He’s my older cousin’s best friend and my new roommate… Andrés Mendez is my older cousin’s best friend.

He’s also freshly single and my new temporary roommate.

Oh, and I’ve had a crush on him for years.

Still, living together for a small time shouldn’t mean or change anything.

I refuse to give in to my emotions,

no matter how charming he is or how smooth his words are.

Because, I mean, is giving in ever worth it?

I, Mariana Carrillo, am not sure I want to find out. But I’m about to.

Latinx Romance
🇲🇽MCs
Friends with benefits to lovers 🤭
Lots of food mentions 🤤🇲🇽 I loved the date he took her on!
Good amount of smut 😌
Loved the relationship shown of the cousins 🥹
Also really liked how they both took time to get to know each other and how he was respectful of her pace! He had just gotten out of an on & off relationship and was also hesitant about her cousins approval.
My only critique was that it wasn’t explicitly said they’re Mexican but it is insinuated by the food, customs and the Spanish spoken 🥲 I do wish it was said but eh

It’s extremely hard for me to get into romance books these days, but I loved this book. I thought it was so cute. The back and forth between the characters was just the right amount of hesitation without making me want to scream. I thought Andres and aria flowed together so well, and their storyline progressed at such a natural pace. Cute, cute, cute is all I can say!

More like 3.5/5 for me ⭐️

So, I wanted to love this book, I really did… but it just wasn’t for me. It was a cute story, but the plot was lacking a bit, it was a little awkward, and throughout the whole book I kept thinking that the conversations and even the spice between the main characters were just so forced and didn’t seem natural. It just felt very young-adult trying to be mature.

The writing imo didn’t flow too well either, it was like while I was reading one sentence, it immediately jumped into something completely different and almost irrelevant that it made me have to read what I had JUST read over again 🙃 it also seemed really juvenile, it just felt like they were teens in high school rather than adults in their mid-20s.

As for the story, it went back and forth a lot and didn’t seem like there was any actual progression to it, since the only real conflict in the story is that the main fmc is an overthinker and she was terrified to tell her older cousin that she’s sleeping with his best friend. Any other conflict that I thought could’ve made the story a little more interesting was resolved literally in a page, which made it feel unrealistic. I did love that there was trust and communication between the characters. I do also wish Aria’s backstory was explained a little more in depth since her anxiety regarding relationships was referenced a lot. I genuinely think more things in the book could have been written more in depth to give the story a bit more oomph basically.

I did appreciate the Latin culture sprinkled throughout the book and there were definitely some cute scenes between Andrés and Mariana, but as of now the story and writing imo needed a little more work.

But even though, I still want to say thank you so so much to Dominique for choosing me as one of the arc readers for this book! I see so much potential in her writing and I’m excited to see her growth and where the series goes from here!

Dominique is one of my favorite authors and I waited some time (patiently and without pressure) for her next book. Her books are a comfort for me and I find myself a lot in them.
Most Definitely Worth It is a freaking slow burn and I was all for it. Mariana is up in her head a lot and overthinks everything and I found myself a lot in that. Then there is Andres, all hot and understanding and all-around good. When he becomes her roommate Mariana's head and body are in overdrive.

The tension between them is so thick and sparkly that slow burn becomes painful (in a good way - for the reader) but definitely painful for them.

Family means a lot to both of them and fear of disappointing them and not knowing what they'll think if she does something for herself drives her crazy. Many of us know how hard it is to go out of our heads and do what we want to do. To do what our hearts and head wants.
I read this story slowly. I didn't want to miss a beat, a word, a moment. I want to enjoy it because waiting for another book would be torture. But best believe I'll be returning to these two before the next one, many, many times.

Dominique Laura your books are inspiring to me. Even you as a person are inspiring. From the beginning that I discovered your books they were real, I can find myself in them, I feel like I'm not alone in all those feelings, quirks and all the jeez that surrounds me, alone. Your characters are written so realistically that there is no other option to love them.
Thank you for all those stories so far. You are amazing and your stories are remarkable and change....at least me (can't talk for everyone).

This book was a spicy, sweet, cozy contemporary romance. This was a wonderful introduction to this series and I loved the Latine influence that was felt everywhere.

Andres and Mariana are acquaintances through Mariana's cousin and wind up living together temporarily where sparks fly. Mariana has had a crush on him for years and now he is newly single which should be the worst time to start anything so why can't they stay away from each other?

If you are looking for a low stakes romance without too much angst then this would be a good choice, just two adults who are attracted to each other trying to figure out if friends with benefits could morph into something more. I found both leads likable and charming and enjoyed many of their interactions.

The plot moved along well but I found the fist half a bit disjointed and did not feel invested in the characters as much as I did in the second half. I wanted more romance in the beginning not just steam and more interactions between them outside of their apartment. I like the cousins together and wish I would get more of that and other family members or friends in the sequels and just fun times overall. Also more Pudge the guinea pig.

Overall a solid entry and promising start. Thanks to the author for the ARC.

“You really do bring out the best in me, so I’m the best version of myself when I’m with you,”

Mariana aka Aria always just kind of had a crush on Andreś or Dre. But he’s also her older cousins’s best friend so she knows it can’t happen.
Then all of sudden they’re temporary roommates. As they get to know each other more, the bigger her crush gets. It seems like Dre is into her too but can they make it work? Is it worth all the risk?

Love the slow burnish feel to their story as they get to know each other more. Dre was such a perfect balance of sweet and spicy 😉, this man has a way with words especially in the bedroom 🥵.

Love Aria’s relationship with her primos (cousins) especially because it reminded me of my own cousins. We all grew up together, basically in the same house, and we also used to play games that is both fun and competitive. I miss my cousins 😭

Can’t wait for more of the cousins stories!

This book was a simple sweet and easy to digest read.

The main plot is that the main female character is so in her head and slowly decides to give the main male character a chance.

It was sweet and whole hearted. The mmc waiting on the mfc was patient, amazing, sweet, and loving.

I truly enjoy who much of the Mexican culture was included in this novel. I would have liked for there to be a bit more drama to the plot but over all it was a great simple read that I enjoyed!

Lastly!! Loved the hamster she had and how that was basically her emotional support animal! 🐹

🩷 Close proximity/roommates

lovedddd this book. This felt like my childhood wrapped up in a hug. The cousin/family dynamic, all the food, closeness, and togetherness. Aria all in her head is so me, i just saw so much of myself in her, she was herself , fun and quirky and i just loved her.
Dre was just SWOON 😍. Gentle, patient and romantic. I loved that there was no third act breakup (we know i hate that lol). Dual POV, spice, and healthy communication all i could ever ask for. There was also playlist which i loved! I Very much enjoyed and recommend this one !

This book is pretty much what happens when the guy you've had a crush for years becomes your roommate.

The not so forbidden aspect was cute and their interactions were adorable. I loved how they start building a friendship even though they secretly had feelings for each other. I liked this story a lot, the familial relationship and so on.

I really liked this book and if there are more I will read!!!!!

I got an ARC of this book. All thoughts are my own.

This was a cute, quick read. The relationship with Andres and Aria has you smiling throughout the book. It was nice how they got to know each other more and how that just sparked the romance even more. Andres seemed really ready to move past his last break up and it took Aria a little more to get on board and through her self doubt.
I also loved the family aspect of the story. That had me smiling as I was reading the banter between them all.
And the spider scene - I would have died.

This book is the perfect quick & funny feel-good read!
The relationship & banter between Andres and Mariana had me smiling all the way through and their journey was beautifully portrayed.

As a slow burn, there was just the right amount of spice to keep things interesting. The family dynamic of the primos was a delightful addition.

With dual POVs, strong friendships, and effective communication, this book is a sweet, quirky, and spicy page-turner. Highly recommend!

What a sweet story - with spice! - about what happens when your crush becomes your roommate!

Most Definitely Worth It will leave you with all the warm fuzzies! I loved the family dynamic and that there wasn't a lot of drama. Also the spider appearance had me laughing! With a snuggly guinea pig side kick Aria is fun to get to know and Dre will have you swooning!

Dominique Laura wrote such a sweet story.
I connected with the characters, being from a Latin family, everything was so familiar and very reminiscent to my upbringing.
Now to the love story, it was just fun and heartfelt and slow burn, love how this two stared it out, getting to know each other more little by little. I loved Dre he was perfect for Aria. This was a fun, light read that I enjoyed a lot.

As soon as I stumbled across the announcement post on social media, I couldn't wait to read this book! I've been wanting to get into more of this author's work and I was so happy I got to with this book! I got right into it. I enjoyed this story so very much!

Mariana and Andrés both pulled into their journey! These two have been in each other's lives for some time as Andrés is best friends with Mariana's cousin. Now they are roommates. Can Mariana and Andrés handle living together and things stay the same? Or can it ignite so much more between them?

I loved how I was pulled in by both Mariana and Andrés, the way they had me cheering them on, and how they were brought closer together. Mariana was so relatable and I adored her. Andrés had me falling for him. I enjoyed getting to see how these two would tackle their feelings, their close proximity, and the whole cousins best friend aspect which drew me in even more. Mariana and Andrés shared such wonderful chemistry and the ways in which they connected was beautiful. Both of them got right into my heart!

I loved what the family brought to the story and the bonds shared.

Sometimes the one for you can be the best kind of surprise which shined through Mariana and Andrés's journey!

With Most Definitely Worth It, Ms.Laura has created a great page turner that brought heart, spice, and so many feels! This was such a breath of fresh air read. I am so looking forward to more from this author! 💗

ARC Review💗

First off Pudge was def my favorite! I loved how the author put so much character and life into him. The relationship between the fmc and him was top tier.

I also loved how patient Dre was with Aria, he understood she needed more time to process everything. Instead of pressuring her he reassured her on how much he also wanted her/them together.

Aria is an extreme over thinker, but I’m so glad that never really got in her way. Even when she took a step back to take a breather she always came back and gave it a chance. She never let it get in the way to what she wanted and always communicated to Dre on what was going on in that head of hers.

This book really resonated with me it made me miss when my family used to get together almost every weekend.. playing games together, eating, and just overall being there for one another just like the family dynamic is in this book.

I’m so excited for the rest of the series to come out! I feel like everyone is so close to one another but also so closed off that we know nothing of the other characters. Which makes me itch for more of them!!

I 1000% recommend this book if you love…

💗 Strong Family Dynamic
💗 Friends with Benefits
💗 AMAZING SIDEKICK (hype man) 🐹
💗 Cousins Best Friend
💗 Close Proximity
