This is the 4th book set in Inishbeg Cove, Ireland, telling the stories of the people who live in the village.

This book is about Grace, her father Patrick, and their family home, Cavendish Hall. Grace has only just found Patrick after she moved to the Cove in the last book. They've decided to try and renovate the large house, needing to make it pay; otherwise, they will lose it. Needing a contractor, Grace finds Luke. Their aim is for the newly renovated Cavendish Hall to be opened on Midsummer's Night at a Ball, to which all are invited.

During the renovations, Grace finds a tin of letters from 1915, they look to be between someone who lived in the house and a worker on the estate. She gets caught up in their romance and leaves her determined to find out more.

I really enjoyed reading this latest instalment from Inishbeg Cove and hope there are more stories to come from there. Whilst each book centers around different people, the books follow on from each other; they are best read in order of publication to preserve continuity of the characters and wider storyline.

“Midsummer Dreams at Inishbeg Cove” is an enchanting blend of past and present, love and loss, all set against the atmospheric backdrop of rural Ireland. Izzy Bayliss captures both the ache and the wonder of human connection with grace and precision.

The dual timeline between Grace’s modern-day restoration of Cavendish Hall and Louisa’s 1915 wartime romance unfolds beautifully, each chapter revealing another layer of longing, courage, and the haunting pull of destiny. The discovery of hidden letters adds a rich, mysterious thread that ties generations together a reminder that love often outlasts the world’s greatest upheavals.

Bayliss writes with tenderness and an artist’s eye for detail every crumbling wall, every whispered secret feels tangible. It’s a story that evokes hope, heartbreak, and renewal in equal measure. Fans of Kate Morton and Lucinda Riley will find themselves utterly charmed. This book doesn’t just tell a story; it lingers like the soft echo of midsummer light over Inishbeg Cove.

The was my least favorite Inishbeg Cove book. The characters lacked depth. The plot regarding the main character and her love interest was very predictable. The part about Louisa’s letters fell flat. It’s a book that’s ok to read a few pages here and there but not super compelling.

Another great novel in the Inishbeg Cove series. Izzy Bayliss has done a wonderful job of creating a series that keeps me coming back for more.
