This one is different from the other Violet Reigns books I’ve read. As usual, it is very well written with very evocative storylines and characters.

This is seven short stories (there’s a bonus story) graded on my short story scale. And a positive for me (a guy), no men lose any body parts.

Reigns’s stories generally have an ethereal or dreamlike feel to them, and many of these stories embody these feelings. The Bonus Story is quite different and does not have that ethereal feel, but is very engaging as a young woman tries to deal with her father’s bohemian outlook.

Thoroughly enjoyable! A solid 5 Stars.

ps: I’ve been asked what’s “ethereal” about Reigns’s stories. I feel a man needs to be in a dreamlike state and in, for the moment, a safe place for him to let a woman de-ball him without a Battle Royale. Most of the men go quite willingly. I think Reigns’s writing is special to create this environment for the characters and the readers in so many of her stories. It’s a quality to her writing that I don’t really understand, but she’s got the magic touch and seems to be able to create it at will. A remarkable talent!

Cruel to be kind?

These ladies have quite a penchant for cruelty, alongside kindness of a sort! They just love locking up their partners in chastity cages, they say 'it's for your own good'..not too sure about that! This is a fascination for me, I read 'Chsstity Mansion' occasionally just to see how giving up control to your KH actually works for both. I like the line in the book where she says to him 'you've given me an engagement ring to show my commitment to you' now wear a cage to show the same to me. A great set of chastity reads Violet, if anyone's thinking of the lifestyle, this is a good place to get some info..

Locked Up! is probably the missing link in Violet Reigns’s work, a collection of stories featuring male chastity. And it’s everything we’d expect from her, six very different stories with polished writing and plenty of thrills.

I say the missing link because she’s written about male chastity plenty of times before, but never dedicated a book to it. It also has a few cameos that link it to other books, like Amanda Bell from The Perfect Girlfriend in the Shelled Nuts series, and Gigi Fox from Pumped in Milkmaids.

I’m going to break my no spoilers rule with this review, because the first and aptly named story, The Choice, lingered in my mind long after reading it. At the first read, I thought it was a spine-tingling thriller, an expert study about controlling relationships. But after reading Stealing Candy later in the book, I went back and read the final scene again and realised what Violet has done. She’s given the reader the choice about how the story ends. This is hard to pull off, but oh boy it works well.

You can read this story as having a sinister, cruel ending with Declan locked up in chastity forever, or you can read it as he’s finally passed Bella’s test and she’s going to let him out. The clue, for me at least, is that Candy, in Stealing Candy, tells Logan that Lock-It cages come with two keys. As all the chastity cages in the book are Lock-It devices, it stands to reason that Bella has another key, so she has the capacity to let Declan out of his cage. That’s my theory anyway. I’m sure Violet will tell anyone who wants to know.

If you want six different spicy and hot spins on male chastity (and a bonus story), which range from scary and sinister to satirical and funny, while being unnervingly arousing, give it a whirl.

I read this a month or so back, a collection of short stories all revolving around chastity, forced in most cases. If being locked in chastity or locking someone in chastity is your kink, these stories may be right up your alley. Admittedly there is a bonus story in the latest Kindle version which I did not finish as I found it unsettling.
