Trzeci tom serii poświęconej pradawnym elfom z Akwilonu – świata magii, potworów i demonów. Tropiciele z plemienia Białych Elfów od stu lat podążają śladem białego smoka. Świat Akwilonu wymyślili dwaj francuscy scenarzyści: Jean-Luc Istin („Merlin”, „Les Druides”) i Nicolas Jarry („Zmierzch bogów”, „Les brumes d’Asceltis”, „Les Chroniques de Magon”).
Ten tom „Elfów” stworzyli dwaj inni francuscy autorzy zaproszeni do współpracy nad rozwijaniem tego uniwersum: scenarzysta Olivier Peru (serie fantasy „Mjöllnir” i „Shaman”, cykl ezoteryczny „In Nomine”) oraz rysownik Stéphane Bileau znany w Polsce z opowieści fantasy w realiach arturiańskich „W poszukiwaniu Graala”. W chwili obecnej cykle ze świata Akwilonu liczą łącznie ponad osiemdziesiąt albumów!

Svaki novi nastavak sve je bolji. Opet vrhunski nacrtano, a priča je bila zaista sjajna. Uz jednu veliku dugotraju pustovlovinu, uz skrivenu prošlost i uz sudbinu. Baš mi je drago što sam ovome dao šansu.

White Elf, Black Heart was excellent. It is the story of the White Elves and about a White Elven child with a dark future.

Worried about the future, the child is about to be sacrificed but due to the inherent morality of the elves, they do not kill the child but send him away to be raised by the White Elves on their island. The child grows up to be a strong and adventurous elf, but one with a noble heart.

This elf undertakes a quest to save a white dragon, which he intends to bring back to the island so it may live in security and peace. During his adventures, he makes friends with a human. This friendship will have devastating consequences.

In a dark twist, the elf actually fulfills his prophecy and becomes something very different than the noble elf seeking only to help others.

Great story! Another welcome addition to this superb French comic set in a fantasy world. Highly recommended for any fantasy fan.

Fall is an Elf brought up by White Elves, but he's not one of them. He tracks a legendary white dragon with his adopted father to bring him back to the hidden island where White Elves live. It's a quest that lasted more than a century, but what are the years in the life of an Elf? Just drops of water in the ocean of time. Unfortunately, Fall was never to live as he's a central figure in a prophecy that will bring death to thousands of Elves. Thinking they could change his destiny, his adoptive parents took him in. However, you can't escape the fate. Peru wrote an excellent, emotional story accompanied by nice art. This series keeps improving.

The artwork is slightly different from the last two volumes but the coloring is excellent.
I love the drama and the tragic hero build. The dragon was different than I expected but I liked it all in the end.
Great storytelling and I'm looking forward to reading the next volumes!

The artwork is stunning, but the story was quite simple and didn't do much for me. A lot of the dialog (especially in the first half) was just exposition. It seems like an interesting world, though.

The third book in the Elves series is titled “White Elf, Black Heart”, this is a French series translated into English. As the series say Elves, these are fantasy series, each volume is based on one of the different kind of elves species, this one introduces us to White Elves, these elves have secluded themselves away from the rest of the world with chosen few tasked with collecting creatures which should be preserved from the evil of humankind. Each of the volumes is standalone and can be ready as such. This volume has a different author and illustrator from the previous ones.

One of the plots revolves around the white elves trying to capture a white dragon, the last of its kind, the scope and span of the quest is engaging and very interesting, loved the way passage of time is covered when it comes to Elves. The second part is the intriguing past of the White Elf Fall, it’s kind of predictable and makes for a great ending.

The art is good, the best the series has achieved till now, loved the sketches, landscapes and color.

J'ai trouvé les planches avec le dragon superbes!!

Je ne m'attendais pas à un tel retournement de situation et j'ai trouvé ça génial!! J'apprécie vraiment le personnage de Fall et encore plus à la fin.

J'ai trouvé que le début était long et une fois parti c'était beaucoup trop rapide. L'impasse sur 13 ans d'aventures a été faite, je sais bien qu'il est impossible de raconter les 13 ans mais j'aurai aimé en savoir plus quand même notamment sur les éléments qui ont rendu les deux personnages proches. Et au final pas tant d'actions que ça.
Et j'ai pas compris le comportement d'Alornell...

On suit ici les aventures de deux Elfes blancs, un père et un fils, du moins, il considère l’autre elfe comme un fils et ils sont originaires de l’Archipel qui porte leur nom. Ils sont à la recherche d’un dragon à dominer ; dominer dans le sens où l’un des deux Elfes dominera le dragon mentalement et il deviendra son maître ; le dragon ne servant que de monture.

Mais les saisons passent, seize années en tout mais à la fin, il ne reste plus qu’un Elfe, accompagné d’un jeune humain et ils passeront treize années à le chasser. Ils sont quand même très tenaces. Autant vingt-neuf années pour un Elfe, ce n’est peut-être rien, mais treize années pour un homme, c’est autre chose. Par après, on apprend que les deux Elfes traquent ce dragon depuis au moins un siècle.

Pour le reste, la fin est assez tragique en soi et on en apprend un peu plus sur le passé du fils Elfe car il a des rêves qu’il ne s’explique pas mais qu’il découvre peu à peu à l’aide de son dragon. L’ensemble de l’histoire est correcte, intéressante mais moindre que dans le tome précédent. Je n’ai lu que les trois premiers tomes et si je devais faire un classement, je dirais que le tome 2 arrive en première position, puis le tome 1 et enfin le tome 3. L’histoire est bien en elle-même mais il manque un élément, un petit quelque chose qui ferait que ça relèverait le niveau.

m'encanta la transició i el pas del temps, molt subtil i d'acord amb el context en que es troba. com l'elf es queda igual i passes les pàgines com si fossin dies, però en realitat estan passant anys, estàs en la mentalitat de l'elf. No m'agrada gaire el fet que ell sigui tan descuidat i no tingui en compte que és un perill portar l'amic humà allà, tampoc que l'home no tardi ni 13 mesos a desvelar on es troben les illes blanques. Molt trist. Trobo que la seva reacció és acurada al greuge del que ha passat, però no crec que sigui conseqüent amb ell mateix ni assumeixi part de la responsabilitat, ha sobreestimat el seu amic home. L'elf vivia al mundo de yupi i no, no pot ser.
També sap greu que un simples pirates se'ls hagin caarregat i que no tinguéssin cap sistema de vigilància per prevenir una cosa així, però vaja, suposo que hi ha un a mica d'auto engany i incorrecta estimació dels riscos.

Al igual que en los otros cómic de la saga, las ilustraciones impresionantes, a todo color, con todo lujo de detalles... además de que huelen muy bien y me encantan.

En esta entrega nos encontramos con la historia de Fall, un elfo blanco que se dedica a ir con su padre cazando dragones. No para darles muerte, sino para llevarlos a las Islas Blancas (tierra de los elfos blancos) y salvarlos de las tierras humanas. Durante esta aventura, Fall y su padre buscan a un dragón blanco, un espécimen muy raro jamás cazado por un elfo y menos por un humano. En su búsqueda, que dura años, Fall descubrirá sus verdaderos orígenes y todo ello desembocará en el porvenir de las Islas Blancas, del dragón y del propio Fall... y hasta ahí puedo leer, que no quiero spoilear.

I loved this graphic novel. It pictures an orphan with his adopting family of white elves. He wants to know where he came from but his family claims they don't know.
He and his father go dragon tracking. It is to preserve the species... While his father and he help to get a baby boy in this world, later on they help the father to save his son... The elf gets hurt and his adopted son stays hunting the dragon. He hunts it with the human but what he accomplishes with the human and what the outcome is... it is way worse then someone would have thought.

Bon rien d'étonnant, les dessins sont toujours aussi jolis. Remplis de détail, de couleurs, de jeux d'ombre. Et cette fois ci le récit est signé Olivier Peru que j'adore. Donc rien d'étonnant à ce que j'ai apprécié l'intrigue. Encore une fois, on a un texte bien dramatique qui nous montre que le destin ne peut pas être déjoué. J'ai beaucoup aimé le personnage de Fall. Hâte de découvrir la suite.

Dwa elfy polują na skoma, żeby go zabrać do siebie, bo przecież jedyną prawdziwą wolność otrzyma właśnie na ich wyspie. A przy okazji dochodzi do zdrady, bo ludzie to takie zdradzieckie kurwy. Nie podobają mi się też same Białe elfy - bo nie są dumne, lecz pyszne. A pycha kroczy przed upadkiem i kiedy do upadku dochodzi, to kto jest winny? No ludzie, a jakże inaczej.

O MÓJ BOŻE, CZY TO BĘDZIE MÓJ ULUBIONY TOM? BYĆ MOŻE…?! Ta historia przepełniła moje serce czerwonością, tylko po to, by finalnie przygnieść je i pozwolić mu wypłynąć, rozlewając różane flaki na miękkim skrzydle Białego Smoka. Ostatnie słowa Falla były najcięższym i najbardziej bolesnym zwieńczeniem historii

Una gran serie pero, de momento, este es el peor de los tres que he leído. El dibujo es fantástico, como siempre pero, el guión no es excesivamente bueno, aunque se le ven detalles narrativos de calidad.

Good story and great art. Once again it is a different story from the two books that precede it. This series is very interesting but I feel that sometimes some of the storytelling is rushed because each story is told in only one book. I hope these characters will appear in future books.

C’est très intéressant d’en apprendre plus sur le peuple elfique. Les Elfes Blancs sont au cœur de cette histoire, et cela permet de développer un peu plus le lore de la série. Hâte de lire les autres tomes !

Your usual Start of Darkness story, flavored by an Orpheus-level you can't escape fate prophecy.

Talented, naive, happy-go-lucky youngster immortal goes on quest to find and capture the last of the white dragons, and encounters humans along the way. I loved the way the passage of time was marked in this book, with a human child as the standard.

Białe Elfy okazują się być niezwykle mało interesujące, rasa tak dumna, że aż pełna pychy. Cała sprawa z podążaniem tropem białego smoka przez dziesiątki lat też nie jest zbyt pasjonująca. Postaci? Mamy tu dwa tandemy w relacji przybrany ojciec-przybrany syn, aż się prosiło o wyciśnięcie z nich kontrastów i jakiejś głębi, niestety wszystko pozostaje tu na płytkim i pretekstowym poziomie.
Graficznie jest bardzo tak sobie, nie zawsze od razu widać co się dzieje, a dziwna maniera częstego kadrowania z dalekich planów, tak, że postaci bywają naprawdę maciupeńkie wcale nie pomaga.
