This is a suspense thriller that can easily be read and enjoyed by young adults as well as the older ones like me. Brianna is a young woman who had all of her promising life in front of her until a cheerleading accident results in a broken back, drug addiction and family issues that cannot be resolved. When her older sister Morgan forces her to leave her home because of her ongoing addiction, Brianna finds herself facing what she thinks is a hopeless situation until she is invited to participate in The Woman’s Leadership Program, an exclusive program by invitation only. In choosing to participate, Brianna quickly rises in rank at the Enclave, the mansion where the chosen girls live under the mentorship of demanding Elizabeth Collins. The creepy factor is definitely there right from the beginning of Brianna’s arrival at the Enclave. There is quite a bit of foreshadowing and the clues obviously point in a sinister direction. The characters are not particularly likable as they are mostly shallow and irresponsible, but some are relatable. I liked getting to know Morgan who has to learn to accept her own life and be grateful for it. The plot moves along at a good pace but I did find that there was a lot of repetition of events, perhaps to drive home the clues about what was really happening there. Brianna’s absentee parents bothered me because I did not feel that their continuing to travel around without hearing from their youngest child was not realistic but it did add to the angst of the story. The characters were as varied as the girls who come to the Enclave and included an interesting young man named Kai who is Elizabeth’s son and a thorn in her flesh who just seems to hang around to make trouble. I liked the secondary characters like Wayne, the delivery truck driver who befriended Brianna and tried to help her. He was gruff but also personable and very believable. All in all, the book was a good read. I did figure out early what was actually happening at the Enclave because the clues seemed to point in that obvious direction. The ending was satisfying and the faith that filled the book was much appreciated in a novel that could have been dark. Instead, it offered light and hope as well as the idea that family ties are invaluable.

How many chances do you give an addict before you stop supporting them financially? It's a tough question to answer.
Oldest sister Morgan is tired of helping Brianna, perceived favorite child. Morgan kicks her out and Brianna is on her own. Both sister learn a lot about themselves and their relationship with each other and their parents.
This novel delivers an at times intense tale. Pages were turning. Loved the dictionary and scripture references sprinkled throughout the novel.
My gratitude to the author for a complimentary e-copy of the novel. I was not required to post a review and all opinions expressed are my own.

This book will pull you in and have you rooting for Brianna to leave the situation she is in and sympathizing with Morgan as she begins to fear for her sister. Daly writes a great story to show how Brianna is pulled in and why, despite red flags, she stays. The ending has you reading quickly to find out how the situation will be resolved.

1. What do potential readers need to know most about the main character?
As a child, Brianna fearlessly marched down the path of faith called the Romans Road. She made an unwavering commitment to Christ at youth camp, cementing her unwavering dedication to her beliefs. However, life has taken an unforeseen twist, and she resides on the streets before going to live with Elizabeth. Nevertheless, amidst the obstacles she encounters, Brianna discovers supportive hands in the most unexpected of places.
2. Which supporting character caught your interest the most?
Wayne confidently served as the delivery person for Elizabeth, despite his nagging intuition that something was amiss with the Women’s Leadership Program.
3. What journey do(es) the main character(s) take?
Brianna’s journey took an unexpected turn when her sister decided to cast her out into the streets. Despite the adversity, she refused to let her circumstances define her. Meanwhile, her parents embarked on a nomadic adventure, downsizing from their house to an RV as they traversed the vast expanses of the country. Fate eventually led Brianna to a luxurious mansion, where she found herself surrounded by fellow young women, all preparing for the esteemed Women’s Leadership Program. Yet, appearances can be deceiving, and Brianna soon discovered that not everything was as it appeared at first glance. The stage was set for a gripping tale of resilience, ambition, and the secrets that lay beneath the surface.
4. How is the writing style or quality of the writing?
Although the premise of this book is challenging, the author’s writing style undoubtedly tugs at the heartstrings.
5. (for Christian fiction) Are there spiritual truths to be gleaned from the story?
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let
your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
6. Why did you give it the star rating you did?
I give “Where Is My Sister” a rating of 3/5 because of the challenging read.
7. Is the title memorable and/or emotion-grabbing?
Yes! As a Celebrate Recovery leader, this title resonates deeply with me.
8. Does the title ask a question that must be answered?
Certainly! The thought of what transpired with her sister has intrigued me.

If you’ve ever wondered where homeless people come from, Jane Daly’s Where is My Sister offers one possible answer. Her principal character Brianna was a high school girl with a bright future until a crippling accident left her begging on street corners.
Fortune seems to smile on Brianna when a kind young woman named Emily invites her to join the Women’s Leadership Program. Immediately, Brianna finds herself living in a mansion-like house with other girls her age. Her benefactor, Elizabeth, grooms these youngsters with leadership literature and exercise programs designed to build their self-confidence and sense of self-worth.
But things don’t seem to add up. Elizabeth’s Christian-based curriculum clashes with her autocratic personality, resulting in an uneasy atmosphere in which the girls’ must surrender their cell phones and undergo a mysterious ritual called the Purge. While Brianna earns a privileged position in the program, other girls occasionally vanish from the mansion overnight. Elizabeth’s mysterious phone calls and the sudden appearance of her seductive son Kai deepen the mystery, until Brianna doesn’t know who to trust.
Meanwhile, her adopted sister Morgan wallows in guilt about the conflict that drove Brianna from her home. Aided by her best friend and a kind-hearted delivery man, Morgan embarks on a search that adds a suspenseful twist to the story.
This novel has a lot going for it, particularly the way Brianna and Morgan rely on Bible stories and verses to find paths through the encroaching darkness. Daly develops her main characters in ways that draw us into their hearts. On the minus side, I was disappointed at some loose ends. The author goes out of her way to point out that the mansion is always cold, but we never learn why. A sugar-free diet regimen is inexplicably interrupted by the sudden appearance of pastry. At one point Elizabeth prays to “a mysterious power”, but we don’t hear the prayer or learn who or what that power may be. Most important, Elizabeth’s personal background remains a mystery.
Otherwise, I liked the story very much. Daly is a fine narrator with a talent for pacing and building suspense. Her motive in crafting a mystery around a serious social problem is a noble one that deserves our attention. I am happy to recommend Where is My Sister to encourage readers to think compassionately about people who fall into traps and struggle to find their way out of them.

Where Is My Sister? is a YA suspense novel. The main character, Briana, is a young adult focused on things like cheerleading, college, what her peers gossip about her, and security from her parents. It’s clearly for a younger audience, but as a middle-aged woman, I was still gripped by the story. There’s a coming-of-age aspect to the story and satisfying character growth for several of the characters. (Basically, I recommend Daly’s book to everyone ages 15 or so and up!)
Briana encounters a cult-like organization, the Women’s Leadership Program. The leader, Elizabeth, is so cunning and charismatic and palpable that it feels like she is based on a real person. The organization reaches out to vulnerable people and does help them, but there are strict rules… as if the Women’s Leadership Program really was a cult. It’s all very convincing and hard to tell if Elizabeth is trying to help the girls in a tough-love manner or if she’s part of something sinister.
Whether Elizabeth is on the up-and-up or if she’s evil, I won’t say (spoilers). But Daly wrote her character so well that she’ll stick in my memory for a long time.
Bonus: Daly includes book club discussion questions at the end!
Overall, this is an excellent Christian suspense story that addresses serious, real-life issues. Five stars!

Where is My Sister by Jane Daly is the first book I’ve read by this author. I really didn’t know what to expect. The story was so engrossing and frightening. And the family dynamic, while different from mine, was very relatable.
The suspense pulled me in completely. The characters were so well drawn. I just couldn’t stop reading. Especially once I found out … oops! Can’t finish that sentence. It would totally be a spoiler. This was quite a different take on a growing danger in today’s world. The fact that it could actually happen made it even more dreadful.
So many things in this book changed my perspective on how I relate to my own family, my own world and, most importantly, my own faith. Watching Brianna come to true faith was heartwarming. The softening of Morgan’s also touched my heart. And showed me that we can all change, with Jesus in our lives.
There is so much more that I wish I could say about this book, but I recommend that you read it to find the hidden gems for yourself. I so want there to be a sequel and I can’t wait to read other books by Jane Daly. I was honored to receive an ARC from the author.

This is a new author for me which I am happy I got the chance to pick up and read this book. I look forward to seeing what is next for this author. I found this book to be well written and written with alot of heart. This is a story that took me an emotional roller coaster in parts and had me sitting on the edge of my seat the next. I enjoyed how the author used details to not only make the story realistic but hard to put down. I enjoyed how the characters pulled me into their world with ease from the start. They are connectable, relateable and kept me turning pages fast. I enjoyed watching their growth which added to the story and made it easy to read. This is a fast paced story about Morgan and her missing sister. She has some guilt about kicking Bri out and is not about to stop looking for her. You don't want to miss what happens in this story. This is a must read and you won't regret picking it up. I highly recommend this book.

This is the first book I have read by Jane Daly but she is in my ‘read her books again’ category. She took a very real danger in today’s world and wove a story that shows why it happens so often.
Brianna is a young woman trying to turn her life around. But her sister Morgan is far too familiar with her failures, so when it appears Brianna has relapsed, Morgan doesn’t believe Brianna’s claims. She kicks Brianna out.
When Brianna meets Emily, she is a prime candidate to be lured into a dangerous situation. Emily introduces Brianna to Elizabeth and the women’s‘empowerment’ group she leads, Brianna has reservations.
When Kai, Elizabeth’s son shows up at the home Rlizabeth runs Brianna has reservations about him too. As Brianna begins to doubt Elizabeth, she winders who to trust.
Has her awareness to danger come to late? Will Morgan’s delayed concern help or hurt?
I received an ARC to read with no requirement or expectation for anything but an honest review.

This book had all the “feels”, suspense, jealousy, fear, confusion as well as lost women needing a place to stay and help with basic needs. An organization taunted as a women’s leadership training place had drawn in many young, mostly blond women. Their basic needs were met, food, clothing, shelter and encouragement from Elizabeth the head of this group.
Brianna was homeless after her sister threw her out on her ear. She struggled with finding food, places to lay her head and safety from those also roaming the streets. After a young woman found her and took her to Elizabeth, things started looking up, or did they?
A suspenseful read that had me guessing from one page to the next on who to believe, and who to trust among all the characters.
I received a complimentary ARC ebook from the publisher but was not required to write a review.

This is a fascinating novel exploring psychological manipulation. This brave author takes on homelessness, addiction and recovery, sex trafficking, adoption dynamics, and trauma.
Daly portrays her major characters well and deeply explores the challenges of mixed-ethnic adoption.
I felt for them, was frustrated with them, and rooted for them throughout. She also draws an excellent portrait of Elizabeth Collins. It’s easy to be drawn into Brianna’s confusion with how to feel about Elizabeth.
This is a clean read. Christianity plays a major factor in the story. The book kept me reading. The writing was well crafted. Here’s a challenge for the reader: Count how many different types of gazes and looks characters can give. There are also some well-placed and creative metaphors that I appreciated.

Wow, what an awesome book. I needed to know what was going to happen, and literally couldn't put the book down, especially toward the end. I believe I was up past 2am to finish it.
The book was different than what I thought it was going to be in one sense, but I figured out quite early what was going on in the grand scheme of things. I don't think it was meant to be a huge surprise honestly.
The book is told from the viewpoint of both Brianna and Morgan. They are sisters who until recently were living together. But Brianna had been thrown out and was now living on the streets, until she is befriended and taken in to a Woman's Leadership Program. Morgan hadn't really given her sister a second thought at first, figuring she was doing okay with friends. So, while Morgan doesn't know where Brianna is, we see Brianna going through this "leadership" program. But, is everything as it seems? There are definitely suspicious things going on, things that I suspected from the get-go. So, yes, this book is suspenseful, but there isn't the mystery I assumed there would be from the title. The reader knows exactly WHERE she is, but because we do know, we know what she is going through and get the sense of suspense from realizing this. And on Morgan's end, we can feel the tension grow as she realizes her sister is probably in grave danger.
I did see on Amazon that this book is rated as being for teens, and I don't think I'd want my younger teens reading it. There is nothing sexual in detail, but there is mention of rape, and making out but not going all the way, and of having a certain physical exam to check for virginity. Also when I think of books for teenagers, to me the main cast of characters would be teens. However the majority of the characters in the story are young adults.
Yes an awesome book, clean reading, great focus on Scripture and the Lord, including parallels to two biblical stories, just not one of want my teens reading, so I wasnt sure why it was listed that way on Amazon.
Definitely a book I highly recommend.
I was given this book as a part of the launch team but was not required to write a positive review. These are my own honest thoughts.

I love when a book offers up something different than what you expected! The suspense, the depth of pain both characters go through will have you cheering for Brianna—no, Morgan, actually both.
An easy story to follow and relatable since we all probably know someone who has made poor life choices and then must choose to continue that path or climb back out of the pit they're in.
I recommend this book for a great - non formulaic read! Go for the element of surprise.

Jane manages the tough topic of human trafficking well. She ties in personal connections most readers can relate to: the perfect kid in the family versus the one who struggles; the questions around addiction—the gray areas of helping versus enabling and healthy boundaries versus mercy. This is a very tense, gripping story that helps us realize how easy it is for vulnerable people to become disenfranchised and fall prey to organizations and individuals who want to take advantage of them. Though the book deals with a tough topic, Jane brings God into the picture enough to keep a thread of hope alive that grows into triumph.

"Where Is My Sister?" is an interesting fictional story about a young, homeless woman who thinks she found a way forward with a "Women's Leadership Program" that offers her a fancy place to stay, three great meals a day, and training she needs to overcome her setbacks. But soon she realizes this program isn't about leadership at all.
I read this free copy from the publishing to give my honest review. While the story lagged for me a bit in spots, it's certainly a timely and important tale. If nothing else, this sheds light on another aspect of the human trafficking crisis.
PS - the story is not graphic in its details and would be safe for teen readers.

Do you feel loved? Everyone wants to feel loved. Accepted. Special. Like they are part of a family. But what happens when you lose that feeling? Brianna’s tragic story goes from having everything to losing it all and living on the street. Jane Daly did a fabulous job making me fall in love with Brianna. As I turned each page, I felt like I was sitting in the room with Brianna, watching her story unfold. Daly’s descriptive details will have you longing for more. I look forward to reading more books by this fabulous author since they are always inspirational and uplifting.

Jane Daly's best book so far!
When Brianna, the golden child, suffers from a freak accident, it derails her entire life. However, older sister Morgan doesn't have much sympathy, especially since their parents have taken off on their planned RV trip, leaving Brianna behind for Morgan to care for. When the two girls have a falling out. Brianna finds a program that promises to train her as a leader. As for Morgan, all she knows is that her sister has suddenly disappeared and no one seems to know what has happened to her.

This is the first book that I have read by the author, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I enjoyed the fast pace of the story and how she wove a very realistic scenario into a wonderful story. There is a lot going on, with Morgan looking for Bri after making the difficult decision to kick her out of her home. I can only imagine what it would be like to be in her shoes! The author does a wonderful job writing the characters and their stories. I look forward to reading more by her!

Well written and captivating without gory details
Faith in God, and returning to faith are themes throughout this mystery that keeps one mostly guessing and very interested. Very early in the book, I thought I would put it down finish the next day. But no, I ended up reading to a late hour and finishing it because it kept the action going. Great hooks, solid characters and a unique storyline. Loved it.

If you want a book that is intriguing, full of suspense and has Biblical truths this is the one for you! The characters were like real people to me. I felt like I had to pray for them. I wanted to get to the end of the story to see if everything worked out.

Jane Daly’s Where is My Sister? isn’t a predictable sex trafficking story. I enjoyed reading Brianna’s journey and inner conflict as she learned to discern between outward appearances and truth. Daly clearly portrayed the heroine’s personal character growth from weakness to strength. I also appreciated the author’s gradual revelation of Kai’s role in the story and ulterior motives. The writing flows smoothly, making Where is My Sister? perfect for a summer read.

Wow. Not what I expected, but Daly deftly presents this frightening topic. Brianna stole this mother’s heart. I heard myself urging her to hurry. She also draws attention to the feelings of the children, not only in a mixed family situation, but of being adopted. Intriguing, touching, and suspenseful.

Intriguing story that made me think about how evil lurches in unlikely places and is very skilled at pulling us into its web. Great story about unlikely sisters and the weird dynamic of sisters, to support or to judge. So many good themes from sisterhood, human trafficking, good vs evil, adverse situations leading to personal growth, the Bible, and Gods sovereignty.

Jane Daly's story highlights the nightmare scenario young people today are at risk of experiencing. Where is My Sister? realistically details how easy it is for the vulnerable to be victimized in today's world. In this suspenseful story, Brianna must rely on her wits, her faith, and her family bond to survive. A great read!

"Where is my Sister" is written with beauty and sensitivity around the issue of human trafficking and homelessness. Jane Daly's characters are honestly portrayed and believable. I especially appreciated the main character's genuine faith walks; they weren't plastic Christians, but grappled with their faith in the midst of life-changing events. Great read, I could hardly put it down!

his book kept me flipping pages, on the edge of my seat. I love the author's writing style. It fit well with the story. This is an important read. Although about human trafficking, it doesn't contain graphic content. Thanks, Jane Daly, for calling attention to this subject.

Jane Daly weaves a chilling, cautionary tale of the dark and deceptive world of grooming and trafficking of young women - from the side of the promise of a future and the lure of a better life - like a frog place into a pot of tepid water and then boiled slowly. I'd recommend it for YAs.

I have mixed thoughts on this book. It was just an OK read, I think it was draggy in parts, and seemed to stall in the middle. The writing wasn't bad, and the premise of the book was good. It just was a little too long for me.
