Inflicting Mayhem: Dakota Destruction Book 3 is the highly anticipated spinoff to the bestselling Havoc in Wyoming and Montana Mayhem Christian Futuristic series, which follows societal collapse from a small-town perspective. Featuring engaging scenarios, riveting action, and flawed yet strong and complex characters, the Dakota Destruction series is perfect for fans of Mark Goodwin, Jamie Lee Grey, and Kyla Stone.

The Dakota Destruction series can be described as “Cozy” Apocalypse and contains no profanity, gratuitous sex scenes, or overly detailed gruesome death scenes. However, it does contain conservative family values and references to God, prayer, scripture, and Christianity.

Millie Copper, writer of Cozy Apocalyptic Fiction and preparedness mentor, was born in Nebraska but never lived there. Her parents fully embraced wanderlust and moved regularly, giving her an advantage of being from nowhere and everywhere.

Millie Copper lives in the wilds of Wyoming with her husband and young son, tending chickens and attempting a food forest on their small homestead. After living off the grid for several years, they've recently gone back on the grid. Four adult daughters, three sons-in-law, and five grandchildren round out the family.

Since 2009, Millie has authored articles on traditional foods, alternative health, homesteading, and preparedness-many times all within the same piece. Millie has penned seven nonfiction, traditional food focused books, sharing how, with a little creativity, anyone can transition to a real foods diet without overwhelming their food budget.

The twelve-installment Havoc in Wyoming and six-installment Montana Mayhem Christian Post-Apocalyptic fiction series use her homesteading, off-the-grid, and preparedness lifestyle as a guide. The adventures continue with the upcoming Dakota Destruction series.

Inflicting Mayhem is book 3 in the series America’s New Apocalypse. I love the two main characters, Katie and Leo who are flawed but striving to improve their lives together and separately. They are leaning on God more and that’s always a great solution to dealing with difficult situations. There is plenty of action included as you would expect living in a dystopian world. I highly recommend the entire series and it will be much more enjoyable if read in the order written.

Disclaimer: I received this ARC from the author and this is my honest and freely given opinion.

Great story.

I enjoyed Inflicting Mayhem. It was great to “catch up” with Leo and Katie and the other characters in this series. These characters seem very real and the plot is easy to get wrapped up in. There is suspense and action as the author gives hints as to who may have started the attacks on the country. There are still lots of unanswered questions. I look forward to the next book. I suggest the reader starts with The Havoc in Wyoming series.

I have loved these books since starting with Jake and Mollie. This set is just as wonderful and an excellent continuation of characters development and growth. I adore Leo and Katie. I am loving getting to know Marissa as well. An excellent book and series for anyone looking for a post Emp story that leans into the religious. A definite recommend!

My Musings

Very good but not great. Still love the characters but the story didn't zing as the second one did. Hopefully the last book in this series will close out with a bang. A mostly happy reader!

Just when I think the roller coaster ride is over, Millie Copper throws her characters on their next wild ride. Sometimes, though, they deserve it - and the "bad guys" in this series definitely fall into that category. Copper has a way with really getting me to dislike certain characters!

Interestingly, while Katie and Leo are technically the "main mains", Merissa has really come to the forefront and is my favorite in this series. I've really gotten pulled into this series and the community events, but Merissa is the one I wonder and worry about the most. Katie tends to frustrate me - which is a good sign a writer knows how to really suck you in with their character development.

The day-to-day life scenes give the reader a chance to catch their breath, which is a VERY good thing with some of the revelations in this installment to the Dakota Destruction series. Brace yourself - this one's a doozy!

I received an advance review copy of this book, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
