I was definitely very interested in the suspense aspect and the missions/backstory. I felt as thought the romance wasn’t as strong as I would have preferred. I would have loved to see more between Natalie, Griffin, and Dallas as they navigated their relationship. It was still an enjoyable read, regardless of that! I do wish I would have read book 1 before this one. I didn’t feel lost, exactly, but would have liked to have had a better idea of what was going on at times! Overall, it was a good quick read!

The Decision Maker is the second book in a series, though I wouldn't have known before I started it if I hadn't read a couple of other reviews first. So, I recommend reading The Hotel Manager first if you haven't already.

Also, be aware that this is an MFM romance.

Natalie Grant has disappeared, and the question is, is she a traitor? Has she sold out her brother in favor of their mother?

Dallas and Griffin are both in love with Natalie, making the quest to find her that much more personal.

The story was entertaining, however it felt like we were just skimming the surface. The characters were the primary driving force. Natalie - strong, independent, and highly intelligent - makes some really stupid decisions. Dallas, the "mature" one of the group probably has the most growth. And then there's Griffin. He felt like the comic relief and a cuddly teddy bear all in one. You know he's bad-ass, but it's like that quality is muted in favor of his sweet side.

The Decision Maker is the 2nd book of the series, and I didn't read the first one, so I was a bit lost. The story jumps into a mystery about the disappearance of Natalie, and Dallas and Griffin are tasked with finding her.

The love triangle between Natalie, Griffin, and Dallas intrigued me about the story. I am always up for an MFM romance, but I feel this story could have developed more of a connection between the characters. I enjoyed the banter and a bit of the darker elements. Natalie is a strong FMC, and the male characters are also great. The spice was on point, especially with the why choose element. I think if I had read the first book, I would have enjoyed this one much more, so you definitely need to read the first book, The Hotel Manager.

This was great, can't really complain to be honest. I read it in one sitting, couldn't put it down.Loved both mmcs and the fmc.
This was a continuation of the Hotel manager, so you have to read that first.

Enjoyable read

The Decision Maker was a fast-paced, somewhat slow burn that was pretty interesting to read. It was a decent read for me but it held my attention enough to finish.

This is the second book in the series, and I do recommend reading them in order. Natalie is supposed to be confident in the decisions she makes but when it comes to Griffen and Dallas all she knows is that she wants them both. Fast-paced MFM read with loads of drama, suspense, and emotion. I loved it.

The Decision Maker is a full-length standalone novel with no cheating or cliffhanger and complete with a happily-ever-after. It's a continuation from The Hotel Manager with Mason as the mysterious hotel manager. A brilliantly written story with complex characters and a twisty storyline that captures your attention from start and keeps you hooked and turning the pages with it's non-stop twists and turns, non-stop suspense and thrills, adventure and mystery. Wickedly hot and addictive, once you start you won't want to put it down it down. It draws you in, keep you going and begging for more. A definite page turner. This is Natalie, Griffin, and Dallas story. This book has me in all in my feelings. The connection between these characters are off the charts!!
A romantic suspense story, forced proximity story, brother's best friends romance, off-limits story forbidden relationship, MFM, why choose relationships, love triangle reverse harem romance, relationship, age gap trope story, opposite attracts story, second chance romance, billionaire romance, political thriller story, vigilante justice thriller, contemporary romance, with dark secrets, lies, deception, manipulations, banter, humorous, espionage, death, friendship, tragedies, enemies, trauma, losses, passion, betrayal, distrust, danger, revenge, retaliation, survival, revelations, passion, lust, action, emotions, tension, love, intrigue, smut, drama, angst, anger, madness, and surprises.

The Decision Maker by C. Hallman, Natalie is a former CIA agent, this is a mission that puts her in an uncomfortable situation when in order to do what she has to do she must distance herself from her brother and her team. They do not understand what is happening and when his brother tasks Dallas with checking that they have not missed any clues to his whereabouts, Griffin does not plan to stay behind and do nothing, they are attracted to Natalie, which causes friction between them and they find themselves in constant competition. For Natalie, both men are unique and special in their own way and she feels highly attracted to both of them, which has her confused, and all in the middle of a tragic story where she must find her way to what her heart desires.
This story is full of action, danger, intrigue, with a touch of angst and many exciting and love-filled moments. Once you start reading it you will get lost in its pages and you will not want to leave there. Highly recommended!

Natalie is the decision maker at a covert CIA hotel run by her brother Mason. Her job is make decisions quickly and instinctively, under high pressure using what information she has to hand. She’s his right hand so when Natalie appears to betray him and runs, Mason sends two of his men, Dallas & Griffin, to track her down and return her to the hotel. Have her actions broken her relationship with her brother who admits he loves her but doesn’t know if he can trust her.

I’m really not sure about this book and if you haven’t already, I’d strongly advise reading Mason’s story before this one as a lot of Natalie’s behaviour and reactions are down to events that happened in The Hotel Manager. I loved the relationship that developed between Natalie, Dallas & Griffin, the dynamics and chemistry between them were well written with all three being hesitant for various reasons. Dallas worried about the age gap, he was 52 to Natalie’s 36 whileI got the impression Griffin was the youngest member of the triad. He definitely had a way and manner about him that made Dallas feel every one of those years but gradually a friendship developed between them which was almost brotherly in its tone with Griffin definitely the teasing younger brother in the equation. Where this book falls a bit for me is the suspense element which has left me a bit bewildered, and I can’t help but feel I’ve missed a couple of chapters that held a lot of the background story especially when a new villain seemingly appeared out of nowhere. Perhaps more of this plot thread will be revealed as this series progresses but here it just felt a bit half hearted and disappointing after the dramatic finale in the first book. For that reason, I’m only giving The Decision Maker 3.5 stars.

I love and hate when an author both tidies up a storyline but also leaves you a tease of what’s to come later in the series. C. Hallman did just that when she ended The Hotel Manager and I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next. Those answers come in The Decision Maker. This is the story of Natalie, Griffin, and Dallas – all members of the team that run The Hotel under Natalie’s brother Mason. We uncover the mystery about what happened to Natalie and Mason’s mother and dive into Natalie’s character arc which just so happens to include two studly men. This is a MFM, age gap romance with suspense elements with mild steam.

The Hotel, a shadow government group is largely run by Mason and Natalie, a brother and sister powerhouse. When Natalie goes missing, two team members go after her. Griffin and Natalie have had a friends with benefits relationship in the past and Dallas has been a bit of a mentor to both siblings. On the hunt for her, they discover that they both carry a torch for the woman that keeps people at arms length. Once they find Natalie and make their feelings known, she begins to wonder if she can have them both. However her motives for leaving could end what has barely begun and also tear apart what’s left of her family.

I really enjoyed Griffin and Dallas. They are decades apart in age, but also team members so their banter was delightful. Natalie on the other hand, I wish she had been a little bit more fleshed out. She is former CIA and in her late 30s, but sometimes her dialogue and actions didn’t seem to align well. I think I expected her to be a bit more calculated and take charge, but she was more impulsive and felt younger on page than she was supposed to be. The plot was engaging and intriguing and when the big reveal happened, it only left me wanting to know more. I wonder if there will be more to this series. Fingers crossed!

The Decision Maker is considered a standalone that is interconnected to The Hotel Manager. With that being said having read both I would suggest you read The Hotel Manager first because it will make this books dynamics come together better once you understand the relationships between the characters and why they are where they are now.
This storyline follows Natalie, Dallas and Griffin.
Natalie's an ex-CIA agent and younger sister of Mason who runs "The Hotel" a covert off the books agency of highly skilled ex military/agency members that take care of things the government doesn't want to or can't take care of. They even hide away criminals when needed. She is his "Decision Maker" in the company so when she disapears he doesn't know what to think. Dallas and Griffin are brothers who work for The Hotel and are sent by her brother to find her.
That's where things get interesting because they're Mason's best friends and are hiding they both have feeling for his sister. When they find her she won't explain why she took off just that she had her reasons.

It's an intense story of mystery, danger, suspense, revenge, secrets, lies, kidnappings and betrayals. All the while there's a slow burn romance between them that's building with each page turned. It was an entertaining read and I loved the brothers back and forth banter even if sometimes I wanted to shake them. Plus Natalie for being EX-CIA she made some questionable decisions along the way. She too needed a come to Jesus meeting. Overall it was worth the read.

This could be read on its own (as I did) but I would have engaged more if I had known it was part of a series before starting which isn't immediately obvious from the listing. Events from book one are referred to throughout and although I was still able to follow along I wasn't as invested in Mason and Natalie's relationship as I could have been had I had all the backstory but it didn't take away too much. It did however make me want to know more so I will go back and read it as I liked the premise of the hotel and the shadowy organisation element as well as the plot surrounding Natalie herself so I will pick up this series again.

However, although I enjoyed it the romance element fell a little flat for me; it was a quick read which is fine but I would have loved to spend more time with Griffin, Dallas and Natalie and their relationship rather than focussing more on Natalie's solo missions to balance it out. I really liked Griffin in particular but felt he barely had scenes on his own with Natalie compared to Dallas and it just felt a little rushed in general. I really loved the MMCs rivalry though and it was a missed opportunity for me that this wasn't leaned in to more as it was a real highlight.

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read

Fast paced story that is a continuation of “The Hotel”. I strongly suggest reading “The Hotel” before you read this as there is a lot that will not make sense. Natalie is Mason’s younger sister. She has taken off so Mason has Griffin and Dallas looking for her. Griffin and Natalie have had a “thing” between them, and he still has feelings for her. Dallas is a little older, but something about Natalie draws her to him and he will stop at nothing to find her.

Natalie is out looking for her mother and believes that she can talk some sense into her before her brother gets killed. Griffin and Dallas seem to be competing for Natalie’s attention, but will they be ok if she chooses both? Griffin is on board, but Dallas is a little tentative. Things heat up between the three and then Natalie runs off again – will she ruin her chances before it evens gets a chance to become something?

When the truth comes out about who is behind this mess, it will take everyone to get rid of the problem. But by then, will it be too late for Natalie, Griffin, and Dallas? I have to say, for Natalie to be ex-CIA, I think her decision making was little clouded. While she wanted to believe the best of her mother, she kept putting her life in danger as well as those of the members of the “Hotel”. She seems to be weaker than what you would expect from an agent.

Thoughts 💭💭

The Decision Maker is the continuation from The Hotel Manager, it picks up right where it left off with Mason sister, Natalie, on the run. It’s got out that their Mom is alive and is believed to be the reason for the chaos going on and Natalie has know for years. Mason upset and sends his two best men Griffin and Dallas to find her.

I really love anything C. Hallman writes. Her books and series never disappoint. This was a quick read. I love me a good MFM and if it has banter and a strong FMC with not just one but two cinnamon roll, I’m all for it. The romance build up was not really there but if you’re looking for a quick read that has age gap, brothers best friend, second chance, forced proximity, juicy spice and with HEA this is the book for you.

Even though to me this book is not as dark as C Hallman’s other books always check your trigger warnings!

“Just imagine each day you’re a new person. Imagine all the days before, a different version of you existed. And now pick one of those versions. Maybe the person you were yesterday or the one last week. Think about who you were. Imagine her in front of you. You know all her thoughts, all her hardships and all the decisions she made. Now, do you love that person? If you don’t, then find out why and fix it. That’s how you love yourself. You become a person today, that future you can love tomorrow.”

This book picks up where the last book, Hotel Manager, left off. Natalie, former CIA and big decision maker for the hotel, has disappeared. Her brother/boss Mason sets two of his best guy on her trail. Did she leave on her own or was she taken? When the guys catch up with her and realize what they're dealing with, they'll have to decide between loyalty to the job and their feelings for this complicated woman. They both have a history with her so how does she decide between the two, or does she even have to choose?
I like the continued drama and danger contained in this series and it was good to read about the characters in the first book. I especially liked Dallas in this book with his calm and steady presence, his competitive spirit, and his willingness to sacrifice himself for Natalie's happiness. And Griffin, even though he'd have to be a tough guy to be in that job, is such a goofball golden retriever character, the perfect compliment to Dallas'seriousness. And even though I thought Natalie was reckless and impulsive and constantly putting her guys in danger in this story, I really like her character in general.

I really like this series. This picks up a little after Hotel Manager ends, so you need to read that first. Natalie is missing so when her brother sends Dallas to find her, Griffin goes with him. They both want to find her safe and unharmed. If she left willingly, why? You can see the connection that Nat has with each of the men. While Griffey and Dallas give each other 💩, you can still see that they do have a friendship. This is an MFM (no swords cross) romance with one of the men having an age gap with the heroine. It is also forbidden, BF little sister and work place romance. This was so good that I was hooked and on the edge of my seat. What is Nat hiding and can she get the trust back that’s she’s lost, or is she helping the bad guys. Is she compromised like the text said? You’ll need to find out what is going on with Nat and will the men she care for be able to share her or will they want to? Action packed, drama, some angst, lies, secrets and twists that were jaw dropping. I can’t wait for the next book. I do hope Trent gets his book. That will be good since he is a lone wolf.

I didn't realize this was the second book in a series with The Hotel Manager(THM). As a result, this story picks up where I assume the last book left off with the FMC, Natalie Grant, missing. Her brother, Mason, aka The Hotel Manager, is barking orders at our MMC, Dallas and Griffin, to find her. "Traditionally", the first chapter includes details to refresh the memory of the reader on who and what the players (e.g. agents in a secret organization) are. I only learned Natalie was former CIA which means she meant to disappear. In that case, why did she leave a clue behind enabling the guys to track her down? At times, Natalie demonstrates resourcefulness from her former job, but at other times, she makes questionable choices that don't align with her training. As the "Decision Maker", I don't think I ever figured out what her role within the Hotel actually was. This book left me a bit frustrated because of its lack of character development which would have added more to the relationship among Natalie, Dallas and Griffin. Was that all shared in the first book? Even if it was, a flashback to her individual encounters with each of the guys would have added dimension to this story.

So if you've read the other reviews, then you already know that you should read the first book, The Hotel Manager before this one. It gives you just a little more insight on the characters and you aren't lost when you pick up this book like I was.
So if you like books with plot, story line and hardly no sex then this is the book for you. It's called a MFM but I was kinda disappointed that there wasn't a scene with all 3 of them(sorry for that spoiler). While this book is more about finding answers and keeping Natalie from bolting. This is where Dallas and Griffin come in. They are supposed to be watching her and keeping her safe. This is also where you see some of their interactions. She has a history with Griffin but not Dallas. This is also where I have issues. I must have missed where they fall in love cause I didn't even know they were at that point and then they all start confessing their love to each other. I actually like this book but there was just some things that seemed to just be rushed like the confession of love.

It’s best to read the Hotel Manager for context before reading Natalie’s story. She’s a former CIA operative and she’s on a mission that’s putting her in an uncomfortable situation. Trust, family, and teamwork only works when everyone is on board and she’s alienating her brother and her team. Dallas and Griffin have seen her at her best and her worst, there is a sexual attraction that causes friction between the guys, and Natalie is so attracted to both of them that it’s confusing.

C Hallman writes drama that’s intense, steamy, and powerful. These characters are strong, the story is tragic in its loss, and the bond between the 3 reveals itself as the action, danger, and intrigue peaks. I loved the interactions between her men, their personalities meshed, and their love for her overrode their doubts. The epilogue is really special!.

I walked into this one blind after reading the first in the series. I knew it would be about Natalie based on the first book, but whew buddy I was not prepared. First off, it’s a why choose novel, which while unexpected, was not a bad surprise. I did think that Natalie’s character made some decisions when she left that didn’t line up with her history, but 🤷🏼‍♀️ you definitely need to read the first book to follow this one, but it is a good spicy duet.

❤️ Tropes ❤️
💋 why choose
💋 brother’s best friends
💋 age gap
💋 grumpy/ sunshine MMCs

Natalie ran away from the safety of the hotel. Her mom may have made some bad choices, but she knows she can help her. Dallas and Griffin demand to be the ones to go search for her. Neither one wants to disclose why to each other, or to Mason. But the protectiveness they feel towards Natalie won’t let them sit back and not go after her.

After reading The Hotel Manager the first installment in this amazing series ( I thought to myself There Is No Way anything could beat this . Well I was wrong because the Decision maker which is the conclusion was absolute perfection. The type of story that has rhe ability to make you feel so many different emotions- everything from feeling speechless to screaming outta frustration to anticipation what will happen from one moment to the next , to smiling , crying and rooting so freaking hard . MFM , intrigue, romantic suspense, oh so steamy moments, heartbreaking and heartfelt , angst , drama , tragedy, secrets , love , passion, non stop action and Natalie , Dallas and Griffin 3 of the most complex, unique and wonderfully written characters your going to fall completely in love with . This was a really good book that I'd rate a 3.5, but rounded up to 4! I think it probably deserves the 4 anyway, because I didn't read The Hotel Manager and I think it was necessary. I really need to be invested in the characters and though I liked them, I wasn't all that invested since I didn't read The Hotel Manager. That's totally my fault and I wish I had before starting this one.

I did enjoy the relationship between Natalie, Dallas and Griffin. She was a strong character and could hold her own, but Dallas and Griffin were still protective of her. Her brother was protective too, but in the end, he only wanted her to be happy.

This was suspenseful, with some spice, and was a good read.

In this sequel I found myself engrossed in the complex web of emotions and loyalties surrounding Natalie Grant. Her disappearance ignites a thrilling chase led by Dallas and Griffin, both deeply in love with her, which adds a poignant personal touch to their mission. The character dynamics are the heart of this story, with Natalie's flawed yet formidable nature, Dallas's growth, and Griffin's endearing charm standing out. While the romance, particularly the MFM aspect, was compelling, the suspense element felt somewhat undercooked, leaving me craving a deeper dive into the plot's intricacies. Despite this, the intriguing relationships and character development kept me hooked, even though the story's suspenseful potential wasn't fully realized.

Natalie's story is so filled with action, intrigue, suspense, betrayal, and longing that when she faces the decision to choose between the two men in her life that are her fierce protectors and admirers ...Dallas the older quiet silently devoted grump and Griffin the young, playful, wisecracking, risk taking sunshine .... Why should she choose? Both of these battle weary veterans work for her and her brother at The Hotel adding another layer of drama and angst to this age gap romance. Sent first to find her and then understand her own betrayal, this duo will move heaven and earth to bring her home and protect her, no matter what. But will their passion finally catch? And when it does who will she choose or why should she? This was a wonder lot spicy and surprising romance!

★ “She was on her own and did not want to be found.” ★

For an experienced ex-CIA operative, Natalie sure is kept on a tight leash, though her actions seemed at times impulsive given her background and less mature than the character I envisioned. I understand their family history, certainly, but Mason is not one of my favorites in this book. Love and loyalty is seems to be on the same switch - to be turned on or off, by the way he acts towards her. I guess I will need to read The Hotel Manager first to see what I missed; must have been a lot of doozies going on. But I did enjoy the competitiveness and banter between Dallas and Griffin for Nat’s affections as well as the suspense in this story.

A story full of angst and suspense right from the start, that will have you on the edge throughout the whole book.

I do recommend to read the Hotel Manager first to get a bit of the background of this story and its developments, as this picks up right from the ending of the other book.

Natalie is on the run and Dallas and Griffin were tasked with finding her, there is a lot of secrets and deception going on but through that, the developing of their relationship is inevitable. The connection they share will only grow stronger to the point where they can’t ignore anymore.
Why choose one man when she feels complete with the both of them.

An intriguing story with a bit of spice that you can breeze through.

RATING: 4.5/5

“The Decision Maker” was a fast-paced MFM story. Author C. Hallman is a no-nonsense type of writer to me. There’s no fluff in between the story. She gets right into it, and it’s full speed ahead.

“The Hotel Manager” left off with a text message from an unknown number that read “Your Decision Maker Has Been Comprised,” in which Mason said it was Natalie who was the decision maker.

Much of the story has that who can we trust type of vibe with loads of spice. I also enjoyed the action, the characters, and Mason’s involvement in the previous book.

I received a copy of this book and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Wow! As always, C. Hallman amazed me with her writing! I read this book in one go. This novel is actually the continuation of The Hotel Manager, but you can try to read it as a standalone.

I loved the constant drama and suspense of this story. I really liked Natalie’s character. Dallas is a calm and serious person, and he will do everything and anything in his power to ensure Natalie’s happiness. Griffin is a complete opposite to Dallas. He’s such a goofball! Even though he’s job requires him to be a tough man, he’s actually a very sweet guy.

Overall, I loved this book so much! If you’re into MFM, why choose romantic suspense, then you’re going to like this novel as much as I did!

The Decision Maker picks up after the Hotel Manager ends. Natalie (former CIA and Decision Maker) is missing and her brother, Mason, sends Dallas (also CIA) and Griffin to find her. Mason doesn't trust Natalie and believes she betrayed him and wants to know why. You'll need to read The Hotel Manager first to understand why. This is a MFM romance filled with suspense, secrets, lies and dangerous twists and turns. Mason and Griffin each want to be in a relationship with Natalie and Natalie wants them both in her life. I loved Natalie's steamy, romantic journey with Dallas and Griffin. Enjoyable read.
