Despite being a rising star in the BAU unit, FBI Special Agent Hailey Rock lives in the shadow of her older sister, a sheriff in their small Midwestern town, and their parents’ favorite. But when bodies are discovered in hoop houses across farm country, Hailey realizes a killer is leaving cryptic clues—and may just be taunting them right into his next trap.

I just finished Needing You by Rylie Dark, and it was such an intense and addictive read. It’s a romantic suspense story that mixes emotional depth with danger and mystery. If you like books where the chemistry between the main characters is strong but there’s also a real sense of tension and risk, this one delivers. The plot kept me hooked — it’s about a woman trying to heal from her past. As the danger builds, so does the connection between them, and that slow-burn tension was done so well. It’s emotional, a little dark, but still gives you those heart-pounding romantic moments. The pacing is great — short chapters and lots of suspense so it’s hard to put down. The main characters feel real; they’re flawed and complicated, which makes their relationship even more interesting. That mix of mystery and romance is spot-on. Some of the twists were a little predictable. Side characters don’t get as much depth as the leads. I’d give it a solid 4/5 stars. If you enjoy romantic suspense with high stakes and a strong emotional pull, you’ll love this one.
Success at long last. The missing Rock sister was found but at a high cost. Unfortunately they had yet another serial killer to find amidst their search for Mindy. They even broke up a ring of smugglers targeting vulnerable women. This rural area had a new serial killer targeting addicts and was trying to ‘free them’ using drugs and mummification techniques. Things are finally starting to settle down when word of yet another group of people going missing emerge. Hailey and her partner are still in the early days of their romance but murders keep getting in the way.

I had a hard time putting these down . Read 7of them in less than a week. I only gave them a 4 because the grammatical errors, especially in the last 4 drove me crazy. I'm not great with grammar, but they were bad enough to be annoying. Despite that I could hardly stop reading.
Another good addition to the series, Needing You closes some important chapters in Hailey's personal life and at the same time she will crush on the operations of a sex trafficking ring and a cult. Full of action, Needing You, is one of the best stories in the series. I thank Ms. Dark for this ARC.
Pretty much in line with the rest of the series. The grammatical errors are annoying but I can overlook them. This one had a unique mo that I enjoyed as well as more time being spent on finding Mindy. Please, please give us a female perpetrator!
This series doesn't disappoint, each book is a good as the last. The plots draw you in and the characters and their interactions keep you interested. A surprise twist regarding the lost sister Mindy.
WHELP. This whole book (and series) was just disappointing. The hoop house killer was weird and poorly written. The Mindy saga finally comes to an end. For me, it was a disappointing one. Of all the storylines that drama could have gone down an all women cult was not on my bingo card.
This was so incredibly enticing and it kept me on the edge of my seat! So glad Mindy has been found & can’t wait to finally know what’s really going on!
