Irresponsible was one word used to describe Prince Liam. Liam preferred fun-loving. After years of pulling pranks on his fellow nobles and ruining balls, Liam’s prospects for a bride are looking dim. At his wits’ end, Liam’s father arranges a marriage between Liam and his best friend Cordelia. She is the last person in the world Liam wants to marry. When Liam confesses this to her, she transforms Liam with a curse.

Now Liam must escape her clutches while breaking her spell, but he is trapped in her castle with no way to escape. His only hope is to persuade Cordelia’s servant Gabrielle to help him. However, Gabrielle has a secret of her own, and helping Liam is something she cannot do.

Turning Curse is a cute read. Imagine this ... A Princess and the Frog theme but work in there a King who has two sons and the one that is showing potential to run the kingdom is not the oldest. Prince Liam is a goofball and his brother Prince Alan is not impressed with his lack of knowledge of the kingdom. Nonetheless, Prince Liam finds himself in a jam when a spell is put on him for insulting a princess who is in love with him. Little did he know that his best friend was a witch.

Turning Curse is a fairy tale by A.C. Harrah. This was not what I was expecting when I started reading the book; but found it delightful.
Prince Liam returns to the castle after a hunting trip to find he is late for the latest ball. He strolls into the castle and looks down into the ballroom at the beautiful dancing people and hates it. Princess Cordelia comes upon him and begins to tease him. Then she shows him a pile of small sacks filled with tree sap. They begin throwing the sacks into the dancers disrupting the ball. Of course, Liam’s father and Cordelia’s fathers are very upset and punish them by making them apologize to all of the guests one at a time. The will be punished individually as well. Cordelia is sentenced to additional etiquette lessons while Liam is to be punished by having his father find him a bride.
The next morning, Liam and Cordelia are surprised when Liam’s father announces their engagement. Liam immediately protests vehemently and a little rudely that he will not marry Cordelia. He loves her like a sister. Unfortunately, Cordelia has been entertaining some ideas of her own about marrying Liam and takes his rudeness to heart and leaves the room. He follows and they quarrel. At the end of the quarrel, Cordelia curses him and turns him into a frog. She can’t change him back because it is a curse not a spell. She puts him in a birdcage in her rooms and sets Gabrielle to watch him.
How is Liam to escape and get turned back into a man? Will his brother Alan convince their father that he is the grownup and should be given the land. What about Cordelia? Who is Gabrielle? This is a fun book to read and A.C. does a great job keeping the action going.

I sat down to read this book and figured that I'd put in an hour, 90 minutes tops, and then I'd finish up over the weekend whenever I could fit in a few minutes at a time. Instead, I just kept reading right through lunch and even missed a meeting I had scheduled.

This book... It's kind of a retelling of the Frog and the Princess, except there are two princesses and two princes...

This felt almost like a Middle Grade book with just a few minor "Young Adult" oriented scenes grafted on, and that makes me smile. It is not "The Frog and the Princess" meets "Hunger Games" or any other silliness. It is a straight forward quick and fun read -- one I wholly recommend.

The pacing worked fine and I liked the character interactions. I did have a very few minor nits: the main villain was very one-dimensional and there was a brief mention of some kind of anti-magic belief system or movement that sort of showed up for a paragraph near the end.

The author did a fine job of bringing us along as the main character developed throughout the story. The ending was satisfying too, which really adds to the enjoyment.

I don't read much in the YA genre, but this was a real treat.

I would like to express my gratitude towards the group David Estes Fans and YA Books Lovers and the author A. C. Harrah for giving me the honor to read this book for an honest review!

Ok, let's start with the confession that when I started this book I was like great another male point of view, why do I keep doing stuff like this, I would slap myself but I am so vain that I do not feel like hurting my skin and less my gorgeous face, what if I meet my frog prince, I mean my own prince Liam….

Ok, it feels so good to let that out of my chest!!!

And I can openly said that I am so fortunate to read this, because it was just perfect, not Disney fairytale perfect, but this story was executed better than I originally thought, it had everything on it, romance, friendship, vengeance, violence, seduction, caring, cruelty, it was full of great twists and incredible narrative, I did not only got one centered perspective but many sides of the story, for a moment I felt like I was watching my favorite novela (Note: I am Hispanic and I am still into Novelas, you should look at my face when I am watching Univision, you'll get a good laugh out of my facial expressions), I couldn't just finish a chapter without wanting to read the next and the next, I barely got any sleep, not that I am complaining, no way, it was a challenge, I needed, craved and desired to read more about Liam and mostly because I wanted to see if he got what he surely was lacking off and oh my dear rana and castles and ponds and rings and horses and brothers and balls and jeez…… I couldn't get enough, I need rehab, a vacation, better a boat ride…. Or a trip or a well.

Liam was just the jerk guy you meet at the bar, who does not give a …. You know what…. About what others think or expect of him, his honesty and bluntness got him into the slimy situation he put himself to, but I should said that it was not fair but I am glad it happened.

Cordelia was, oh baby Jesus, an spoiled brat, who was very upset after rejection, but I admired her strength and very feminist side of her, I should applaud to her when she stood for herself against her parents, wow! And it takes guts to admit that you f-up…. And there is no way to fix it!

Gabrielle, oh that poor child, I was so moved towards her and how the author introduced her to us, she became like a friend to me, and then I just loved her, I could have imagined her with Liam but then again Cordelia's feelings toward Liam gotten in the way….

Alan, awe, the misfit brother, the baby brother, who gets no kingdom, well I can relate to him a little bit, and I tried to sympathize with him but I thought of him more of a very jealous, invidious, and even ambitious pal than a compassionate one, well he kind of redeems himself and then I warmed towards him a tiny bit…..

Riona, oh this girl seriously needed a good security guards a 24/7, for a moment I thought I was watching Jerry Springer….. I wanted to cut someone's testicles, for god sake's what a disturbed mind. Poor Riona!

Anyways, the frog turns into hero, the witch finds redemption, the second son still has not what his heart desires, the king got his son back but there were a lot of untold, so now I get to speculate what is going to happen next….

Thank you for the read!!!

TURNING CURSE was a great read. It was a mixture of two fairy tales that I could tell: The Frog Prince & Cat-Skin (is it Bearskin other places?). I don't think these have been retold much, so it was quite refreshing not to read a Cinderella or Beauty & The Beast story.

The characters were great. Up until recently, I became (or, most likely started to realize) one of those people who can't enjoy a book if I don't like the characters. Doesn't have to be the main character whose POV the story is in, but at least someone. I like all of the main characters in TURNING CURSE. However, there were times when they seemed to change a little too much.

I like how Cordelia was not a girly girl who wanted to be princess and get married -though she did want to marry her BFF, Prince Liam. I could picture her clearly in my head. I also loved Prince Liam as a frog, though thought him a bit too childish as a person and I couldn't understand why he was blaming random ppl for what happened to him at the hands of one person. As a frog, I thought he was so cute and funny; he made me want a talking pet frog. Gabriella was great, too. She was sort of off, which made her scenes with Frog Liam funny.

I do believe that Alan and Liam seemed to be the same person, and had it not been for the names, I wouldn't have been able to tell them apart. They're both a bit stiff and dislike one another so much -nothing really separates them except Liam's childishness and Alan's need to impress his father to show he should be King.

The development of the storylines were good -everyone had their own arc which added to the overall story. The only thing I had an issue with in this category was that it started to drag after

Also, I found the writing stilted (is that the word?) , with simple and short sentences that were a little annoying to read.

There were also many missing words (the, and, me, to, too, like, that... small words) that didn't make it difficult to understand what you'd just read b/c you knew what word was missing, but it does get you caught up.

The story is also written from several POVs in each chapter. I know some ppl don't like that, but I didn't mind it as it wasn't distracting and it helped to know what everyone was doing, thinking, etc. Especially b/c you do care about the characters.

If you enjoy fairytale retellings/inspired stories, then you can't go wrong with this one. A light read that's simple and to the point, but enjoyable on the way to the end. I would advise you to get both this book and book 2, as I don't think this one ends in a satisfactory way that makes sense of the premise for book two.

Big thanks to the author, A C Harrah, for providing me an e-copy of her debut novel for review.

Turning Curse is a tale of magic and royalty; of friendships and betrayals; of love found in the most unexpected of circumstances. Liam, an extremely notorious prince lived in his own world of child’s play and wouldn’t heed to his father’s wishes. His days of pranking never ceased to shock and disgust the royals while delighting his good friend Cordelia. She is the only one who understood his aversion to all things planned by his father – from his being the next King to getting married to some high and mighty royal’s daughter.

But when King Gerard suggests that Cordelia and Liam wed, his instantaneous refusal doesn’t sit well with her, who in the heat of the moment curses Liam to take another form for having neglected her to such an extent as to not ponder over the possibility of a relationship. This is a fascinating retelling of the Princess and the Frog with a twist. Liam, helpless as he is, looks to Cordelia’s servant Gabrielle to find a way out of the mess. But what he must accept is that along with Gabrielle, many others around him, have dire secrets to hide which take priority over Liam’s plight. Who will be his saviour or will he forever be confined to the body of a frog?

I really adore fairy tale retellings and so I jumped at the opportunity to review this. But somewhere after the first few chapters, it became an effort to carry on reading. And believe me, I tried to find something that I liked. Liam is so immature and childish, it began to leave a rash on my mind to the point that I liked scenes without him. Which is a sad thing to think of the protagonist of the novel. There isn’t much I can say without making it a spoiler so this going to be vague but the novel had one of those “instant love” aspects going on which I found very difficult to absorb. Cordelia’s character is one of the things that I enjoyed. She is very feisty and courageous. But unlike Liam, who gets around to adjusting into the royal life, she takes a stand and outrightly refuses. It is Cordelia who plays an integral role in putting together all the pieces of puzzle towards the end. The author’s writing style was also something I liked, as she pays sufficient attention to detail. Using the right amount of imageries to let us picture the sights. The story wasn’t as predictable as you’d think, but I wish it had been more gripping. Some of the dialogues I found lacked conviction and made the entire scenario lose its focus. Cordelia’s parents, Evelyn and Cornelius were underplayed and could have contributed much more to the story. I wanted to like it more but that only happened in little bits of the novel. It wasn't bad but just not what I expected.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a mashup retelling of All Kinds of Fur, a super obscure fairytale(Don't look up the story if you don't want to know too much about the plot in this book!), and The Frog Prince, which everyone knows about. If you have any doubts whether the author could pull off retelling both of these stories in the same novel, don't. Turning Curse did well combining elements from both of the fairytales into a really great book.

The characters are pretty complex in this story. Liam, the main character, is a bit of a jerk. He's inconsiderate, and hasn't really grown up yet. Quite honestly, I didn't have a lot of pity for him at the beginning of the book. However, he grows a lot during the progression of the book. He was quite the three dimensional character.

Gabrielle was a pretty good love interest, but I didn't think that the romance storyline was what made me like her. I wanted to know exactly what was going on with her! Some of the stuff I will admit I was able to guess at. But other things were big reveals for me.

I felt bad for Liam's brother Alan, because he really did not get a happy ending at all in this book. Not even close to one. Thankfully, he is getting a sequel, because I felt that in order to make sure Liam ended up happy, Alan's heart repeatedly kept getting shattered.

The one character I hated was Cordelia. I thought that she was rash and she would continually get on my nerves. Even when the book tried to make me feel sorry for her I couldn't. The hate was too strong.

Considering I had forgotten most of the storyline for All Kinds of Fur, I was always very eager to see where the plot would go next. It was pretty twisty, so I never got bored.

Besides abhorring Cordelia, the one thing that got on my nerves during the course of this story was Liam's tendency to sound too modern. Everyone sounded regal and royal in this book...except Liam. It might have been intentional, but I still didn't like it because it didn't fit in with how everyone else talked.

Turning Curse isn't afraid to break out from retelling 'traditional' fairytales like Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty, and it has quite likeable characters. Despite a few blunders to take away from what have been a four star rating from me, I enjoyed reading it.

Actual rating would probably be 3.5 stars

I received a free copy for exchange of an honest review!

So let me be honest.
I was so excited to read a special retell of another Disney story (since Cruel Beauty was a total success), especially Princess and the Frog because it has so many possibilities.
I thought I'll give this a five-star rating with flying colors, but I almost gave up at the middle. The characters were starting to annoy me (especially Liam), things were going nowhere and I got bored.
But then:

Alan happened.

He is probably the only character that has some actual brain material inside his head. He works, he thinks, he acts like a proper prince and doesn't bitch about being able to choose himself a bride when most don't get that chance. His retorts are amazing and though I am kind of throwing a little bit of hate on the book, I have to admit the arguing between the royal brothers was hilarious and well-written.

“It’s okay. I think it’s cute.”
Alan’s anger melted. He sheepishly rubbed the back of his head. He grinned. “Thank you, Riona.”
Liam snorted; watching strangers flirt with each other bored him, and made him want to hurl—too much cute. Watching Alan and Riona flirt was that, and it made his teeth rot. “Cute won’t get you anywhere on your wedding night.”
“And neither will being a frog,” Alan snapped.

And well, since Liam-the jealous frog is the main character, I'll have to say something about him too.
-I don't like him.
But I do respect his fighting for Riona/Gabrielle against that God awful King Arnold. That man is just... ugh.

Overall, this was not a bad book. Actually, it was fun and easy to read, much unlike what I'm used to. So, if you like retells of stories, funny characters and pretty much predictable endings that (for me) don't make much sense, then this is the book for you.

**I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review**

A great adaptation of a traditional story with a twist. I love these types of books that take a story we think we know inside out and flip it on its head making us completely question what we knew before. This book does exactly that and it does not disappoint.

The main character is Liam, he is a Prince who needs to marry before he can become king. Until his parents suggest he marries his best friend then he rejects her in horrendous style. The best friend reacts in the only way she feels fits how badly Liam hurt her and curses him turning him into a frog which he can't change out of until he feels her pain. Liam is a character who has to go through a lot of development before he can become the man he is at the end of the book and this is something that is only made possible through the girl he grows to love, Gabrielle. I did like Liam as a character and enjoyed reading about his personal growth but I also felt that there was a lot about his character that was left unexplored- I would have liked to learn more about where his inability to love started from etc.

The secondary characters were Liam's brother Alan who took his place rather too easily I felt once Liam went missing, Liam's best friend Cordelia who cursed him then ran away from all her responsibilities and Gabrielle/ Riona who Liam fell in love with. Each of these characters added to the story in a unique way and allowed us to get a more thorough view of Liam's life.

The pacing was great leaving us guessing up until the very last minute about the fate of our main character. Also I liked how there were little snippets from other characters lives and how they were doing etc.

The storyline was an original take on a traditional story that added a completely different look into the lives of the characters and the reasons behind the curse.

***(I Received the eBook free as a review copy from the author in exchange for an honest review)***

The cover for this book looks incredibly eerie and the synopsis only adds to it, so naturally I was expecting a really dark and mysterious story. I couldn’t have been more wrong…

Turning Curse was a light (well I say light but filled with dark magic it’s not going to be all rainbows and unicorns) and fun read (again; dark magic, secrets). It kind of reminded me of the princess and the frog but with more princes and princesses. I know that probably makes no sense if you haven’t read the book already, so a quick summary: Liam gets turned into a frog.

You can’t exactly go from that into a dark tale of magic and loss, but in the end I liked how it was a very quick read with nothing too serious or thought provoking. It was straight forward entertainment as you watched Liam, the playful but arrogant Prince try to cope with not only being a frog (and having to eat flies, eurgh) but try to determine himself.

For all the characters it ended up very much being a journey of self-discovery and their developments are clear in their own little sub-plots. This is a feat in itself because to develop a character so dramatically, never mind several; in just one book without it sounding rushed and forced is something even the best authors can fall back on. The fact that A. C. Harrah did it effortlessly is evidence of her writing capability.

I also loved the way she ended it because while it was very open; I believe there is a sequel which I’ll likely read even though I’m satisfied with the end. It wasn’t concluded with the Disney fairy-tale happily-ever-after we all know, nor a load of death and gloom like the Grimm’s tales. So in a way it was far more realistic.

**I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.**

This was such an outstanding YA Fantasy Romance for me. I loved the different aspects of family drama, incest, friendship, love, betrayal and so much more. A. C. Harrah has created a novel that follows seamlessly. My only compliant was that the world building was not there. I felt like there could have been more to learn about the kingdoms and people in it. However, despite the lack of world building I was still pulled in at every turning page.

The basics: Liam is a young prince that loves to play games, do pranks and avoid his duty as future king. He even refuses to find a bride. The night of yet another ball for him to find a bride, he and his friend Cordelia prank the guests. In the end, his father punishes him by agreeing to marry him off to Cordelia. He says no because he sees her as a sister which causes Cordelia to become angry and curse Liam. He is cursed and transformed into an animal. The only way to break the curse is to feel the pain Cordelia felt.

From the start I enjoyed this book. Learning about Liam and how immature he was kept me hooked. Cordelia was an interesting character for me. I liked her, then hated her and then loved her at the end. She was a major b*tch in how she treated Liam and how she abandoned Gabrielle.

Gabrielle was an awesome character, but to find out who she really was add another plot twist to the story. Riona was such a sweet character. I totally loved her and to find out why she ran away from home killed me. I had to cry for her.

I couldn't stand Alan. I tried to but he was just the jealous younger brother that didn't care for his older brother. It disgusted me how he acted at the end of the story.

The ending was perfect! Liam matured, found love and it was just the perfect happily ever after.

Totally enjoyed reading this book.

Turning Curse follows Prince Liam, who is one day cursed to be a frog by his once-friend, Princess Cordelia, after he spurns an offer to marry her. He is then trapped in her castle and must find a way to escape from Cordelia’s clutches and break the curse. His only ally is Cordelia’s maiden Gabrielle, who is reluctant to betray Cordelia and holds a secret of her own.

The book is without a doubt very good. It starts off with a Disney feel to it, going over a classic prince-turned-into-a-frog kind of story done well. However, without wishing to spoil anything, the story does take a few twists and turns, and throws in a couple of surprises that quickly turn dark. Suffice to say, parts of this story regress to more of a Grimm fairy tale and there are a couple of adult themes in here that will be unsuitable for smaller children.

That said, the characters are all very sympathetic, including the villains and their misfortune of living with magic powers. Again, seeing as this is more of a fairy tale, you can probably guess what will happen from point to point, but it’s well done, as are the characterizations and growth of Liam and others. There were maybe a few instances where I would’ve preferred some more development for plot points, but it doesn’t detract from the story and is more of a personal preference.

Honestly, the only criticism I can really level at the story is some punctuation issues. However, those are minor. In all, it was a fun story to read, with the right doses of romance, adventure, and thrills that make up a good fairy tale story. So if you’re in the mood for a story like that, it’s worth downloading a copy.

This was a new concept for me, a princess and the frog retelling with a twist, and it was a very quick read and overall pretty enjoyable.
Although Liam grew over the course of the story I could not get over what a spoiled brat he acted like so much of the time, even as a frog he was selfish and I never really connected with him or his struggle, to be honest I kinda thought he deserved the curse and maybe it was for the best cause I think he learned a lot of very valuable life lessons. I think Riona and Liam's father were the only two people I liked, they both tried so hard and tried to find the good in everyone, I was glad they were around. I felt like there were a few things that happened after the news of Liam's condition was public that I thought were a little unnecessary and dragged the book on a little long and I think that was due in large part to the fact that it was a little predictable at the end. I hope it does not look like I am bashing this book cause that was not my intention I liked the book as a whole and I think it is for a specific group of people to love and I jusr might not be it,
I would like to read the next book because it is based more on Liam's brother Alan and I think it would be fun to be back in this world but to get a different view on it and a whole new adventure.

Not the typical cursed frog prince story, but I kept waiting for things to happen and to understand. A little slow for me, but I liked Riona.

Likes:
* Gabrielle's kindness to Liam
* Funny, snarky dialogue

Dislikes:
* Prince Liam's self-centeredness and irresponsibility
* Cordelia being a witch and no one knowing

With-reservations:
a little language, bitterness, incest, marriage without love

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. In no way does this affect either my rating or my review.

When I first read the synopsis for this book, one of the first things that popped into my head was that it reminded me a little of Beauty and the Beast. The main character, Liam, is trapped in a castle by his best friend, Cordelia, who has cast a spell on him. The only difference, it seemed, was the person who was trapped was the one who was cursed instead of the one doing the trapping. But, as you start reading, you realize that, while the synopsis for this book may sound like a distant cousin copy of Beauty and the Beast, it very much is not Beauty and the Beast. The characters were original, the plot was unique and the magical kingdom setting is imaginative. (Magical kingdom setting is the best that I could come up with, at the moment.) Putting Beauty and the Beast aside, how're, I really did enjoy this book. I'm a sucker for fairy tales and fairy tale retellings. This book had all the makings of a fairy tale. It had the action, the danger and the romance that every good fairytale needs, as well as the cursed prince, the magic spell and the wicked witch. I would definitely reccommend this book to anyone who loves the fairy tale genre and is looking for something fresh and new.

This was an easy to read book with a predictable story, which is why the 4 stars not 5. The book is well written and does not have any violence, sex, or tensions of the day in it. It is a young person's love story with a happy, but realistic ending. There is pain and uncertainty at the end, not the fairy tale finish in only one dimension with Disney animation.

This book would be a good book for young readers of middle school age. It has that bit of adventure in it, along with characters that young people can easily relate to. The language is accessible and there is a moral to it about saying what you know is right when you need to say it. It is cautionary about silence and not telling others what you know yourself is true when it is the right time to speak. There is a lesson in growing up and understanding things about personal responsibility and compassion that must come with a new understanding of yourself.

The adults in the book are not simplistic and suffer from life and failure in a way that young readers can understand as they begin to develop their own understanding of people beyond themselves.

I would not hesitate to give this book to pre-teens or young teenaged children at all. Young adults who like easy reading love stories would also enjoy it.

I really liked the book, because it caught my attention form the first page. I liked how it took a fairy tale that I loved as a little girl, and told me how it all began, adding love, deceit, and curses. The third point of view really helped understand the motives of all the characters, and the reasons they did what they did.
This book I would recommend to those in middle school since there are no scenes that I would consider as bad, and I really enjoyed the book.
The pacing was fine but there was a small problem that I had. In the book it mentions how some are against magic, yet it doesn't come as a big part of the book. I thought that when Liam's father found
out there would be a form of dispute because of the magic, but there wasn't, so I was kind of upset, but it didn't affect how much I liked the book.
The author did a fine job of bringing us along as the main character developed throughout the story. The ending was satisfying too, which really adds to the enjoyment. Is there a second book? I want to find out what happens to Alan and Cordelia because there was a story developing with each character that I wanted to learn more of. This overall was a good book.
** I was given this book by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank You :)

This is a cute, easy to read re-telling of a couple of fairy tales: the Princess and the Frog and Allerleirauh (Tale no. 65, or various other names; generally not as well known). The ending was a bit more..open ended than I would have preferred, but I think it was realistic: not all doom and gloom and death everywhere like many of the Grimm tales but not so happy-go-lucky like the Disney version. Plus it looks like this will be the beginning of a series, so I can understand not tying everything up in a neat bundle.

Anyhow, I was a bit concerned with Liam because I didn't want to hate him. Luckily the plot starts fairly quickly and the tone is set by how the other characters act/react to Liam. I really liked the Liam grew as a character and came to some tough realizations about himself. In fact, he wasn't the only one to do this - Cordelia did some soul searching too. Thankfully, the author makes it appear as though they still have growing to do.

Still, a sweet story with some funny moments. Good for YA audiences.

I was very excited to read this book and I guess, along the line, I started having high expectations because I found myself disappointed. I just didn't like Liam and maybe that's why I was disappointed. Liam just seemed so self-centered and by the end, I still wasn't satisfied. Riona took everything so lightly and came to her senses way too late. Can't help agreeing with Alan... She did act like an idiot. And, the part that's most troublesome to me is Liam's falling in love. One moment he is just having fun and the next, he realizes he loves her. How??? I just thought that part was hastily written. But, it wasn't all bad. There were some interesting twists, and although it was predictable, it wasn't a bad book. Some parts were actually very good and the starting was hilarious. It was nice, but I think I didn't like it because it just didn't turn out to be my type. Although, I'm sure a lot of people will like it.

I will start with the dislikes which is a shorter list than what I liked about this book:

-In the beginning, I didn't think it transitioned well into the new characters.

- Also, some parts were boring. You know the parts where you kind of zone out and you have to re-read it again to understand what happened? But I have to say, most books are like that so it's not too bad.

Now for the likes:

- I like that this book was more than one emotion; it was sad, funny, love-filled, and sometimes, the tone had an upset feeling.

-A.C. Harrah's use of diction throughout the book was great and made up for the lack of transitioning.

- I like that nothing was revealed too quick and left you guessing ( but I won't spoil it for anyone.) It was suspenseful. I didn't want to stop reading because I wanted to find out what happened.

-I adored the ending and I think everyone should read this.

This book was such a nice adaptation to the original fairy tale. Well it was a little more of a change but anyway it was great.
I loved all the characters and the banter between them. I liked Liam so much and even Cordelia.
I also thought poor Alan was such a victim, although he tried his best he was still second and Riona was a very good character as well.
The story had many subplots that could have been fewer because they didn't have time to develop fully but it wasn't something that deterred from the focal point of the book.
I loved the transformation of Liam, and no I don't mean the literal thing, but his personal transition from an immature prankster to a well centered young man. I really believe that was the point of the whole intrigue.
All in all this was a nice, easy and fun read so thank you.

This is a fairy tale story for young adults. Liam is a prank playing prince, whose only purpose is to have fun with his best friend Cordelia. and not take anything serious. His father is trying to make him marry and give him the throne but Liam is not interested. His father decides that time for play is over and annonces that he will marry Cordelia.

Liam is adamant that he will not marry especially Cordelia. Hurt and humilated, she curses him and the only way he can undo the curse is to feel the same way she did when he crushed her heart. He holds him captive in her room and her servant Gabrielle is to guard him so he cannot escape.

This is a very good story, well written. All the basics of a fairytale are present, princes, princesses, castle. The characters and the story are predictable, by midway, you basically know the ending but very entertaining.

I've never read a detailed version of princess and the frog before but I'm glad this was my first:) this book is fantastic and read it in a day.
The characters had their own unique personalities and my favorite would have to be Cordelia. Even though she was in the wrong she tried to make amends and stands up for herself and pursuits her happiness. The story had a splash of action and romance and felt very natural that I was really involved in the story. I love love Riona and Liam's relationship because they started as friends and gradually fell in love one another rather. I recommend this book for anyone who wants a relaxing and heartwarming read:) I look forward to more books from A.C Harrah.

I received this book for free in return for a review:)

This book was an interesting, fun book that kept me entertained. I thought this book was well written and it kept me reading to find out what would happen. I liked the characters and the plot was interesting. Liam was an interesting character to read about and I found him to be a great character that developed a lot since the beginning of the novel.
What I didn't like about this book was that at times it was predictable. I thought the characters were great but I wasn't invested in them. I also wasn't too invested in the story as well.
All in all, I would recommend this book to anyone that is looking for a book that will keep them interested throughout the whole book.

This was a pleasant read—a sort of Frog Prince tale.

Bits of the writing felt forced. The modern language here and there jarred me, as did the point of view shifts. There were also more typos and errors than I like to see.

Still, it was a fun story. I did care about the characters and wanted to see them happy. I’m also curious to see what happens with the brother in the sequel. Don’t worry, though: Turning Curse stands alone, which I think is cool in a world of cliff-hanger trilogies.

I am so happy that I had the chance to review the book Turning Curse By A.C. Hannah. I loved most the magical aspect, and also that the book was so well written, that the story flowed, and it was so easy to read. Not only was the focus on magic, but the book also encompassed love, adventure, deceit, friendship, royalty, families and a fantastic twist of events at the end of the book. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and recommend anyone looking for a little magic and a fun book to read, then give this book a shot. Thank you for the opportunity to read this book.

I won this in a FirstReads giveaway, thank you!! I apologize for my tardiness in posting a review. This book was a great follow up to book 1. Written with just as much detail as the first. My 14 year old agrees that this book was wonderfully written. We would argue over who got to read first.

A wonderful blend of fantasy and fairytale. The author is meticulous in her writing. Very enjoyable, we look forward to reading more by this author.
