I appreciated receiving this Advent book as an extra included with my Christianity Today subscription.
As I flip back through my book I'll mention a just a few of the passages that touched my heart.
An Unscheduled Appointment
Simeon's devotion was rooted in the person with the plan rather than focusing solely on the plan itself.
He Is Not One to Leave Us Hurting
The Difficult Work of Embodied Faith
It's not easy to both inhabit our bodies and trust in the work of the Spirit. Illness disability, and abuse are part of our reality and urgently grip our focus. Our minds are often filled with dizzying, self-obsessed thoughts, and our woes monopolize our attention.

February 3, 2024I love advent devos! I don’t really know how to rate them, but this one was great as usual from Christianity Today, and at this point in the year, I can already tell I’m going to need it to count towards my reading goal lol.

A collection of Advent-themed devotional essays, including one by my own pastor, Monty Waldron. The essays are good, but the discussion questions were too complexly worded, particularly for a family devotional.

This was a nice advent devotional to help me set my mind on Christ this season and be in awe of His humility and graciousness.
