All I Want for Christmas is Head was one of those books I can't even begin to prepare you for! It had some unexpected elements that I was entirely surprised on but also some very smutty themes that I was truly hoping for!! Bravo to J.C. Bryer for always keeping me on my toes even with a smutty Christmas novella!
Michael Katz did the narration for this little gem and while there were parts that I feel like he rushed through from time to time it didn't take away from the story in anyway.
With the unexpected elements I mentioned this novella went from predictable to surprising in a matter of moments. While this won't be for everyone I think if you are like me and looking for something a little out of the normal than this would be the perfect Christmas novella to get you in the mood for St. Nick.
*ARC received from author in exchange for my honest review. *
So…. Goodreads it’s not showing the cover and I’m a little disappointed since I MADE IT! Yes friends, I draw the cover of this book. Yours truly is now a cover master 😂 (big lie since this was my one and only, but the author was so kind to give me the possibility to draw the illustration she then used as a cover)
Therefore my friends if you like a spicy smutty sweet and funny Christmas novella please go and check it out! (And look at the cover very intensely) then come back here and leave a review!
The book is now available ok KU ♥️ (soon also as audible included)
4 stars. 🎄 Whether you are Naughty or Nice everyone deserves a bit of Christmas spice! 🎄”All I Want for Christmas is Head” delivers a great amount of realistic and hot spice in 124 pages.
Spice rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ 3 jalapeños. I know those are chili peppers, but just roll with it ok.
This was my first Spicy Christmas read and bi-romance read. Let me tell you I was so happy my first read for both was All I Want for Christmas is Head by J.C. Byer. I’ll definitely be reading more from this author.
What I loved:
🌶️ 124 pages makes this a quick and fun read that is easy to pick up and hard to put down. 🌶️ A responsible & spicy representation of kink and BDSM. 🌶️ HEAVY emphasis on consent. Consent is always sexy. 🥰 🌶️ Male POV written in a way that understands the female gaze. 🌶️Font and font size changes. I’m not sure if everyone will like this, but I have really bad ADHD and bad eyes and it helped make this a super fast read by drawing my eyes to exactly what was important. 🌶️ The art on the pages was so well done and a fun surprise. I have a hard time picturing things in my head so the art was a great addition. 🌶️ All the cussing. I use cuss words as adjectives all the time.
Do not read if:
🤷🏻♀️ You do not like spice. 🤷🏻♀️ You do not like cussing. There is a lot of it. 🤷🏻♀️ You only like reading about heterosexual romance and intimacy. If that’s the case please know it is 2023, not 1923… but don’t pick up this book then. 🤷🏻♀️ You like the text in a book to be the same text and size throughout.
🎄🌶️📲”All I Want for Christmas is Head” is free today 11/12 on Amazon and it is also on KindleUnlimited. 🎄🌶️📲 Treat yourself to a book that will have you blushing 🤭
First and foremost, I am thrilled that I had the opportunity to read the ARC. Thank you so much.
This book is a nice fast-paced bisexual romance novella that I think is great to get you in the festive SPICY mood. I listened to this on audiobook (which I would not recommend because it sounded a bit wonky) while on a road trip and it made the time fly by. This book gets straight to the point and doesn't do any lingering whatsoever. There are some niche sexual activities mentioned, most of which is BDSM. With that being said, I was really invested in any of the characters, which is pretty difficult to do in such a short time frame, but it took me out of certain parts.
Overall, I would recommend to my spicy romance lovers!
This is a stream of consciousness letter to a past paramour with some Christmas cheer and a strange, albeit sexy encounter. It's lovely and unlike anything I've read before. A delightful entry into the upcoming holiday book season. 🎄
This was an interesting Christmas Smut Novella and I really liked it. In terms of smut it had all you wanted, it left me satisfied with the writing and I didn't cringe like I do with some other smut scenes in books. It's basically like meeting a stranger on Christmas and taking them all over the house in all places. No strings attached and nothing too serious.
What I liked about this Novella was the interesting writing and font changes. It made you excited to read along. Not to mention that there were pictures, I like pictures to imagine what the author has in mind with certain scenes, so that was a plus point.
𝗪𝗵𝘆 3 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘀? ⭐ I didn't get the storyline sometimes and I got confused. It was hard to understand everything perfectly and I'm not sure I got all the dynamics. The book was short and there was lots of spice so the story part itself lacked a bit. Nonetheless the writing, humor and smut I fairly enjoyed and it got me into the Christmas spirit. It was a short and quick read so I can recommend checking it out.
I read this book as an ARC, and it’s not my usual genre and I’m not one to usually read a smut book but I thought I’d give it a go.
Although the story was intriguing and well written in parts, I didn’t feel like there was enough to the story, it ended with me feeling confused, but that may just be me. I like smut, alongside a romance, so maybe that’s why, maybe it just wasn’t the book for me. I was also under the assumption that there would be more detailed smut, as it had been advertised so much as smut, but I found the smut quite basic. However, the illustrations and the font changes helped to read along. It was only short, hence it being a novella, and I was able to finish it in one day.
I would read more books by this author, but this book just wasn’t for me. If you enjoy a smut book then I’d give it a go no matter what reviews you read, you can never judge a book by its cover…although the cover for this book is brilliantly done.
This novella had a really interesting stream of consciousness/storytelling writing that hooked me from the start; it’s unlike anything else I’ve read.
“All I Want for Christmas is Head” is much deeper than the title implies - it, of course, had spice, but also had confusion and heartbreak and healing and history and sadness and understanding.
Thoughts: 🎄 I couldn’t put this book down. The storytelling really sucked me in! 🎄 The MMC had experience with Dom/sub relationships; I loved the emphasis on consent and safe sex. 🎄 I’m amazed at how full of a story we got in only 124 pages! 🎄 I loved the LGBTQIA+ representation. 🎄 It took me a minute to connect the dots at the end, but once I did… 🤯
❤️Favorite Quote❤️ “Kink is a mood… but trust is really sexy- any time.”
All I want for Christmas is Head was not what I expected. This is a quick novella, easy read, some smut, bdsm, consent and a bisexual lead. The story gave me a vibe that this was a letter/story telling to an ex. The male lead is funny and can admit how much his past is and has affected him. His random thought during his sexual encounter are pretty funny. He is all about consent and pleasuring his female partner. The Novella has a weird but cool format with its writing font and does have a few cool images woven into the book. Overall good read.
My favorite line was “Don't tell my mom I said that; I'm not sure if the blasphemy or the bisexuality would be harder on her” 😂
This sweet and smütty bisexual novella is told in second person and although we get to know other characters by name the names of our main two remain a mystery which adds to the steam of a hookup with a stranger. We are inside our MMC's head throughout as he works his way through a wallet full of comdoms with his female partner and his past feelings from his summer relationship with a man. Consent, safe words and praise kink are blended together in this quick smütty read, if you're looking for a quick smütty festive themed read this is for you
This was a beautifully formatted, stream-of-consciousness-style novella. Easy to read in an evening. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a low-angst Christmastime spicy read. The pairing is MF, with tropes of a one-night stand and afterthoughts of bi-awakenings.
Very interesting. I’m not entirely sure how I feel about it, other than I love the writing style and the main character’s voice. I read it on my kindle, and the formatting was strange in a way that waffled between “Is this really cool? Or is it distracting and taking me out of the story?” There’s art every now and then, which was definitely cool and unexpected. I did like that. And I like that the MMC is bi, and he’s bi in a way that feels very real and not fetishized.
I’m not into reading about BDSM, but this wasn’t so bad actually. It was kind of sweet and informative.
But is this erotica? Slice of life? I’m just not sure what to think of the experience. I think I really liked it?
Ok so first off this book was so weirdly formatted that it threw me for a minute. Eventually I got used to it lol but yeah this book was a mind trip to say the least.

I liked it so much! I wish I loved it but I got confuse at some points. The book was short and there was a lot of spice for my liking. I wanted to know more of their personal relationship than the spicy life of it. Loved the writing though and got me into a Christmas feel :)
This book has everything you wanted, needed and more. You are dropped right into a Christmas hallmark story but with smut, and just a bit of magic. That hot sexy man you met, yes you get him and the hot coco, but just as you have him is he really yours? This story is a nice, short, easy read from start to finish, will want you craving more from this author.
Didn't fully understand the flow of the book. There's a lot of jumping around with no inclination that you're going from present thoughts to inner dialogue dealing with demons from a past fling. The present scenes were great and very HOT, but I would have liked a little more description and more time in those moments. Maybe I was looking for more smut than emotion and loathing. And the ending is... interesting? Didn't hate it, didn't fully love it. I'll give the author another chance, in the future.
It took me a little bit to get used to the style of writing. I didn't like it at first, but I ended up enjoying the uniqueness of the style. The story itself is very sexy and I found myself turned on throughout the story. I loved how the author ended the story. Some might find it confusing, but i found it masterful.
