I love the character of Autumn Trent. I liked her when she popped up in the Winter Black series and was thrilled she was going to have a series of her own. Another strong character with unique abilities which lent themselves perfectly to the anticipated story lines. Having said that, I am sad to say I am stepping away from the series permanently. While the author asserted in the beginning of this book, it wasn't about Justin Black, a prominent character from the Winter Black series. I did not find that to be the case, IMHO. He has reared his ugly head in each of this series books. His disturbing and twisted situation was resolved, quite satisfactorily, at the end of the excellent Winter Black series. And, yet, here is that character once again overshadowing the story. As the author has quite successfully proven to have quite a vivid imagination and wonderful way of conveying her thoughts and stories into print, she certainly has enough material with such an interesting character as Autumn Trent to keep the focus on her, on her interactions with the rest of the team and as the main topic of the stories. It IS called the "Autumn Trent" series, isn't it? Having stuck with the series for four books, hopeful that the Justin Black shadow story line would finally be closed, I see that is not going to be the case. I know I am in the minority and an truly sorry to leave such a fabulous character as Autumn Trent. But, I have had more than enough of the Justin Black story.

A good book, but the series is getting kind of predictable. Someone from the FBI gets kidnapped or hurt by a serial killer, and everyone drops everything they're doing to rescue them. But, my mama didn't raise a quitter so I technically have to finish the series. Plus, I want to see if Winter and Noah end up getting married.

Dr Autumn Trent and the BAU team have returned from Florida where they successfully solved a case. Now she's at the Virginia State Hospital to work with Justin Black who was kidnapped when he was six and raised by a serial killer called the Preacher. But when she's in the elevator a body falls through the top and a new case begins.
I received an ARC of this book from the author and this is my honest review. I've really enjoyed this series and this book is no exception. It's well-written with well-rounded characters, some of whom you'll like and others you won't. It pulled me in from the beginning and kept me hooked until the end. You'll be kept guessing and will often be on the edge of your seat. I read this fast-paced thriller in one sitting and am eager for the next book. I highly recommend both book and series which I suggest you read in order. I also suggest reading the Winter Black series before this one for even more benefit and enjoyment.

Autumn's Rage (Autumn Trent Series Book 4) by Mary Stone is a fantastically amazing story that I have read. This is book number four in this fantastically amazing series that I have loved reading. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about thriller and suspense stories.

This latest book in the Autumn Trent series is the best to date. I love the way Mary has of weaving all the characters together in both this series and the Winter Black series. Another keep you on the edge of your seat book.

Horrific Elevator Ride
At the end of Autumn’s Fear, Autumn, Winter and Noah are heading into a strip club in Florida to try and find her sister, Sarah. The story picks up in chapter two of Autumn’s Rage. It was interesting and at times funny.
Autumn Trent is on her way to visit Justin Black at the Virginia State hospital when she experiences a horrific elevator ride. Beware, if you have an elevator phobia because you will think twice about getting in it and then you will look up at the ceiling. Murders are being committed at the hospital which lead to Autumn and her FBI coworkers being assigned the task of finding the killer. Winter Black is not one of those assigned since her brother Justin Black is locked up in the hospital.
Justin Black’s actions are taking a toll on Winter and it is wearing on her relationship with Noah. Autumn is still trying to determine Justin Black’s mental health and whether he can be helped. Justin elicits all kinds of reactions from feeling sorry for him to hoping he gets the death penalty.
The killer is found and Justin is plotting what sounds like his escape at the end of the book. Hopefully, the next book in Autumn’s series will be out soon.
Mary Stone’s stories draw you in and involve you in the life of her characters. I really hope Autumn finds her sister and Winter and Noah survive Justin. I am looking forward to Autumn’s next book.

Although they had been successful in locating many missing children, the horror of the mothers' deaths was overwhelming. Additionally, while Autumn had located Sarah, she had only succeeded in driving her sister on the run once more.

Given the apparent 'facts' the local LEO and FBI find the hospitals director in their crosshairs. A second murder and an audio tape further implicate the doctor. Only Autumn questions the evidence.

As the team tries to track her location, a Suicide bag is tightening around Autumn's face and she is taking her final breaths.

I enjoyed the book mostly. BUT. It's time for Justin Black to not be a cornerstone of the story. For much of the book, Winter Black looked weak and emotionally a basketcase so much so that she couldn't do her job well. What part of him not ever becoming a real human does she not understand. By the end there was a glimmer of hope that she might be pulling her head out and I hope she does in the next book. Also the friendships seemed to be jarringly disjointed because of Winters emotional status. They were unable to support each other as I've come to expect. The story couldn't hold together because of the disruption of friendships.
OH! and what's with having an FBI agent who is a total douche? Really the FBI would put up with a agent who is obviously ego driven and dismissive of any thoughts but his own? IF the FBI puts up with men like him it might explain a lot about our country.
I'll keep reading with the hope that the books come back to their great stories.

Not sure
As much as I am liking this series this one in particular just seems to have too much justin. From what I see, Autumn Trent series is connected to Winter Black series. Their intertwined. Both books are connected so what happens to Winter effects Autumn and what happens to Autumn effects Winter. I guess I didn't see it that way until now.
I personally don't like Winter and stopped her series quick l, as much as I like this Trent series, I'm kinda getting bored of Justin.
I am a HUGE fan of Mary Stone but I think I'll quit the series for now. If both books were two different entities, I'd love Autumn more but...oh well.

A little less killing
Not the usual fifty gross murders in this book. There were extra people who died in order to have Autumn's Rage. Still at the Virginia State Hospital high security, Autumn has a body drop out of the elevator ceiling. Someone is killing people at the hospital to push the blame toward the current director. You know Mary Stone books. Winter and Noah are hung up in their relationship. Winter and Autumn are on the outs. All surrounding Justin and Winter wanting and wishing for a miraculous recovery which Noah and Autumn both know isn't going to happen. Throw in an bloodthirsty orderly and a couple of bodies around the hospital and another story is solved through hard work and dedication of the different sections of the FBI.

Autumn is a great character. This story has her pulled in several directions personally and professionally. There are hints of romance through Winter and Noah and the premise of a relationship with Autumn and Aiden. The connection to Winter’s series through her brother and what he is planning connects through as the overarching story, but the focus is a new crime spree in the same mental hospital. The villain was not known until the end and the emotional impact was interesting. There is a cliffhanger, but to the overarching story with Justin, Winter’s Brother, not the new case with several hospital murders.

Wundervoll spannend geschrieben, in verschiedenen Erzählsträngen und -perspektiven. Der Täter nutzt hier die 1. Person Singular, während die eigentliche Handlung durch den Erzähler in der 3. Person Singular wiedergegeben wird. Eine dramatische Wendung kippt unsere Vorstellung des Täters und hält uns fest umklammert, so dass eine Unterbrechung der Lektüre nur mit großem Widerwillen und einiger Anstrengung gelingt.
Spannend von der ersten Seite an, doch geht der Spannungsbogen noch enorm in die Höhe, bevor es zum Showdown kommt.
Mir hat das Buch wieder sehr gut gefallen.

I so agree with many readers who felt Winter appeared weak and blind to her brother's shenanigans which I am really getting tired of. I followed this author to Autumn's series since she failed to conclude the story line in Winter's series. However, I will be an unhappy camper if she leaves things up in the air again to entice us to read her series by another character.
I thought the plot was creative but too many pages of descriptions and peoples' thoughts. And my favorite line of all times to hate: "This would be like trying to find a hymen in a whorehouse." Just ugh......

Too much Justin and Winter Black
This book was a disappointment. Too much time spent on Justin Black. Too much time spent on Winter’s irrational behavior towards her serial killer brother. I do agree with Justin’s assessment of Winter’s behavior as a moronic idiot. I think it will carry on through the next book or 2 in the series since this book ended with “to be continued “. Which means less of Autumn Trent and developing her character, and more of Winter’s irrational behavior. Enough already.

The administrator, Dr Phillip Baldwin, is the top suspect. autumn doesn't care for him but believes he's innocent. Another murder takes place, he's arrested but let go. The real culprit kidnaps Autumn and Phillip planning to kill Autumn and frame Phillip but the team arrives in time to help Phillip fight him off and Winter rips the bag from Autumn us head and face. Great storyteller. Love it.

Great read!
Another great book by Mary Stone. I love all her series. They have strong female leads. The characters are very well developed and believable. I feel like they are friends know them personally. The dialogue flows freely and smoothly. The editing is always well done. There are no spelling or grammatical errors. No profanities or inappropriate sexual situations. For that reason I recommend this book to anyone that loves murder mysteries.

I liked this one a little less because, reading the back to back, this one had too much in common with the last one. Granted, a serial killer is likely to have a god complex of some type, but when the inner thoughts are so similar that it's readily noticeable, it's off-putting for the reader. Also, it's time for Autumn to start being more cautious.
The author needs to spend a little time checking verb tenses, especially perfect tenses, so that the correct ones are used.

When Autumn goes to the Virginia State Mental Hospital where serial killer, Justin Black, is being held. She uncovers a murder victim. She and her FBI team investigate. Autumn believes that the person they think is guilty is not. She is proven correct and almost loses her life. Another fast-paced entry in the series. I could not put it down. The characters are so interesting and their interactions make you wonder what will happen next. I enjoyed and would recommend this book.

Mary Stone has a very unique way of writing that Absolutely keeps you awake Reading.I finished Autunm's Rage tonight. Lord I am so Hooked by this Series of Books.!!!! Once you Start You Cannot Stop.!!!!! Read On You will Love This Series.!!!!!

Great read a real page turner.
Great read a real page turner, lot a twists and turns. it was hard to A down at times. . The aurhor is a great story teller, has a way with words and paints a picture so well you think your write there living with them. It had an amazing number twist and turns that I just didn't see coming, it was frustrating at times , but it had a satisfying ending. . I really kept looking forward to the next reading section of it.
Great read a real page turner, lot a twists and turns. it was hard to A down at times. . The aurhor is a great story teller, has a way with words and paints a picture so well you think your write there living with them. It had an amazing number twist and turns that I just didn't see coming, it was frustrating at times , but it had a satisfying ending. . I really kept looking forward to the next reading section of it.

Another winner in the Autumn Trent/Winter Black series. The only disappointment was that I read the book in a weekend. Would’ve liked it to last a little longer. Keep the books coming! I’m ready for something thrilling to happen already with the Justin Black storyline!

Is anyone safe inside of a locked down medical ward?
This book is just as good as the other books in the Winter Black series! It's not too graphic. A good mystery with a completely surprising ending and plenty of twists and turns to get there. This one primarily takes place inside of a secure medical center where we don't know who's the most devious person in the place!

Autumn's Rage is very adictive. I literally couldn't put it down.

That gets scary with each one.
The stories are more suspenseful with each book. I can't imagine what book 5 is going to be like. I will have to start reading them only in daylight. I would recommend reading a Winter one and then a Autumn one just to keep up with the perspective of each case.

THEY KEEP ON COMING
The best crime mysteries out today and they just keep on coming. So addictive I can’t wait to finish one so I can start another. If you like good, exciting crime mysteries I recommend you check this series out. I give it a 10 star because it is so and so hard to find a place to stop.
