Lonnie Skyeborne always knew at least three things to be true:
She was human in a land of fairies. She hated the royals above everyone else. She was a liar. Except, ever since becoming the queen of Elsewhere, everything Lonnie knows to be true is crumbling around her. The castle has fallen, the crown has been stolen, and the kingdom of Elsewhere is overrun by rebels and monsters.
It’s a bad time to be a human in the country of Elsewhere…except that might no longer apply to Lonnie.
While on the road to Aftermath, the human queen is finding it harder and harder to speak a falsehood….especially about whom she claims to hate.

The Last Heir of Elsewhere feels like a reward for sticking with Lonnie’s lies, navigating the twisted history of Elsewhere, and the jaded fae in Lords of the Hunt and The Lady of Nightmares. The third book of the Wilde Fae series was swashbuckling, sexy, and fun. Some questions were answered while others were left for Book 4–which I will impatiently wait for—and the action and plot of this book ran forward at a charged pace while somehow also giving us some deeper character development, especially Lonnie and Scion.
We went from Inbetwixt to the woods, the sea, and more. A lot of the side characters were left out while a few new and really interesting ones were introduced. I do hope to see more of Aine in Book 4–her gift is both horrifying and fascinating.
The trio are still figuring out how to navigate the curse, prophecy, and each other and Lonnie is also confronting herself—her trauma, lies, and personal history. She also finally spends some time dealing with the loss of her sister—an event from Book 1 that felt completely unresolved and rushed past. Overall, it feels like we’re finally getting to see the real Lonnie in this book and she is fierce and unabashedly goes after what she wants. I definitely like this Lonnie better than the Lonnie of Books 1 and 2. She is more active, demonstrating agency but also letting her mates take charge.
The same goes for Scion. His cold and cruel demeanor was peeled back so we can understand his machinations but he was still consistent. Bael had some excellent scenes and was his usual clever and quirky self but gets to unleash himself in the best and totally rewarding ways.
I’m on the fence about Ambrose. On the one hand, he’s swoon-worthy. On the other, he’s sort of creepy. I won’t say more.
I received an ARC from the author. There were a few slight typos throughout Part 2 but nothing so terrible to distract from what a fun read this is and the strongest book of the series so far.
I went into this with not the highest of expectations, based on the first 2 books. In fact, I wasn’t even sure I wanted to continue this series…but DAYUM I’m glad I did!! The harem is finally growing, Scion stops being an idiot, Bael continues to be the best, and we are introduced to Ambrose as a love interest. The world building and politics and side quests are hopefully behind us now. Now I’m looking forward to the final book and finally uncovering who Lonnie really is!
This is the third book in the adult romantasy series Wilde Fae, and really introduces us (and Lonnie) to Ambrose. Tropes include a sassy FMC, why choose, touch her and die, fated mates, hidden identities and possessive MMCs. Please see content warnings for adult topics and violence.
The Lovely: I love these characters and the dynamics between them. We do get to see Lonnie spend time with Bael and Scion concurrently, which I throughly enjoyed. I like that each of the MMCs is so different from each other. After book two I said Scion was growing on me. Now, I would say I really like Scion and even Ambrose is starting to grow on me just a bit. I hope we get to see all four together in book four.
Also Lovely: I also loved the various points of view and their impact on the narration of the story. Lonnie is still rather unreliable and you don’t know when she’s purposefully lying or just saying something wrong because she doesn’t know the truth. The mysteries, especially relating to the past and the curse, make this so engaging to read.
Rating: 4.5/5 Stars 3/5 Flames
Recommendation: I received an advance review copy, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. I started this book the night it hit my kindle and was squealing in delight at being back with these characters. The spicy scenes (mfm) were 🥵🥵🥵 and I can only imagine what will happen in book four. Which, book four is due to be released in October of this year. If you like a bit of mystery and secretive characters, along with a why choose situation, in your epic fantasy, I think you would like this book.
After looking at all the other ratings, I am quite certain that my opinion is unpopular. If I had better recollection of the plot and why exactly did I rate the first book 5⭐s and then the next 4⭐s, maybe I'd have rated this one higher. But it was meh.
Talking about the plot, yes, it is interesting and there are questions I'd like answered but I just think the writing was a bit laying it on thick like Thick™ because Lonnie's sudden serenades and waxing poetic declarations of love is a bit...overrated and quite frankly, annoying. Because her words say one thing but her actions do the opposite. Maybe I'm just not into the harem that is being built but I found it extremely odd how she warmed up to Ambrose so very easily than Scion or Bael, even. All was forgiven in less than over a week of being kidnapped by him and suddenly, she has tingles and is looking at him different while knowing damn well she left her mates behind to protect them. Not once do they cross her mind when she shoves her hand down her pants to rub on out while watching Ambrose shower - the same man she accused of being responsible for killing her only friend: her sister. He's also the man responsible for the destruction of the obsidian castle and Lonnie - who hated the high fae before being thrusted into their world - is suddenly having the hots for yet another Fae royal 😐 bffr 😐😐
Besides, it was implied that Ambrose knew her or met her once when she was a literal child and he's a grown hundred plus year old fae. For the sake of the fantasy, I usually don't find it hard to ignore the age gap spanning generations 😭 but this one in particular was odd because it's different when you meet someone as a woman and very different when you've met someone as a child and then thirst after them once they're grown. Odd and creepy. I also don't quite understand yet if Ambrose has affection for Lonnie since the way he talked about her being a part of his dreams for the last how many years and how he wants to know her and bla bla bla or simply a curiosity or challenge to see unfold since he can't see her future despite being the most competent seer.
The freaky scenes were overrated. I simply wasn't feeling it and skimmed through the entire threesome scene in the second last chapter after they reunite on the ship. The bathroom scene was next - being rated in ascending order - and me being the most predictable woman after all would say the scene with Scion in the barn was top one. Nothing like inhibitions finally snapping away and you simply have no choice but to do it because the tension has reached an almost physically painful point. That part, yes. But the fact that she was hurt and sure sharing blood healed her but quickly glossing over it is eh. Also, they're all way too alpha-male-ish and it's corny to me when they talk dirty like that 😭 sorry 😭 not sorry 🙂 But I very much lik the blood sharing and biting like gimme more ☺️
And the worst possible thing was including those ugly ass illustrations of what the characters look like at the start of each chapter with their pov 🙄 BOOOOO 👎🏼👎🏼 quit disrupting my imagination and fantasy. Besides, I'd already imagined Scion to have long black hair going till the end of his lower back and a pale alabaster, cutting edge face so sorry if I don't want him to look like every other stubbled, dark haired lead of a dark mafia-esque romance 🤷🏻♀️ I mean not that my imagination would be very far off from yet another favored standard but I like it much better when fae are long and spindly and lean and elegant and sharp and ya get my point, right?
I'm proud of myself for actually writing such a long review 😁

I love this series... But gotdayum, can we calm down all the Eiffel Towering? Talk about a reverse harem.🫠 Why choose between two hogs when you can have 'em both?🍆 Lonnie's really out here to man-handle some ham-candles. Also, I spy an orgy in the next book...😬
Look, I don't read books for the smut.I like a lot of plot with a side dish of romance.❤️ This book just wasn't it for me. Kind of a weak third book with a lot of filler. The plot dragged until the last several chapters where Bael went absolutely feral on his pops.🦁 Lion Bael > Fae Bael ALL DAY ERR DAY. And we love a grumpy Scion, of course! He told people to fuck off every other word. Relateable. Ambrose is cool and all, but does Lonnie seriously need to polish his banister, too? Jesus. She is a certified horndog.🌭
Also, Kate King could seriously use a better editor. That being said, she is a great Indie author, and I do recommend this series.
For those of you who like plot and world building, this is the series for you! This is a high fantasy story with Fae (beautiful as well as monstrous). We are three books in and still don't fully understand who and what Lonnie (fmc) is. She is clearly so much more than a human but it's a slow climb to the answer. Book three was action packed as well as full of some sweet and spicy moments. Can't wait for book four!
☑ RH (no MM no FF) ☑ High Fantasy ☑ Slow burn ☑ Heat = 🌶🌶 (there are a few scenes but very tame). ☑ Strong fmc, enemies-to-lovers ☑ Not particularly dark, read authors TWs ☑ Cliffhanger - mild (book 4 is the final)
I do think that I like this series more with each book that comes out. I will admit that I wasn't exactly happy with the way Ambrose was added to the group, but I think that once the dust settles, he will fit in extraordinarily we'll with the others.
✨️For Bael, she was the delicate servant girl who made him feel useful with how much she needed him. For Scion, she was the fighter, the equal, who challenged him in a way that no one else could. And for me, one day, she'd be the ruler. The queen, who was both my greatest strength and only weakness.✨️
You can not comprehend the extent of my happiness upon being sent an Advance Review Copy of this book. I was beyond excited to pursue the journey of Lonnie in all her adventures, and I was well served. What a fantastic third novel. How does the author manage to make me love a character in this book even though I detested him in book two? How are you able to play with my emotions like that?
Lonnie will do everything in her power to protect her mates ,even if it means going and finding a way to break the curse herself . While traveling, she meets an ally she didn't realize she would need and discovers that she is in greater danger than she had anticipated.
If you like fates mates, why choose, inconvenient attraction , One Bath ?!!!!... Strong minded FMC. You will definitely like this serie !. 💖😍 To ensure that this is a series for you, please read the caution before starting.
This book was extra but in all the wrong ways. Like I'm still vibing with it but 3 books in, this is absolutely the weakest of the books so far, odd that its better rated than the first two.
Also, Quill is the best birb, maybe that's what's wrong with this book, theres a severe lack of Quill in it.
This is book 3 in the series, and to be honest, I was about to give up . . . Let's just say I am glad I didn't. Many questions were answered in this book, and many more presented. The 3 main character, let's just say they will make ya blush. 😉
This book was over too quickly! (Aka I read it too fast). I love the character growth of Bael and Scion who have changed so much since book one and the growing relationship between them and Lonnie. With Ambrose now thrown into that mix I'm curious to see what's going to happen in the last book. Also that one bath scene?! Wow 🥵
This series continues to be one of my favorites in fantasy in that it doesn’t get worse as it goes along. I cannot WAIT for the final book in October to come out!
The only hang-up I have in this book in comparison to the last two is that it definitely has more spice, and some that seemed slightly forced, as in, “hmm this would be a good time to add some spice” vs carrying on with the forced proximities and flirting banter longer. Some of the language became a bit cruder too which I’m not a fan of at all.
Thankfully the plot still outweighs the spice and this series continues to be “a book with spice” vs “a spicy book”, but I think the overall plot was brought down slightly by the increase in spice content unfortunately.
We have a new contender for my favorite character in this harem. Who doesn’t love a villain? This book was action packed with so many twists and turns to keep me guessing. Lonnie really evolved as a strong female lead in this book and the chemistry between the characters was off the charts. I really enjoyed seeing Scion’s softer side. The ending has me so excited for the next installment of the series!
Freaking amazing as usual! I love it when a series just gets better and better and more addicting as it goes! This book got so exciting with the plot and Oh My God it got spicy!!! So spicy 🌶️🌶️🌶️. I loved this one, it might even be my favorite so far! HIGHLY recommend the series to anyone who loves reverse harem books and an amazing plot with their spice!
kinda sad because i really liked the previous books, but this one’s taking me forever </3 also, i’ve read that the last book is kind of a mess, so now i’m not sure if i wanna put myself through that,,
Loved this book! It’s very rare for an author to hit it out of the park a 3rd time but Dammn did she!
The main characters are all so different and yet, still all captivating each one their own! Normally I hate when the writer switches up the POV, but this actually helped character development move along.
I was SO excited when the bathtub scene came about! FINALLY they except the trope of the 3 of the being togeather. Excited to see where the Ambrose relationship goes, perhaps he’s the 4th? I believe that our girl Lonnie is some type of long lost descendant of a fae linage. And her powers are hopefully going to be bad ass.
Can’t tell who I like more- the grumpy prince of ravens 🐦⬛ or the ever electric and unhinged beail!
SO excited for book 4! Absolutely love this series!

I NEED ANSWERS!!! How many times have you read an enemies to lovers trope and as soon as they’re lovers it’s like driving off a cliff? The fall is exciting and the adrenaline is pumping, but as soon as you crash it’s dead. D. E. D. Dead. Well guess what bitches not this series!!! The tension lives ooooonnnnn! I imagine Kate King spinning around in her office chair and petting her evil cat while she stares at me as I’m reading. I see you, Kate.
Not as good as the previous unfortunately. I'm hoping the fourth book picks back up. There were a lot of quick solutions to the major plot lines that led me to feel let down. Felt like some of the plot was forgotten in lieu of smut (not to say it wasn't 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️) 3.5 stars and I'm hoping for more in the next book.
This was an incredible 3rd installment to the series. THERE ARE SO MANY LAYERS, and they just keep peeling. This series has some of the best 🌶️ I’ve ever read, it is not overly dramatic it’s sensual af and I the plot it sure does thicken!!!!!!
I'm glad we finally made it back around to certain plot points in the third book of wilde fae! Can I just say, Ambrose has entered the chat y'all 🥵 and Scion and Beal 🥵 😳 🔥 now I have to wait till October for book 4?! Ahhh 😭 I can't wait to learn more about the new dynamic with Ambrose joining the scene? What about Lonnies mom?! I swear if anyone in book 4 dies I'll riot 🤬 October can't get here soon enough

There’s nothing like quotes from a book that makes me kick my feet and giggle. This is the best one by far out of all in my opinion 🤌🏼🤌🏼 I can’t wait for October and the next to be released
Lonnie, the main character, has ZERO self preservation skills haha. Which usually annoys me.. BUT I still ended up loving this book along with the other first two! SO Sad I have to wait until October to read the 4th 🥲
First off, let me just say: I absolutely loved this book. This series is *chef's kiss*. That being said....I've never been so happy and frustrated that there's another book. Happy because I NEED more Lonnie, Bael, Scion, and Ambrose. Frustrated because I thought this was a trilogy and my torture for answers would be over. All that to say....I'm in no way disappointed that I get more of this foursome.
I started loving Ambrose in book 2. Not even going to deny that. The fact that he's Lonnie's third mate? Yes please!! Maybe that's why he can't see her? I feel like Bael can sense it and knows. Scion probably does, too, but he's too stubborn to see it (much like he was their bond in the first place). I love how fiercely protective they all are of each other. I need to know why Scion hates his brother so much and I cannot wait to find out what secrets mommy dearest has been keeping. Lonnie is definitely fae. How could she not be? And who's the 7000+ year old stranger?? What does he know? What is Ambrose waiting to tell her?
Can we fast forward to October so I can get my answers please? Kate, thank you for bringing these four into our lives and for that beautiful brain of yours.
Everyone else, if you've read this far it means you don't mind spoilers. Go read this book, and the other two if you haven't already (you're crazy if you haven't).

I love this book more and more as it progresses on. Slow burn and build up of rh members. Lonnie finally seal the deal with Scion and this book we get to explore her relationship with Ambrose 😊. Can’t wait for the final book.
I am absolutely feral for this series. I read a lot of RH, but got DAYUM if this book doesn’t have the literal best line I’ve EVER READ.
“You don’t know?” Bael interrupted, sounded almost mocking. “Then explain how I can’t even think about anyone else looking at you without being ready to murder them, but you’re naked right now, practically begging to be fucked, and the only thing bothering me is how we’re all going to fit in that tub.”
