Lower Manhattan, but Lucifer of Lower Manhattan was more like it. She would have left except she was the maid of honor. Word was he never left events like this alone. She scanned the room, wondering which woman he would choose tonight. Who will it be? An entertaining read. And voluntarily leaving this review.
Adriana raised on the wrong side of the river is an alpha hard working woman. She has put herself through college. She volunteers at a community center. Travis lives on the Manhattan side of the river in his penthouse. His father's company is going to close down the center. That puts Adriana in his direct path and he is instantly drawn to her. He takes orders from him father and does his bidding. Basically not the alpha I would want. Adriana a take charge take not shit woman delivers the best part of their story. It was a good story but wish Travis was more alpha.
When you read a book that not only is a PHENOMENAL read but it takes you away for the daily grind of life then you know that Erin has written the ABSOLUTE BEST BOOK. The way the characters banter back and forth is SEXY, HOT and just plain WOW. I am very happy to have found Erin as a new author to me because she writes very mind escaping romantic as sin reads that I have come to LOVE.

Andy and Travis are amazingly well written characters. As their relationship develops we begin to understand how they fit even though they are from different worlds. I love how real the reactions feel realistic to real life yet are so well written you feel for them too. I loved this book and would definitely recommend reading this book.

Loved Andy and Travis. When they met you could say it was more than hatred on Andy's ( Adriana) part. Her family had dealt with Travis's family just not him. So a judgement had already been made. She was a shock to him for her feisty personality. No one had ever talked to him like she did, he was intrigued. As time went on her view changed about him. It was quite a journey but a HEA. Very good read.
This book started out strong about the first fourth then went downhill after. This was a DNF at page 365. Parts of it were okay. The writing was about 3 stars. Parts of it were kind of awkward and stilted. Very little romance, very little sex or sexual tension. I tried to get all the way through it. I stopped once about half way and started again then gave up at of 365. I’ll try another from this author later.
Satan and Andy’s relationship is automatically on the enemies side when he is sent as a fixer to the charity where she works. No spoilers but Satan doesnt act as Andy expects….. enemies to lovers trope with lots of twists and turns. Great read.

I thought this book started a little slow , it was taking too long to get the characters and the story set up. I just wanted it to hurry up and get on with the plot. When it finally got its story settled and grabbed my attention, well, I could hardly put the book down ! There isn't any cliffhanger and ends leaving the reader satisfied.
It’s a good romance. It did give me readers anxiety. There are some pretty low characters, and you never hear what happened to them. The robber, Simon, the bad executives. Also Adriana was almost on the verge of being annoying the way she acted and judged. I really like Travis. It had a happy ending
This enemies to lover's romance have so much drama packed in it. The banter and antics between Travis and Adrianna had me laughing as I read the pages to see what is going to happen next between them.

Delicious, a little bit of everything! I love me some steamy romance, dedicated love, unwavering support, just an average gal being wined and dined by a charming, sweet billionaire. First book by this author and already looking into the next one!
DNF. Got bored and annoyed after 72%. Just too predictable, too many grammar errors and the MFC went from strong willed and independent to annoying and always worried about nothing. I just couldn't drag myself to the end of it. I stopped caring at 50% but pushed forward but at 72% I just gave up.
