Misadventures and Mistletoe #2

From Snowball Fights to Hot Summer Nights

Rate this book
The Delivery Team at Santa Enterprises brings cheer during the holidays, but Dancer is putting a little Christmas in July with a hot summer romance.

When a friend gets injured right before a performance for charity Dancer offers to take his place. Unexpectedly among all the sequins and spotlights, he finds not one chance at love, but two.

He never thought Trevor, the sweet but quiet bouncer, was interested…but the way he watches Dancer from the audience says otherwise.

Candace Cane, another performer, is as sweet and refreshing as her name. When she urges Trevor and Dancer to act on their feelings, they both realize they’re interested in her as well—but a relationship is the last thing on Candy’s mind.

Will these three find love with a little Christmas magic, or will fate pass them by?

From Snowball Fights to Hot Summer Nights is book two in the Misadventures and Mistletoe series. Each book will focus on a new romance for one (or more) of the Santa Enterprises team. This is a complete MMF romance and ends in a HEA.

Sooooooo sugar sweet and hit the spot. Trevor was my fave boi because I NEVER see enough plus size guys in romance and I need more teddy bears. Candy was over the top enthusiastic and Dancer was her match in that. They desperately needed Trevor to ground them a bit. I loved the Trevor worked through some of his body image issues.

Spice: 4/5

Triggers: poor body image/internalized fat phobia, brief description of shoulder dislocation, mention of absent parent, mentions of side character’s pregnancy

SUPER cute. Funny (but funny when the gang is together or texting- not the relationship)
There was A LOT of talking in this one and more short spicy scenes. It felt a little like this author wasn’t sure how to romance with three people.
So it was fine but not nearly as good as the first book and the best parts were the friendship parts and open communication.
Will 100% read more from this world.

Scandalous! Clutching my pearls!

I'll admit, maybe this one just wasn't for me and that's fine, I still really enjoyed the writing!

World building is great and the scenes are, in fact, very steamy.

In saying that, Trev came off a bit pick me at times. Trust and believe I get having insecurities dating as a larger person, but these absolute stunners CLEARLY have a thing for you. The way you would never hear the end of my ego is insane, actually. Perhaps that is just me.

I did think Dancer was a sweetheart, if not a bit shallow.

I loved Candy, no notes. I did think maybe her mother might’ve been overbearing at first but the way she didn't hesitate to get rid of those men when she thought they did something to Candy? Also reassuring her after Candy expressed her worry about something she had said a long time ago? Stunning. No notes. Get that woman a Grammy for parenting.

All in all, still fun. I think it's still a sin to make their cum magic flavoured.

#MMF

Another delightful entry in this series. This one is a bit different in tone than the first—not as cheeky book 1—but still very cute. It’s MMF with pining, immaculate consent, and lovely direct communication. I loved that one of the guys is a little in the pillowy side (yay body representation!) and struggles with how he is often perceived by others. I have quickly become a fan of this author and I can’t wait to read more. I’m hoping the next book features Vixen!

“Nervous?” I stroke my fingers over her arm reassuringly.
“A little.” Her nose wrinkles with the admission.
“I’ve… never tried this before.”
“A sleepover?” I tease.
“A threesome.”
I gasp in feigned shock. “I thought we were here for a very chaste book club meeting!”

From Snowball Fights to Hot Summer Nights is a fun and spicy addition to the Christmas lore built up in the Misadventures and Mistletoe series. In this book, we follow one of Santa’s helpers, Dancer, in his journey to find love! This gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me!

I adored Dancer, Trevor, and Candy! They were so cute together! I love how the throuple didn’t originally plan to be a thing, but came into their relationship slowly. I also liked the open communication between them all and the acceptance of knowing they all wanted to be together. The texting between them is hilarious! This book gives off a romcom vibe and I loved it! I hope we get to see more of Kris’s crew and their quests to find love! ❤️

Last year, I picked up a cozy lil Xmas novella that wound up unexpectedly becoming a fave read over the holiday season. I rarely buy physical books, due to limited space and tiny humans who get into everything. But I bought this book because it made me laugh so much and was just the perfect, quick, cozy read and I could see myself picking it back up over and over as a comfort read. Thus, when @wrenkmorris announced another book in this series, I knew I would be picking it up ASAP! And "From Snowball Fights to Hot Summer Nights" did not disappoint.

This MMF novella took me back to all the coziness and laughter of the first book, and then took it up a notch. I especially loved Dancer's character. My ADHD, hyperfocusing, overthinking self related so much to him and his mental tangents and impulsivity. Candy was truly a ray of sunshine, bringing in so much energy and levity to the dynamic. And then there's Trevor....big, adorable, teddy bear Trevor. His quiet, reassuring presence was so grounding, a great balance for the other two, more energetic members of this throuple.

Their open communication and understanding/insight into each other were such a pleasure to read. And getting more peeks into the rest of the Xmas Village crew, including a very grumpy, very pregnant Cole, was delightful! I'm looking forward to more stories from the rest of them!

What was it Dancer said? He wanted to scale him like a tree? I look up and down the gentle giant as he makes his way to stand in front of me with an obliging smile. I could be a lumberjack.

This second book to From Cocktails to Sleigh Bells was just as fun as I hoped it would be! I loved Dancer, Candy and Trevor, and while I did expect a little more content around the actual , this slice of life holiday story will be a re-read in my future!

“Dancer.”
"They’re right in the—”
“Dancer.” My spine straightens at the deep, commanding timbre of his voice. That’s his no nonsense bouncer voice. I freeze like an elf in Rudolph’s violently red nose light. Prey in the eyes of a hunter.
“Yes?”

I think Trevor had the most character growth - I loved 'business Trevor' and when his confidence to take what he wanted came out! The spice was fun and just as creative as you'd hope with this throuple. I wonder if the author plans to do another 'delivery boy' next and who it might be? There did seem to be a hint of some inter-relationship between two of them. I'll be keeping my eye out for another release!

I read the first book last year during the holiday times so I knew I had to make room for this next installment this year. And if it’s possible I love From Snowball Fights To Hot Summer Nights even more. Wren K morris just knows how to write cute, punny, sweet, and sexy Christmas romances. It’s got magic, found family vibes, Christmas fun, and of course smut hotter than your favorite mug of hot chocolate.
This romance is featuring Dancer, Trevor (the bouncer we met from book one), and a feisty dancer named Candy who is definitely a glass half full, filled with joy kind of gal. I loved how we got these intimate little moments like when Trevor grounds Dancer when he starts to overthink and become anxious. It’s moments like those that show how cued in these characters are to one another that make it so perfect and genuine. This was just everything I want in a holiday themed romance. It’s definitely become a favorite series of mine.

What to expect:
MMF
Christmas puns
Filling in for an injured dancer
Mutual pining
Flavored 💦
Food play
Excellent communication
Polyam, demi, bi, & pan rep

This was such a fun, fluffy read and I really enjoyed it. While the first book in the series follows a different couple and has an HEA, there is a lot of world building/explanation in that first book so I would recommend reading it first. I loved how we get all 3 POVs of our main characters so we can really get in their heads and get to know them a little more quickly. There's fantastic chemistry between all the characters pretty much from the get-go and it is done in a way that highlights their compatibility, not just physical desire. I'd categorize this as zero angst which is exactly what I like in a shorter holiday read. There are moments of doubt, sure, but they are pretty much instantly addressed in a very straightforward and caring way. I do wish we had time to see more scenes of the different configurations of couples building their individual relationships more.

Another low angst, low (no?) conflict holiday(ish) novella. While it’s set during the summer, this is a follow up to From Cocktails to Sleigh Bells, and centers around another member of the Santa Enterprises delivery team, Dancer aka Parker. He’s crushed on Trevor, the bouncer at Cole’s bar, ever since they first met. But he doesn’t know the feeling is mutual. Enter dancer Candy Cane, who plays matchmaker…and catches the eye of both men. These three complement each other in terms of personality and emotion so well. The way they see Trevor how he wants to be seen, how Trevor in particular centers Dancer’s frenetic energy, and how they both adore bubbly Candy. This book is pretty much just 200 pages of sweetness, spice and swoonworthy communication. And though it’s not set at Christmas, there is a snowball fight, tasty waffles, cozy vibes, many peppermint references and a shot of white chocolate mocha…so you kinda forget it's not.

I read this in the hopes of getting out of a reading slump slash slight sad vibes mood for the holidays and I was not disappointed. This book delivered everything I wanted and more.

The story starts with Dancer taking over a dancer's spot at a club after a snowball fight gone wrong. There he meets Candy and hits it off instantly. With a little bit of encouragement, some cinnamon apple waffles, and a dash of Christmas magic, Trevor and Dancer (aka Parker) FINALLY admit their feelings for each other. Except they both want Candy too. And Candy doesn't do relationships.

This was so cute. I am not the biggest fan of insta-love, but I ate this book up. I was giggling and kicking my feet the entire time. I highly recommend listening to Christmas tunes while reading this, you won't regret it. Also, I might never look at my Peppermint Mocha iced coffee the same way again.

I am never going to stop cracking up over jizz flavored by the magic of Christmas.

Edit: I initially gave this book a lower rating because some elements of the story and the characters felt kind of thin to me, but I had to come back and bump up the rating because it has the single greatest and filthiest line I've read in a romance book that's been making me laugh all day and I'm disappointed I didn't write that line. I won't post it here so readers can enjoy it for themselves, but it's the line a character says in response to being told they have a filthy mouth. That line alone is worth a five star rating.

The mold has been set.....

I knew this one was going to be my favorite. I was patient, though, read Kris & Cole's book first, so I was on the same page.
Again, the fat representation makes me fist bump in the air with absolute joy. To see Trevor and not just his size. Not that I care about that. He's a gentle giant and deserves love. As do Dancer and Candy. I got teary-eyed knowing Candy wouldn't have to give up on her dream of traveling. Dancer and his magic!!! These three are perfection. Thank you for sharing. Happy writing. Can't wait for more.

Definitely a fun read! I loved how wholesome and natural it all was. I didn’t feel like the love and or feelings were rushed and I liked how they had real dates before anything too serious was talked about. I loved the communication and want a Trevor for myself lol. Wished the smut was a little spicier but overall it was pretty good (my favorite was the dance scene!) Overall, I highly recommend if you want a smutty Christmas novella to get you into the festive mood. P.s. There’s magical jizz (you’re welcome!)

What did I say in my review for the first book? Something along the lines of: I want a million books set in this world because the characters are all delightful little loves and the magic system and the idea of Santa Enterprises (or whatever it's called) is too perfect for words. Dancer's story was perfect for him, fast-paced and sexy as hell. We got to know the other "reindeer" a lot more in this one and I couldn't get enough of their interactions. It was a little too quick for me, but I loved it nonetheless.

Candy, Dancer, and Trevor have my heart. They're so sweet and so careful of one another, yet incredibly excited to see where their relationships will go. I live for the patience and communication. I love the bits and pieces of past (and future) characters that we get to see. It's fantastic to see they're all still tangled up together and having shenanigans. I can't wait to see who Wren writes next ♡

I adored this fun and spicy story! This was a great little palette cleanser for me inbetween some darker, heavier books I'm reading for the spooky season.
I loved Dancer, Trevor, and Candy. Their chemistry jumps off the page, their personalities are the sweetest, and I just wanted to sit and drink cocoa and hang out with them!
This is book 2 in the series, and though I haven't read book 1 (yet!), I didn't feel like I was missing out on a ton by reading this book first. I will absolutely be reading book 1, it's on my TBR for the winter holiday season!

The second installment to the Misadventure and Mistletoe series was just as good as the first! Candy, Trevor, and Dancer have such unique and fun personalities that mesh well together and provide a lovely dynamic to this book. I devoured it in one sitting and wish I could go back and read it again for the first time!

This was a cute, hot novella set in a world where Kris Kringle is a hot buff guy and his 'reindeer' are actually male 'delivery specialists'. This story centres around one of his delivery specialists, Dancer. This book was fast paced, entertaining with cute moments and some very spicy moments. While I enjoyed it, I actually like book one a lot more.
