Johnny “Thunder” Thunderbird, a Lakota American Indian, has been tasked with designing and opening an American Indian Cultural Center in South Florida built to teach non-natives about their history and culture. Isabel “Isa” Gonzalez, a Cuban legal immigrant, has caught Thunder’s eye and he is willing to beg, tease, dry-clean her clothes, and even embarrass himself just to get a date with her. Their relationship is hot and tumultuous with a lot of twists and turns. Can these two very different people from different walks of life make it work in this ever changing world? Will their families break them apart or bring them together?
This book kept my attention with its educational pieces on American Indian Culture and its variety of characters. Characters you love and characters you love to hate! This book has love, lies, deception and murder! What more could a girl ask for? My one negative (for me, not everyone) is that the book does have very descriptive sexual language and scenes that I would say border on porn. That is a me problem, not everyone’s problem. It would make a great Lifetime movie!
Romance and suspense combine with interesting facts about Native American culture. Loved the romance and intense relationship between the two main characters and the intriguing story that develops. Book definitely kept my interest! Strongly recommend this book
