I joke that I "cut my romance teeth" on the old historical romance books. I’ve written as a hobby for over 30 years. In 2014, I finally gave in to the characters in my head pleading for their story to be told. Thus, Emma's Home was created.
My first novel, Emma's Home became an Amazon Best Seller in 3 categories within the first month of publishing. Its success was followed by the rest of the Fairfield Series and then led into the Love's Series. From there I have continued with the romantic suspense Alvarez Security Series and now the Saints Protection & Investigation Series.
My books are filled with sweet romance and hot sex; mystery, suspense, real life characters and situations. My heroes are alphas, take charge men who love the strong, independent women they fall in love with.
I worked as a counselor in a high school and have been involved in education for the past 30 years. I recently retired and now can spend more time devoted to my writing.
I have been married to a wonderfully patient man for 35 years and have 2 adult, very supportive daughters.
When writing, my dog or one of my cats will usually be found in my lap!

I can’t believe how many books Maryann has in the LSI and spin off series and yet they never get old. Each book just pulls you in, each read is refreshing and different. Maryann Jordan has such a fantastic talent in keeping each additional story vibrant and addictive.
Adam and Valerie’s story is no different. It’s fresh, it’s addictive and has so much depth that the story flows from each page, wrapping around you seamlessly and pulling you into a spellbindingly breathtaking rollercoaster ride you never want to end.
Adam is a total alpha protector. He’s spent his adult life protecting those in need and serving his country, which just makes him all that much more delicious.
I love the instant attraction he feels towards Valerie. Their bond almost like a living, breathing entity. The way in which he holds his hand up when he screws up is endearing. A lot of people today divert blame or just plain ignore it, so for me, it was refreshing to see someone hold their hands up and admit their mistakes.
Valerie is a beautiful character. My heart ached for her when she’s placed in an untenable situation. And I think Maryann portrayed Valerie’s emotions at being manipulated beautifully.
I felt as though I was walking beside these characters in full technicolour magic as they worked together to evade the evil hunting them. The emotions are so vibrant and consuming.
Maryann Jordan has once again given us a beautiful and heartwarming story. An addictive rollercoaster ride full to bursting with a maelstrom of emotions that will knock you on your backside.
Can’t recommend highly enough.

Adam was amazing, as it is to be expected with Maryann‘s Lighthouse Series.
This book has so many emotions, feels and overall depth. I like the details in this story as well as the storyline. The book has lots of different details and developments and makes the reader want to finish it in one read.

The Lighthouse Keepers came through once again. Adam’s lady Valerie was smart, observant, successful and a runner! Great couple! Interesting mystery and people involved!

This is book eight in The Lighthouse Security Investigations West Coast series and it is Adam and Valerie’s story and omg it is definitely a must read. Adam used to be an army ranger but now in civilian life he works for The Lighthouse Security Investigations on the West Coast and he loves his job and the people that he worked with but Adam also loves to runs a lot to keep in shape and clear his mind which he needs as a keeper and with his new assignment coming up he needs to be on his game with no distractions so that he can do his job well. Adam’s next assignment was to accompany a university professor to a meeting in Washington DC along with his assistant Valerie but Adam was taken back when he met her but even with all her sassy and argumentative attitude he was still attracted to her but he had a job to do and nothing will distract him from keeping them both safe. Valerie liked order and everything planned so when those plans changed she felt out of sorts and snapped at Adam even though it didn’t really matter and now she realised that she was starring at him and that was definitely not a good sign because she had a job to do and couldn’t afford to get side tracked by a handsome man. Adam and Valerie realised that there attraction and chemistry was mutual and they wanted to see each other once this assignment was over but then something happened that pulled them apart but things were not what they seemed so when danger arrives for Valerie it is Adam and the keepers that came together and get her back home safely and just when there feelings for each other grows and the connection between them strong danger arrives yet again but will Adam and the keepers get there in time and eliminate the threat before it takes away the happiness and future from Adam and Valerie. I absolutely loved this book and read it in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down and my heart broke with everything that they had both gone through and the loss that they suffered but they were so perfect together and for each other and deserve a happy ending. This series just gets better and better with each book written as the story always pulls you in and keeps your attention throughout with all the action and I can’t wait to read the next book in this amazing series. Maryann Jordan is an amazing author and writer and she is one of my go to favourite authors and I always look forward to reading her books.

Adam is a captivating story from beginning to end.
Adam was assigned to a security detail for a university professor, Dr Mendez, and his assistant, Valerie Clemens, to present at a conference on how climate change and global warming affect plants and farm crops. Adam and Valerie get off to a rocky start because both of them are organized people and need to follow a set itinerary with no deviations. Neither wanted to give into changes. They were attracted to each other from the beginning but their professionalism in their duties kept them apart. As they started to get to know each other, Adam caught Valerie in a secret meeting and made assumptions that put an end to their relationship or so they thought.
Valerie gets trapped in the home of a cartel family in Colombia and Adam comes to her rescue. Their escape journey back to California is full of tense action-packed moments which don't stop even after they return home. Maryann's description of the chain of events, it's as if you are right there on the journey with them. The story has twists and surprises up to the very end.
This story takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions: funny banter, incredible dialogue, laughter, sadness, shared grief, suspense, danger, adrenaline-building action, and a sweet romance developing. You will not be disappointed!
As a side note, Dr Mendez is an absolutely delightfully adorable character.

Another Keeper off the market. Adam is yet another terrific addition to the Lighthouse and Security Investigations series. Maryann Jordan excels in giving us dynamic, interesting, intelligent and multilayered characters and the surrounds them with captivating stories with varying degress of drama, suspense, danger, intrigue and don't forget the sizzle. Adam Calvin and Valerie Clemens are definitely attracted to one another although they get off to a bit of a rocky start. He's stoic, all business, and a man of few words. Getting the job done and getting it done right is what he's all about. Valerie come from the world of academia and is the assistant to a brilliant but somwhat absent minded professor. She's passionate about her work with her mentor. They are making a difference in the world of sustainable agriculture. She's used to being in charge of their travel and itineraries. Well, she was until she met bossy Adam.
A quick security escort mission gives Adam and Valerie a glimpse into the other's lives and leaves them wanting to know more. Unfortunately, Valerie gets caught up in a dangerous situation and reaches out to Adam. He goes all in to extricate her with the help of his team. An perilous escape from deadly forces gives these two the chance to really get to know one another. Their feelings grow fast and deep. They have a mutual bond that really connects them. Loved Adam… he just may be one of my favourite keeper!
From the very start we have an understanding of who Adam and Valerie are…. Loyal, honest, hardworking and straight to the point.
They meet when WCLSI is employed as protection for a conference that Valerie and her professor are on.
They try hard to keep the relationship platonic as both. are in a professional environment but feelings are feelings and they eventually give in. Then Adam literally puts his foot in his mouth and Valerie pushes him away.
Maryann has written these characters with such maturity and even though Valerie is upset she knows deep down that Adam is a good one and reaches out.
When Valerie is placed in a compromising situation she turns to Adam and we begin a tale of adventure, drugs cartels, running for their lives and some hot romance. We learn the truth of why they chose their respective jobs and we feel even more for them.
There is angst, twists that you don’t see coming but also so much information on agriculture and manufacturing of land and harvesting that it really pulls you in… you have the ability to allow us to see your visions as we read.
Of course the other keepers show up and the feeling of belonging, pulling others in and the sense of family is strong!
Then there is Jeb and a mystery he is trying to solve is bothering him… this is going to be an intriguing story!
I also hope we see more of Timothy ????

Another excellent story from Lighthouse Security Investigation - West Coast. Former Army Ranger Adam loves working for LSI-WS and expects his latest security job protecting a university professor and his assistant. Valerie loves her job working for and with the professor, organising his life so when Adam changes her carefully laid plans it definitely rubs her the wrong way. Two people both focused on their careers, neither wanting distractions but both feeling an instant chemistry and spark of attraction that flares and grows. Just as they start to admit to to the attraction Adam’s deep core of integrity is threatened when he misconstrues Valerie’s actions. He quickly realises his mistake but Valerie is deeply hurt at his questioning of her integrity and cannot forgive him.
Each shaped by a tragic event in their past Adam and Valerie are driven by a strong moral code, their pull toward each other is stronger than the mis-step that pulled them apart but just as they are beginning again Valerie is plunged into danger on a work trip to Columbia. Can Adam and his fellow Keepers get to her in time and keep her safe?
Interesting story, action, emotion, two honest, straightforward and strong characters, I love this the LSI series (both East & West). I highly recommend you read it.

One of the last two single men in the group is Adam Calvin a former Army Ranger. His latest mission is the protection of a scientist and his assistance during their travels to DC to present in a conference.
What Adam never expected was to be instantly smitten with the assistance, Valerie Clemens. After a rough confrontation things are patched up with promises of a meeting after her commitments in Colombia.
But what happens when Valerie finds herself in danger in a foreign country?
Will Adam and the team come to the rescue?
Once again , the author delivers an engaging story with interesting characters.
Will Jeb be the next to find his HEA?
Aside from the engaging plot, the author reminds the readers that our childhood and our past experiences molds the individual we are today.

What a fabulous story. I love how I get to know Adam and Valerie. Adam is a former Ranger who has joined the WCLSI team. Valerie is an assistance to a professor who studies the effects of climate changes on crops, including crops that cartels grow. Adam is assigned to be protection for Valerie and the professor at a conference. Their initial meeting doesn't goes well as Adam changes up the logistics, which upsets Valerie a bit. But soon they find their stride, until Adam notices something strange at the conference and is upset at Valerie.
Adam learns more about what Valerie does and he reaches out to her when she and the professor are on another trip in Colombia. Will they get their HEA?
I loved how Adam grows in his character and how both of them have a death in the family connected to drugs, her father and his sister. Valerie has a very strong character, is not afraid to reach put for help and is willing to listen so others can help her out. I found it terrific that the women of WLSI are brought into the story along with their men!
This is another wonderful book in the WCLSI series and I can't wait for the next on. I highly recommend this book as well as the series!

Once again we are with the West Coast Lighthouse Security and this time we get Adam's story he has seen all of his friends start relationships and while he isn't averse to one himself he isn't sure if he wants to fall the way his friends have on missions That is take out of his hands when he meets Valerie she is an assistant to Professor Dr Mendez and they specialise on the effect of climate change on crops with a healthy slant to Colombia the professors original home and the cartels are very interested in their research. Valerie is the one who organises all of the professors tours and she is rattled when Adam changes her plans and doesn't react well at all. But there is a strong attraction between them but Adam is determined not to act on it until she is no longer a client That all goes by the wayside when he sees something that makes him think she is crooked and even though she has an explanation she no longer wants anything to do with him. When a return trip to Colombia means Valerie sees something she shouldn't putting her in danger it will take Adam and LSI West Coast to rescue her given then the future that they both want.

LSWC has sent Adam be in charge of the security for Professor Paul Mendez and his assistant, Valerie. They are traveling to Columbia where they will hold several conferences on their research on how climate change affects plants. Unbelievably, many members of the Columbian cartel also attend these conferences. They ultimately apply the professor’s theories to the illegal plants they are growing.
Adam and Valerie are immediately attracted to each other. However, since it is unprofessional, and even dangerous, for a guard to become involved with his clients, they decide not to do anything about it until they return home. However, very shortly afterwards, Adam and Valerie have a huge disagreement, sadly, the couple decide to end their soon-to-be- relationship.
Unfortunately, soon after their breakup, Valerie inadvertently overhears something that puts her life in danger. She knows that only Adam will be able to save her, so she calls him.
The rest of the story will captivate the reader with its riveting suspense and exciting action. Readers will not be able to put down this page-turner until the very end!

Adam has just been tasked to provide security for 2 people at a conference for a university professor and his academic assistant. Adam as you learned earlier was a very structured individual and this will play a part in what happens when he meets his new assignment. Dr Mendez is the professor and Valerie is his assistant. The question is why do they need security. Maryann has written a well thought out story that provides the background for this need. Valerie is used to insuring all things are planned out in advance but her first encounter with Adam leaves her wondering what is happening. Needless to say Adam and Valerie come to a relatively peaceful existence during the conference. Our story continues when Valerie and the Professor end up in Columbia and of course things do not go as expected. Adam and the keepers to the rescue. However this isn’t the end yet. Enjoy reading this one it will keep you on pins and needles till the end.

We have seen Adam throughout the other books in this series. He like is coworkers come off as a alpha male but underneath the surface he has a heart of gold. I love that this story is almost like a second chance love story. Adam and Valerie had gotten to know one another during a previous assignment but got their stories crossed. When Valerie has to travel to Columbia and things go south she knows just who to call for help. Adam takes this as his time to apologize and also to keep her safe. I love that Adam was able to say he was sorry admitting that he was wrong. Once they travel home he initially thinks that they are in the clear but he is very wrong. As in every book Maryann makes the reader feel as if she is right there in the middle of the story. The emotions of the characters come across in every story and make the read feels as if they are living it along with the story. Love that older characters are present in the story while we get to see what characters are to come.

Adam is security for a couple of academics traveling to a conference in Washington. Valerie Clemens the research assistance for Paul Mandez who studies the affects of climate on crops including crops cultivated by drug cartels, which puts them firmly in the spotlight of the cartels.
When Adam and Valerie meet they slowly begin to build a relationship but soon secrets and misunderstandings push them apart, but when Valerie is in Colombia and concerned, she reaches out to Adam and they begin to rebuild their friendship.
When things become dangerous for Valerie, when calls on Adam who, with his fellow keepers are ready and willing to step in to help.
Another steady build to a connection between are protagonists, but a with a slowly reveled crisis and a dramatic conclusion this is another exciting book.

I really enjoyed Adam and Valerie’s story. Adam is a WCLSI employee who is assigned to protect Valerie, a research assistant and Paul, a research professor as they travel to Washington DC to give a lecture. For the first time in his life Adam feels a spark, real interest in a woman. Not just for her beauty, but her intellect, feistiness amongst other things. Valerie finds Adam attractive, but did not appreciate changes he made to all the travel plans she had arranged. His quiet, commanding demeanor finally wins her over. The more time they spend together, the more they realize all they have in common.
What I enjoyed about this book is the suspense/mystery begins close to the start of the book and is woven throughout the story. Valerie is no shrinking violet, but is smart enough to know she cannot handle some things on her own. With Adam and WCLSI help she escapes from a dangerous situation, but has she?

What I enjoyed about this book is the suspense/mystery begins close to the start of the book and is woven throughout the story. Valerie is no shrinking violet, but is smart enough to know she cannot handle some things on her own. With Adam and WCLSI help she escapes from a dangerous situation, but has she?

Just finished reading the newest addition to the LSI (Lighthouse Security Investigation) West Coast series. This is Adam and Valerie’s story. Adam, an organized, mental note writing security escort meets, Valerie, super organized, note keeping academic. Adam’s job is to escort Valerie and the Professor she works with to meetings in Washington, DC. From the start, Adam turns Valerie’s world upside down by changing just about every detail she had carefully planned for their trip. Making things more interesting is the attraction they both feel towards the other. They both start to relax and give into their attraction and both feel like it’s the start of something special. Until a meeting is witnessed and conclusions are jumped to. Time softens feelings and danger throws them together again when Valerie and the Professor are in Columbia . The excitement will pull you in and build till you can’t put it down till you read the last page. Another five star read!

When Adam is tasked bodyguard duty to a professor and his assistant, Valerie, he doesn’t expect to find the woman who he can’t be without. Valerie is at first put off by Adam’s high handiness, changing planes, hotels and how serious he is about their security. It doesn’t last long as she finds him to be intriguing as well being attracted to him. She soon finds out that it is not one sided and enjoy each other’s company. A misunderstanding may end the two before they really begin, but Adam is not giving up and when Valerie needs him, he doesn’t hesitate to go to her. On the run for their lives they grow closer and when the danger subsides….will the two find a way to be together.
A great read and another keeper in this series with suspense, surprises, steam, and great characters. The story flowed beautifully and held my attention, flipping the pages to see how it all turns out.

Maryann Jordan has created another entertaining, suspenseful and adventurous novel. Adam Calvin is a quiet, smart and dedicated Keeper for Lighthouse Security and Investigations - West Coast. Valerie Clemens is a research assistant for reknown Professor Paul Mendez. When Adam is assigned as the security for the two scientists he doesn't expect much. But he is surprised by his interest in their work, and his attraction to Valerie. Things go a bit sideways due to bad assumptions and it takes awhile for Adam and Val to reconnect. In the meantime, the scientist's work takes them to dangerous locations and cartel influenced countries. Of course that is when connections to LSI can save the day. Escaping from serious danger our two heroes must get on with their lives, only to be faced with more danger. But they, and the whole team, work to save the day. And save it they do, along with their happily ever after.

Adam and Valerie are great right from the start
Adam meets Valerie when he does a security job keeping her and her boss safe while at a conference e they are speaking at. The attraction is instant for both of them bug they try to keep things professional. Then Adam screws up by assuming the worse. When she goes with her boss to Columbia, she is targeted by the drug cartel and is on the run. When Adam and out, he is on his way to her. With the help of the other Keepers, they get out of Columbia and finally get home. Who shows up to warn her that she isn't safe and needs to leave her home,and who is she not safe from? Will and and the other Keepers get to her before she is hurt?
Valerie is a very strong person who is trying to avenge her fathers murder, but in the process is being g used by the DEA. But no matter what she is faced with, she always straightens her back and does what needs to be done even I the face of danger.

Adam & Valerie
Ahhh, another mission, another Keeper finds their HEA! Love!
Adam & Valerie's quick connection is interrupted by his jumping to conclusions & acting poorly. His ordered life takes quite the turn! I was happy that he immediately apologized for his behavior, & that she did NOT immediately accept it.
Their journey back to each other was paced very well & made the forgiveness & everything that happened feel real. We get to see them communicate through texts, which helped me to not be annoyed by one of my pet peeves - when the couple doesn't have a lot of page time together for me to feel their bond growing.
I enjoyed their adventure together & was able to still feel their connection when they were geographically apart. Thumbs up! And I really LIKED both of them!

Maryann Jordan just keeps writing amazing books! We are back to the Lighthouse West Coast Series. This is about Adam. He is assigned security detail for a professor going to a conference in Washington DC. When he meets Valarie the assistant to the professor he is immediately attracted. She is interested too. They are having a great time when there is a misunderstanding. Adam keeps texting her when they are back in California but she does not respond. When she is in a dangerous situation Adam and the keepers go to the rescue. Such an interesting storyline. Maryann always comes up with interesting topics and they are always well researched. Her books are always so hard to put down. I highly recommend this book!

Adam is a stand-alone story in the series Lighthouse Security Investigations - West Coast. Each of the LSIWC Keepers has found their significant other while on a mission but Adam is sure that won’t happen to him. He likes to remain professional while on duty and keep his life orderly and organized.
That all went out the window when he was assigned security to Valerie and her boss, Paul.

Adam and Valerie meet , when he took the job to be Dr Mendez’s and Valerie’s bodyguard at The Rand Conference in Washington D.C.
They had a chemistry tan at was slow burning with a few hiccups in the relationship.
Dr Mendez and Valerie occasionally, take trips to Dr Mendez’s (:home country of Colombian). Incidents happen and Adam and his team go in to make sure Valerie and Dr Mendez are safe. If you want to know what is happening , you need to read the book.

Another FANTASTIC book by Maryann Jordan, I can't get enough of the Lighthouse Security Investigations series.
Adam and Valerie's story shows us how you should not automatically judge a book by its cover...lol. The attraction that each one felt right from the start was felt through the words written by Maryann Jordan.
As ALWAYS Maryann with her writing makes you feel like you are right there inside the story. This story has many ups and dows, many emotions, and definitely lots of twist and turns.
I can't wait to see where Maryann Jordan is going to take us in her next Lighthouse Security Investigations series.
I highly recommend this book give yourself lots of time to read it because once you pick it up you will not want to put down till it's done.

I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of Adam . I really enjoyed reading this fantastic suspense romance . Adam is one of the last guys of Lighthouse security West Coast that's still single . His new assignment is to accompany and protect Dr. Mendez and his assistant Valerie . They are attracted to each other till Adam wrongly accuses her . Valerie and Dr. Mendez next travels to Columbia and after things go horribly wrong Valerie reaches out for Adams . Adam with help from lighthouse co workers must come to Valerie's rescue or they might not get a second chance at love . I really enjoyed reading this outstanding romance . It's intriguing and suspenseful and romantic .I highly recommend taking the time to read .

Adam is one of the last of the single Keepers and is sure he'll never fall like the others have done on missions. His mantra should have been never say never. In typical Keeper fashion he falls head over heels almost the first time he meets Valerie and their first kiss seals the deal.
As always these books are an easy read, and follow a similar formula. But even though the reader knows that formula the books are still exciting and well written. Its nice to read something that you know there will be an HEA and the bad guys lose. Given there is only one single Keeper left, hopefully there will be another branch office opening soon so these stories continue.

Fantastic!!!!
I absolutely loved Adam and Valerie's story! I am such a fan of the Lighthouse series, and this was no exception! This was a little more of a slow burn, but I really enjoyed it. I always enjoy all the details in Ms Jordan's books. Whether it was details about agricultural science or about Washington DC, it kept it so interesting.
I loved their back stories which gave such insight into the characters and how it shaped them. I'm such a fan of her writing I never want the book to end. I can't out them down, and I'm always hoping through it all in my head to figure out who did what. This is a great series, and I look forward to more Lighthouse series!
