As much as I fought against it, I’ve woken up in the one place an ex-soldier never wants to find themselves—behind enemy lines.
Now, the fae are hunting me through an enchanted forest, and I know the terrifying reason why.
There’s one stalker in particular who I can’t seem to shake; a violent kitsune with a wicked grin that sets my pulse racing for more reasons than it should.
He claims to be my fated mate, offering me his heart, but how can I trust someone who seems utterly unhinged?
I don’t have time to play his games. I’m not the only one in danger, and I’ll stop at nothing to find my real mate.
But when a nightmare from my old life reappears, I can’t run from my demons any longer.
Can I defeat the monster from my past? Or will a new one take my heart first?
Get Foxed is a fast-burn, why choose paranormal romance novella with more love interests introduced throughout the series. See author website for CWs. This series is set in the same universe as the completed Fae Mate Hunt series, with some crossover, but can be read independently.
Sakura Black is a British author who spends her days pretending to be a sensible adult. Most of the time, she gets to write steamy fantasy and paranormal romance, often dreaming up wild stories about frightfully sweet monsters and the women they’re lucky enough to fall horns over tail for.
I actually loved this one more than the first... Oh no...
I felt that Neiron and Kelsea had more chemistry than she and Rattle did, but I also felt like Rattle and Kelsea didn't get as much relationship building as these two.
I adored the playful banter and the absolutely wild gifts he kept leaving her in order to win her heart, and that instead of freaking out she really just gave him an eyeroll while he held a heart in his hands lmao.
It was a wild ride in the best way, and I really can't wait for the next book. I hope they get longer with more conversations and build up. This one had so much more than the first and I hope the trend continues. :)
I also can't wait to see all of her mates and her together.
Book two continues on, we meet a crazy kitsane Neiron who is out protecting his land. There he sees two males going after a scrumptious female. But she took care of herself. Color himself impressed. After Neiron talked to Kelsea he senses he is his fated mate. Now the crazy stalking/Courting comes. Kelsea believes her only mate is Rattle. But why is she attracted to his fox? But, she is on a quest to find Rattle, but Neiron offers his help to his mate, but she must do something in return? What will it be.. but also will our feisty heroine accept his help? Yet the strangers she meets brings back old acquaintances from her past that she thought left behind. I found this interesting and wished I read Rattle, but was able to follow along with the story. You don’t have to read book 1, I think Kelsea will be paired with another mate? So kinda like a reverse harem, Kelsea and whomever meet first but not all together yet? Anyways, this kept me on my toes and this is not for the faint of heart. This does have some questionable touch her and see what I’ll do moments. Not doubts on Neiron’s mind what’s so ever,
Thank you Sakura Black for sending me this advance review copy for free. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This was a fun violent chaotic little romp though Faerie. I lost track of the number of hearts Neiron handed his mate. His brain is bonkers, and he lives up to the name Psycho King very well. He is straight up unhinged in every way.
This was full tilt action, with the same fantastic snarky banter we got in the first book. The spice was also fun, and we always love spicy flying scenes!
I can't wait to read the next book, and see where this goes!
Second instalment in the Monster Mate Hunt series - the story of Kelsea continues.
Another very short read perfect for a cozy evening - same as the first one with just over a hundred pages, fast paced, full of adventure and with all the tropes. And so funny it got me laughing out loud quite a few times!
After unsuccessfully trying to avoid capture in Scottish Highlands Kelsea is finally whisked to the Enchanted Forest for the hunt. She got separated from Rattle and so now has to fend for herself in the alien environment full of dangerous challenges and even more dangerous predators.
But she's lucky as almost immediately, at the very beginning of the treacherous journey to get herself out of the forest and to find Rattle again, she meets Neiron - beastly handsome, slightly unhinged and positively bloodthirsty kitsune king. Will he help her get out of this mess unharmed or is he after a sample like everyone else? And will he help her find Rattle or are they just empty words?
I must say, I liked Neiron even more than Rattle - with his boyish charm and alarming affection for freshly plucked beating hearts he's just as lethal but slightly more adorable. Cannot wait for these two to finally meet!
"So, you're going to fuck me like an animal?" A wicked launch had my breath catching. "No, siren, I'm going to love you like a monster."
Second in the Monster Mate Hunt series, this short book picks up after Rattled ends. Kelsea has been taken to be part of a fae hunt. But she's not going down easiy. This draws the attention of Neiron, a fae king. He realizes Kelsea is his mate, but she won't accept it since she is mates with Rattle.
Kelsea's objectives while in the fae world are to find Ratttle - and stay alive. Neiron is following Kelsea, leaving her little "gifts" along the way. He finally offers her a bargain: if she acknowledges him as her mate, he'll help her find Rattle. Can Kelsea trust the word of this fae?
Neiron is such a great character, witty but deadly. And Kelsea is a totally strong woman. Their interactions? Perfection.
In the second part of the series, Sakura Black takes readers on a hunting trip to the enchanted forest. Once again, the warrior Kelsea shows her strong side when she has to fight not only unwanted "admirers", but also demons from her past. In my opinion, this part is better than the first one. And all thanks to a violent kitsune with a wicked grin. He is an extraordinary character who is ready for anything to convince Kelsea that they are meant to be together. Amazing chemistry between the characters, a psychotic courtship towards Kelsea, a lot of spice and a lot of laughter make the book a pleasure to read. I missed Rattle quite a bit and I hope to see a glimpse of this character in the next book. I received an Advance Reader’s Copy and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. She totally warned that squeaky biter. She may not want to deal with the psychic kitsune, but Kelsea so has to admit the male was entertainingly hilarious while the madness roamed free. Jumping to the defence of his mate, only to be smacked down. Umm.. nah, I think your mate sucka punch due to the my bloody Valentine moment! Oh Zechariah got off to easy, shoulda thrown him to the boudas. One grumpy Lamia was plenty thank you, but Kelsea can resist the craziness that is Neiron? Yep Kelsea is so going to have her hands full wrangling these loons

Part II follows on seamlessly from Part I. In her search for her grumpy lamia Rattle, Kelsea meets an extremely bloodthirsty and crazy kitsune in this nightmarish forest. Neiron - The Psychoking. Neiron's wooing of Kelsea takes a bit... getting used to (Normal is definitely different).lol Kelsea also seems to be uncovering more and more about the “dark side of the Mate Hunt spectacle” and meets an old... acquaintance.
I liked the flow of the story and the many laughs. - I'm really excited to see what happens next here.
This is the 2nd book in this series and again, a great read. It's the continuation of Kelsea's story. Only in this book, there is a rather persistant winged, kitsune - Neiron. :D Again there is the wonderful banter between these characters as their story unfolds with the continued adventures. It has the spice and humour that I love in my reading and Sakura writes a very enjoyable story. Again, I was lucky to enjoy an ARC and couldn't wait to read and review. I look forward to reading more by this author.
Oh my goodness!! This was sooo good! I loved it even more than the first in this series! It was so fast paced and engaging that I literally forgot I was reading! If I thought the first MMC was unhinged and cocky, he has nothing on Neiron, he is the definition of unhinged psycho love interest, and I’m so here for it! I am so excited for where this series is going to go, and what’s going to happen with our feisty, FMC Kelsea. 100% recommend this!
Received this as an Arc in exchange for an honest review
More character building for the FMC in this book, loved the new fated mate that is absolutely unhinged 🤣, love how different he is from the Lamia last book and I'm looking forward to seeing who all of her mates are and seeing them interact with one another. She keeps her verified bada$$ card in my opinion because let's be fuckin honest any other human would be DEAD if they were in her shoes this book. All the nay-sayers can kick rocks. Knotting and stretching in this books with some nice dirty talk- big fan
I’m really loving these monster mate hunt books. I like that they’re short reads filled with delicious spice.
I’m enjoying the reluctant mate trope, she’s figuring herself out as her mates find and ‘support’ her in their way. Lol i really love this crazy foxy dude. It’s pure entertainment watching him try to woo her.
Ya'll this book had me laughing out loud so many times! the MMC's antics and internal dialog was hilarious. I loved how the FMC reacted to him as well, and I can't wait until the next book to see how the personalities all start to meld together! I am constantly in awe of how Sakura can have multiple books in a series and yet the personalities and stories never feel repetitive, her writing style is why she has become one of my favorites to read! Can't wait for the next book <3!!
Neiron It's probably now one of my favorite male characters. He takes sunshine to a whole other level because it's sunshine mixed with psycho mixed with extreme cheeky flirtation. It is like the complete opposite of Kelsea because she's like kinda grumpy but understandably so. I can't way to read the next book to see what happens next because how much more crazy can it get.
I am loving these spicy novellas - Kelsea is an awesome, badass FMC!! And next up - Neiron, the crazy, psycho kitsune! (I do love a kitsune). And wow, that is an unusual style of wooing... I love the banter, and the fact that Sakura manages to fit in so much plot and sexy time into a novella - bring on the next one!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I like how this book started and ended. I really like this second mate of hers. He knows who she is and takes her for who she is. He goes over and beyond for her. Even though he's a little, maybe another, unhinged, he knows that she's still it for him. I definitely like his dynamic and how she eventually evolves and starts to enjoy him.
A delightful romance full of (still-beating) heart
Though a quick read, the story doesn't feel ill-paced. The characters are fun and believable, the setting is lovely, and despite the whole "fated mate" angle, the build of the relationship is satisfying and doesn't drag or rush. Oh, and the spice is fiery and thoroughly enjoyable!
This one was better than Rattled for sure! Neiron is just the perfect blend of Golden Retriever, psycho stalker, blood thirsty lunatic, alpha a*hole, hilarious deliciousness wrapped into one feisty kitsune. Did I mention the hunk has a knot???? 🥵
Action packed, fast paced and extremely entertaining. 🌶️🌶️🫑
This story picks up where book 1 left off. Kelsea wakes up in a forest with no shoes, no weapons and barely any clothes. She's chased by shifters, fairies, humans and a love struck kitsune.
All she wants to do is survive the hunt and find her mate. Unfortunately for her, she finds more than she bargained for. Can't wait to see what she gets up to in book 3.
I LOVED this book. Once you get over the whole 'she bangs a snake then a fox' then it's a fantastic read. Sakura writes really well and I loved the MMC. I haven't read a book with a personality like his so it was incredibly refreshing. It was also hilarious in parts, like I'm giggling in bed kinda funny.
Sakura takes the readers in an adventure through the far enchanted forest where the heroine meets her mates. I like these books they are fast temp and short for a light and easy read on the weekend with a good amount of spice as the cherry on top.
I think Kelsea is my mate also. Her fierceness keeps me wanting more of the book. I’m constantly waiting to see what she’ll do next. This series has me captivated and I can’t wait to see what happens after this
Sakura Black has written another gripping storyline featuring Kelsea. Her new mate gives her his heart (well hearts, of other fae wanting to sample Kelsea's delights). I'm really looking forward to the next book, does Kelsea find love with her mates, does she find more. I can't wait
I moved to the second because it was a quick read, yet again. And yet again I felt just as annoyed as with the first. These characters annoy me... But at least there's less typos this round.
Ohmygosh these books need to be longer!! This one was even better than the first; since the first book had already established the storyline, this one could really focus on the relationship building between the two. & I absolutely loved every single bit of it.
It’s like she wrote this mate for me. I cackled along with him and loved the “gifts” that he brought the main FMC. I devoured the first two books of this series quickly. I cannot wait for the next one.
Book 2... I can't even stop grinning! What fun this book is! I mean it has humour, adventure, beautiful monsters and just a delight to read! It 🔥 and spicy! Loved it!!!!!
This was an absolute freaking treat. I accidentally mistook it for a standalone, but now I've downloaded book 1 and will probably stay up too late reading it 😆😆
