Author still needs work

Was this closure to the series? The Las two books were good. Could of used a little more on the relationship with Gram an Hailey a little romance never hurts a story.

Thought I was out, but maybe not. (I am concerned about a book dropping once a month come fall, the editor can't do a decent job now so I have no hope for that!) This story was written much better than the last book. The man drowning others to appease a horned God because his sister drowned on his watch is par for the course with Rylie's stories. I am wondering how many serial killers a tiny town can have, even fictionally. The Mindy/teacher angle was interesting.

So I just finished Taking You by Rylie Dark, and it was a pretty wild ride. It’s a fast-paced psychological thriller — super intense from the start and doesn’t let up. The story revolves around a kidnapping, and it dives into some dark territory. What I liked most was the tension. The pacing is quick, and there’s always this underlying unease that keeps you flipping pages. The main character is solid — tough, smart, but not overdone — and the mind games between the victim, the kidnapper, and the investigator were done well. Some twists I didn’t see coming (though if you read a lot of thrillers, you might catch a few). On the downside, some of the side characters felt a little flat, like they were just there to move things along. And yeah, it gets pretty graphic in parts, so heads up if you’re not into darker content. If you're into thrillers that mess with your head and move fast, this one’s worth picking up. I'd give it a solid 4 out of 5.

This is a great series, each story building on the prior story so best to read in order. The plot was interesting and had several twists. The mystery of the disappearance of Mindy has finally been wrapped up with a surprise and hopefully she will recover. The relationship between the sisters has improved with the discovery of the facts behind Mindy's kidnapping. Looking forward to more in the series.

Amazing, intriguing ending to a great series! I’m so glad that I came upon this ad on FB. Now to explore more titles by Rylie Dark
