Join Sarah Beeny on her journey to live more simply and find her forever home...
Throughout her life, Sarah Beeny has been obsessed with the idea of home. From her childhood growing up in a countryside cottage to renovating her very first flat in London to restoring a stately home in Yorkshire, she has never been afraid of the hard work needed to turn a house into a home. Now, in her most recent adventure, Sarah and her family have moved to a former dairy farm in Somerset to build the home of their dreams.
In The Simple Life, Sarah tells the story of her life, sharing tales and experiences in everything including parenting, property, friendships, nature and the environment, all the way through to her recent cancer diagnosis and treatment. Through it all, Sarah tackles challenges and troubles with signature wit and wisdom, discovering life is never as 'simple' as you'd like it to be.
I simply loved the book from page 1. I can hear Sarah Beenys voice as she’s writing it, the humour, the love, emotion and at times the sadness. She has worked really hard to achieve her lovely life alongside her gorgeous husband and lovely talented funny boys. She’s struggled with financial problems and the stress of the cancer and nothing stops her. I wish her a great future full of health and success. I look forward to her next chapter and her next to adventure
A beautiful read.....from the first page to the last
I've always enjoyed Sarah Beeny on her tv programs but now I LOVE her!!! A charming insight to her varied and very interesting life with out being pretentiousness but incredibly honest. The love within this family is so beautiful and inspiring. I could easily recommend The Simple Life and indeed I think I will read it again Utterly charming
I lived the background story of life before fame (as it were) the highs and lows of life with family and moving around to accommodate needs ,also the renovation of homes and the big new house which I also watched in tv in the episodes aired and totally loved !! An absolute fab read I wish it hadn’t ended !
This is a great memoir, told in Sarah Beeny’s familiar direct, no nonsense, up for any challenge style. Full of stories and deep love for family and adventures. Super easy, entertaining reading. Thoroughly recommended.
I loved the openess and honesty in her book. An insight into her family and general life showed who she is and all the ups and downs like any other family. A very enjoyable interesting read.
I enjoyed reading this. We’ve watched all of Sarah’s tv shows over the years and she comes across as a really genuine person. After watching them build their home in Somerset, which we thoroughly enjoyed, I couldn’t wait to read this book. I liked the writing style and found the book an easy read. I would definitely recommend reading it.
