Sara Cormany’s Even When: Experiencing God’s Presence During Difficult Days is 40 day devotional that deals with the rawness of life and encourages the reader to dig deep in Jesus even when the pieces of life don’t turn out the way we think they should. Ms. Cormany crafts each devotion entry subject to begin with the words Even When, then expounds on the subject with a Bible verse, question(s), and a prayer. Using her life and testimony, Ms. Cormany brings practical and sage Wisdom from someone who knows God and His Word.
Even When: Experiencing God’s Presence During Difficult Days is one of the best devotion books I have read! I used Even When: Experiencing God’s Presence During Difficult Days as part of my own personal devotion time, making notes and often reading more than only devotion entry in a setting. Sara Cormany is a new-to-me author and her Testimony really spoke to me. I love how she shared her Story in each entry. As a person with a disability, a lot of what Ms. Cormany has went through and the daily struggles she paints is raw and resonates with me. I love the “Even When” statements that Ms. Cormany shares because it shows the reader that regardless of the situation, God brings beauty out of the broken shards of our lives. I appreciated Ms. Cormany’s vulnerability and openness in each devotion entry and how she didn’t sugarcoat the difficulties and showed how God would point her in the right direction, reminding her of her Purpose and Value because in turn, the reader was also reminded of their Purpose and Value. If you are looking for a devotional to encourage you during the “Even Whens” in life, then I highly recommend Even When: Experiencing God’s Presence During Difficult Days by Sara Cormany!

I’ve been living in this devotional for a bit now and there hasn’t been a day I haven’t loved. I think the daily devo’s are true to the title in the way that they each help guide us through experiencing God’s presence during difficult days!
🩷i particularly loved day/devotion #9 which talked about how when you’re in the midst of facing a hard time and might feel put down, this time is actually a trial used to lift us and others UP! this is really relatable for me & my household lately, as we have a 3-month old and things can definitely be hard! 🤭👶🏼
🩷overall, id recommend this to anyone who is seeking some confirmation and validation that life is still enjoyable even during/through hard times. God is good, always!

When you take a road trip, often to have a companion who has made the trip before is a plus. They know the way, the wonderful, non touristy places to go, and the best places to feast. When we journey through the difficult trials and sufferings of life, to have someone who has traveled the road before us is a gift from God. Sara Cormany in her devotional Even When: Experiencing God’s Presence in Difficult Days shares with genuine, raw courage the devastating physical challenges, the shattered dreams, and the humbling experiences that drew her to the One who had made the journey before her—the Lord, Jesus Christ. If you need encouragement today or you know of someone who does, give yourself and them this book.

As someone who has been through a lot of heartbreak myself, I was excited to read these words from an author who understands pain, loss, brokenness herself.
This little devotional is not trite verses, pat answers, and spiritual fluff that makes you want to throw it across the room. If you are hurting and need something real Sara Cormany understands because she’s been there. And even there, she has met Jesus. Even there she has felt the Presence of God. I hope you are as encouraged by Sara’s story as I was.

Even When:: Experiencing God's Presence During Difficult Days --40 Daily Devotions by Sara Cormany.
Sara writes from personal experience of difficult days but also writes with a heart of faith that has been blessed by God's abundance of Grace! Each of the brief daily devotions pack so much of God's Grace and the message of His real, present help; they are well written and so very relatable. I love how each devotion has a brief "Question" section that is a helpful reflection for self assessment; and also a Prayer that is well written to connect directly to God's heart in a manner that culminates the devotional thought. And I was impressed with both the Foreward and Conclusion as they also were personal and inspirational.
This is a most excellent daily devotional and I highly recommend it!! My only negative assessment is that I wish it were a full year of devotions (365 rather than 40); but I will certainly look forward to future items published by this author, whether devotionals or a theological or inspirational book!

My husband and I have enjoyed reading this book together and are grateful for the helpful conversations it has sparked. The questions and prayer at the end of each devotion help our hearts process and apply the practical truth each lesson contains.

If I could sum up this beautiful devotional book in one word, it would be the word REAL. Sara Cormany shares real experiences, real emotions, and a real and genuine hope in Jesus.
In each moment she shares, she takes us through her struggles and pains and gives us hope through her victories. She was a "me too" friend through a difficult emotional time, and I left with the hope of Jesus deep within me.
This is one I will read again or go back to when I am in moments of battle, struggle, or pain. It will be a companion for me going forward, and I know it will bless you, too! It makes a thoughtful gift for a friend who might be struggling through a hard place right now. So get one for yourself and another to pass on to someone else.

Sara Cormany has written a life changing book that will encourage and give you hope. “Even When” will minister to your deep, heartfelt needs. She has written truth in the midst of great pain. In a world where we hide our pain and weakness lest we not look strong, Sara has openly and honestly written about life with all its deep issues. She reminds us of the strength found only in Jesus when life sends wounds that seem unrecoverable. Hope comes from deep darkness. Life comes from trust in Jesus to carry each burden and show His power made perfect in our weakness.

When I read the first few of these devotions, I did not expect to be left speechless. I was. Another author, Joni Eareckson Tada, once said, "...our souls crave an authentic witness. ... We crave a visceral story that has meat on it. A story that rises above the average." Every one of the devotions in Even When are that and more. That in vivid, personal story-based, bite-size devotions, applications, and prayers that we can chew on all day. All week. Some, all our lives.

I highly recommend this personal devotional. The writer poured her heart into each word. When we go through struggles in our journey, sometimes it feels like we are alone or no one gets what we are going through. Each daily devotion gives a glimpse to the reader of the challenges faced while clinging to hope. While a reader may not have faced the exact circumstances as the writer, the hope is still the same. I am thankful for the writer taking a courageous step to share her heart with others.

It’s as if she is putting her arms around you, saying you’re not alone, giving you her comfort. She doesn’t stop there, but points her readers to God and His ultimate comfort!

I was moved by her raw and heartfelt stories. Reading one devotion was never enough. Sara Cormany gets it! As a women with multiple chronic illnesses walking with Jesus, this book was a breath of fresh air! Her writing is real and relatable. Honestly, it’s too hard to read only one devotional a day. I highly recommend this book if you’re struggling with anything and want to experience God’s presence in the midst

The author is so open and honest about how God has used her struggles and difficult days to shape and grow her. I found the devotions to be easy to relate to with simple truths that we need to be reminded of every day. I’m proud of her for pushing through the writing process to get this book into the world. This book is Sara Cormany’s heart poured out on the page. No stranger to strife, pain, or difficult circumstance, Sara takes what’s familiar, then shines light in dark places to help readers see how they, too, can make something beautiful from the broken, turn purpose from pain. With wit and depth of wisdom, Sara brings both tears and smiles. More, her words help us know we’re not alone. Most of all, she reminds us God is always near, a friend to the broken-hearted.

I enjoyed this devotional filled with encouragement for our struggles. The author allows us to see into her struggles and shows us how to move beyond the problems to see how God is working through them in our lives. Filled with Hope!
