Lucy is such a fun character - she's straightforward, bold, and knows what she wants. While she doesn't take crap from anyone, she does have feelings and isn't immune to mean co-workers getting to her. She can't help it that she's born into the family she is. She's a Sullivan but she's part of the Easton bunch of Magic Island in Hawaii...wealthy, very important, and dominant in the business world on the island.

So, in Book 1, we learned Chance's and Maddie's story. Then in Book 2, Piper's and Landon's romance was told. This is Book 3, My Uncle's Irresistible Best Friend and it's Lucy's story. Chance, Landon, and Baxter's feisty and fun younger cousin. Her Mom, Aunt Felicia, is sister to their mother, who passed away, and she cooks a family dinner every Sunday just as she promised her sister on her death bed that "she would keep Uncle Dan and his boys fed". The boys mean well but tend to butt into Lucy's business a bit more than she'd prefer, especially right now...who knows how everyone will feel about who she's just started spending time with...

Jackson Kent, or "Jack" to Lucy, is quite a bit older and he just happens to be Uncle Dan's best friend. Lucy is a journalist and she was tasked to create "her big story" by her boss, so she decides to do her story based on her Uncle Dan as she has always looked up to him and she believes this is a story that will catch the public's attention and gain her more respect as a journalist and not just a "privileged" member of the Easton/Sullivan family. To do this, she must interview the people in the business world who are close to him to help tell her story. Instead of setting up a meeting through his office though, she decides to just stop by his place one morning. Unannounced. This may have been fine except she happens to share the name of someone he was expecting and was then mistaken to be the new nanny for his young boy...without a chance to clear the air and explain who she really was he just introduced Lucy and his son to each other and dashed out the door! This couldn't have been more irritating for Lucy as she doesn't really like kids. But somehow she made an impression on this kid. Maybe it's her bluntness and honesty.

This is a well-written story that'll keep you turning the pages and looking forward to seeing what will happen next. I love the author's writing style and I'm really enjoying getting to know each of these characters.

While I believe it would be most enjoyable for someone to start at Book 1 of the Magic Island series, each one can be read as a standalone in that Summer introduces everyone well enough to not feel like you're missing anything crucial in order to enjoy the story.

Get ready for another installment with the Easton family on Magic Island. Lucy Sullivan, cousin, but more like little sister to the Easton brothers, is all set to write and interview the older and extremely attractive Jackson Kent, friend to her Uncle Dan and coworker of the Easton empire. Lucy is a journalist. She wants to give it her all on this assignment and give accolades to her Uncle on being a successful but retired business tycoon. But after a case of mistaken identity, Jackson thinks Lucy is the nanny, an attraction forms instantly. It refuses to stop!! Lucy is drawn closer to Jack. Big time hottie!!🥵 She doesn't even like kids, but she's developing a bond to Jack's 7yr old son Jamie. How is this happening to her? Dohh! I like Lucy. She's sassy and speaks her mind. She has to keep this relationship, is it a relationship(?), from her family though.🙊 Riiiight! Like that's going to happen.😆😆

Jackson Kent is a passionate and patient man. He's older than Lucy, he's 45 and she's 30, but the way she makes him feel is unlike anything he has ever felt before. Lucy is headstrong and set in her ways. He wants her. And he's going to give it his all to make sure she stays with him. He calls her out on things she does, gently making her face things. Like her being bullied at her job and talking about it. And Lucy put them in their place too fyi.🫡 But Lucy won't share the emotional side of things with him... not yet. Little by little, he will show her that you can't have the physical without the mental strings wrapped to the heart. He has to show her that she can trust and lean on him.

This book, is the best one in the series imo. Although that could change. I have to wait for Baxter's story b/c he's my favorite Easton brother.❤️😉❤️ But this story has great character development, the close bond when the family gets together is hilarious, plenty of steam and teasing heat between Lucy and Jack🔥🔥🔥🔥, drama, the building of their family, news of a baby, suspense from Jack's past; overall a fantastic read. Recommend. I did get annoyed with the family for not listening to Lucy and what she wanted, but hey, that's family. It's what they do. Happy reading!!🍿🍿

🍦🍦Thank you for an early read via Bookfunnel. This is my honest critique of the story.🍦🍦

Lucy is a journalist from a wealthy family and when her boss gives her and some co-workers a project to do or work. Lucy decides to do a story on her uncle this has her interviewing several people that have known her uncle in different aspects of his life. When she goes to interview Jack, a misunderstanding happens, and he thinks that she is his new nanny. When she is left with his son, she handles the situation until Jack comes back. Jack is stunned when he realizes he left a stranger alone with his son and rushes home. Its not long before he recognizes Lucy with his son. Sparks fly between them, and they grow closer as she continues to work on the story about her uncle. Things heat up between them and neither know what to expect from the other. Will this become more than they planned on? Can they be together?

This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

Lucy Sullivan turns up at her uncle’s best friend’s house to do an impromptu interview. As a journalist, she’s sent out by her boss to find the big story . She wants to base it on her uncle Dan and thinks it’s a good idea to talk to others in the business world to create it. She could of course called his office but thought what the heck. He mistakes her for someone else when he opens the door and promptly introduces her to his son and walks out the door….well one thing leads to another when Jackson realises who she is but can’t resist and they spend lots of time together doing ‘ interviews’ . Falling for him is a bad idea, falling pregnant by him is just ludicrous. His ex is putting her spoke in too . What’s a gal to do? …. Great story , immersive page turner.

Magic Island Book 3

Lucy works as a journalist and has been sent to find a big story. She decides to do one on her uncle Dan but when she goes to interview Jack, one of his business associates and best friend, he mistakes her for his son's new nanny. Once the misunderstanding has been sorted she gets to do her interview and work on her story but can't seem to stay away from Jack and his son with there being a strong attraction between them both. But with his ex not wanting to leave them alone, can they make anything of what is growing between them?

A lovely slow-build romance, with great chemistry between the characters, action, drama, light humour and some brilliant twists.

A case of mistaken identity has Lucy in a nanny role! When things are ironed out Jackson can't deny the sparks that smolder when around her and his son also thinks the world of her the only problem is that he is her uncle's best friend. Will Lucy and Jackson get to explore a relationship and see where it takes them. This story kept me glued to the pages from start to finish.

Loving the Forbidden

Jackson is expecting a nanny when Lucy comes to his door for an interview which propels their story into forbidden relationship territory. The chemistry between them is hot and heavy but when his ex threatens their happiness it will take her whole family and their love to get through various obstacles. This was a charming story that was written well and full of heat.

Fell in love with Lucy and Jack. This story gives you intrigue, suspicion, and kidnapping with a strong family bond that makes my heart hurt. You meet Lucy who is strong willed, hardworking, and witting. Trying to get her career off without the cocktails of her family. Enter Jack, one of her interviewees and intsa attraction, sparks fly. Absolutely loved it! I can’t wait to read Baxter’s story next.

So good!

Absolutely taboo perfection! Lucy and Jack share a comfortable connection with little angst. I liked Jamie as well and watching Lucy blend in the family dynamic.
