This is the only kata book I have the time and stamina for, but I prefer 3 of the Heian katas over all of the others: Heian Nidan, Heian yondan, and Heain Godan. These require lots of repetition to master, so I don’t have the time for the other katas. I loved those katas, but disliked Heian Shodan, and Heian Sandan. If I had the time I would practice those and bruce lee combinations. Tekki shodan looks really cool though.
but I’ll never be able to pull off fighting two people at the exact same time.

|As a fourth dan karateka I recently went through all the katas Heian and Tekki katas of Shotokan karate-do to look at the finer points. There are small differences between Nakayama sensei and Kase sensei, But overall good solid strong karate. A very good Karate book recommended for all karateka of the Shotokan style. Clear and concise with good description on critical points. Truly he was a great master.

If you are a student of shotokan karate, this is a must read. It has the complete sequences for each of the Heian and Tekki katas. I also had the corresponding videos.
