"I pick guys that I know are incapable of commitment. Over time, I became good at reading people. Or so I thought. Because every single guy ends up falling for me, and every time I had to break their hearts. Until him."
Macy is smart, beautiful, and driven, but she hasn't always been confident. Early on, she learned a secret about herself. Heartbreak fuels her fire. She finds herself self-sabotaging every relationship she gets into because the pain motivates her to work on herself and towards her next goal. With every new relationship, comes a new goal. They start off small and get bigger over time. Here's the kicker: she allows herself to fall effortlessly for a short period of time then breaks her own heart, pushing herself to achieve that next milestone. Until she finally has everything she's ever wanted and finds herself falling for the competition that could cost her that last goal.
Paxton Meyers, the handsome, educated and witty law student who she sees the potential for a future with. But she soon realizes that she's twenty-five with no idea how to be in a normal relationship.
Secrets are kept and lies begin to unfold during her journey to discover the truths about the man who she was ready to give up the game for.
I absolutely loved this book. All the feels were FELT. The emotions, drama, secrets, spice?? So so good!! I adored both Paxton and Macy and I loved their friendship turned relationship. Paxton was so persistent and beyond patient and I loved that he never gave up on Macy. I loved Macy’s growth on accepting love into her life and allowing Paxton and his family to love her the way that she deserves. There were so many moments that I felt so deeply connected to Macy’s character and saw so much of myself in her and felt emotional as hell while inside of her head. I definitely felt my jaw drop at a handful of moments and didn’t expect a few of the twists. This was a page turner for sure and it’s so easily bingeable! I was sweating towards the last 20% and I did feel it all happened a little too quickly and would’ve loved if the book had been longer and went deeper into a few things. I loved the epilogue and felt this was overall a really great debut from this author. I can’t wait to see what she writes in the future and where she takes this series.
There are a few topics that could potentially be triggering for some so check the TW’s at the beginning if you need to!
Thank you Ashley Dranguet and The Author Agency for this ARC!
This story is relatable, raw & 100% real. While reading, you’re going to go through ALL the emotions alongside Mace & Paxton. Ashley did an amazing job writing out this entire story, her debut novel was utter perfection in my eyes!
I relate to Macy heavily in so many different ways, I love the girl with my entire heart. Sweet sassy soul 🥹 I laughed so hard in certain parts of this book, it’s got a little bit of everything packed in it and I love that! 🥹
Although Macy struggles with mental health and emotional scars, Paxton was the most patient, sweet man. To see Macy overcome her struggles and let love in, was simply beautiful. We don’t have to deny ourselves love. We don’t need to wait to feel worthy. Everyone is deserving of happiness. And that’s exactly what this novel teaches you. Not only is this book filled with growth and love, Paxton Myers brought the spice baby. He spiced it so hard the panties caught fire. 🥵 I love him to pieces, he is the sweetest man ever full of love and understanding, but he has secrets too… doesn’t he? 👀 we love a mysterious man.
The twist and turns that will quite literally hit you like a train will keep you on the edge of your seat, up past your bed time & eager for more. I loved everything about this book, and I hold the characters close to my heart. they feel like apart of me now, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve read this book so many times to make graphics, and I’m truly just happy it exists. Read this book, you will not regret it!🥹💕💕
Ashley I am SO PROUD OF YOU!! I cannot believe this is your debut novel. You did such an amazing job with Macy & Paxton’s story. 🧡
I was nervous to read this based on the tropes but I truly loved every single second of their sweet story! It was such a beautiful & emotional friends to lovers story.

Knowing this author from bookstagram, I was so excited to get my hands on this read and it did not disappoint!! I loved it so much. I think it’s really reflective how complicated a relationship can be when there are trust issues going in. Abandonment issues and anything else really weigh on a person and really affect how they move forward in life. Macy and Paxton were a case of insta love, but they had a lot of issues to work out. First and foremost, Macy’s refusal to last longer than 6 months in a relationship. That way, there’s no risk of her getting too attached. Problem is Paxton is very lovable and just about perfect for her. Paxton has some secrets of his own though, specifically a former fiancée who is trouble. But but with all the obstacles, at the end of the day these two want to make it work, and I really enjoyed reading how they got there.
I've been wanting to read Ashley's debut for some time now and I'm so happy that I finally got to experience Ashley's writing, and oh, this book! What a journey this story was! I found this fascinating, emotional, and turbulent.
Macy and Paxton, who are studying in law school, are extremely successful in everything they touch. Over the course of months, they develop into really best friend's. As they compete as interns at the same law firm for the same life-changing position, they quickly realize they can't ignore their spark. As they transcend into something far more than the top position, their truths surface.
For me, Macy is such a multifaceted character. Although Macy is fun and incredibly focused she has also learned how to protect herself. We follow her as she strives to navigate from her upbringing and mental health, body image issues, and that day to day. As Macy experienced a healthy love, I found myself being so sensitive towards her and extremely protective; I truly adored her sauciness and her self-reliance.
Paxton is kind and loving. He's spent years not letting anyone in, until Macy, our boy, was in LOVE with Macy; he was ready to walk down the aisle. But his life is believed to be perfect—one that includes a loving and ambitious family and his own academic gratification. I loved learning about ALL of Paxton's facets.
Macy and Paxton—what a POWERFUL couple! They have marks on both of their hearts even before they met. Even in their friendship, they had this pull. They seemed to me like a real, authentic couple entering a true relationship. From their vast obstacles as they tested and unlocked each other's trust and hearts, they’re a couple that hasn't left me.
Ashley had me attempting to put all the pieces of this story together, which I loved because my mind went through it ALL. However, Macy's and Lauren's relationship hit very close to home, that I can't wait for Lauren and Dillion's story, especially to get inside Lauren's head.
ARC Review 3.5-4 stars⭐️ First of all, I just want to say, for this being the authors debut novel, I was very impressed! I was really interested in this story when I initially read the book description weeks ago. I was following and waiting patiently for this book to release and was so grateful to receive an ARC and couldn’t wait to start it!
From chapter 1, I was excited to learn more about Macy and Paxton and their stories. I wasn’t expecting how heavy the plot was going to be, but it definitely kept me invested. Individually, I really loved Paxton and Macy and was rooting for them in all the areas they were both trying to push past and grow in. Their friendship was adorable and the banter from the beginning was relatable for me and had me laughing out loud at times too. Their relationship was a slow burn at first and was full of angst throughout even though they were both harboring feelings. It had me frustrated at both of them at times, but when they finally admitted their feelings to each other and gave it a shot, I was fully invested and had a hard time putting this book down.
My favorite part of this story was the interactions with the two MC’s and their families. I loved it so much and it has me really hoping we get more books focused on the Meyers siblings and Lauren/Dillon.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it. I like to keep all of my reviews honest and share areas that weren’t my favorite. With this book, there were some parts of the plot I wished would have been more expanded on and explored, while other areas could have been shortened or omitted for the pacing and flow of the book. It was VERY trope heavy throughout, which on one hand is great because there was something for every romance reader, but on the other hand felt a little forced and unneeded at times. Regardless of those things though, it’s evident Ashley has a talent for writing and I know her future novels will continue to be better and better and I look forward to reading what she comes up with next!
Ashley, your debut novel was BEAUTIFUL. The raw emotion, chemistry, passion, plot twists, and everything in between was so well done. I was not ready for some of those twists and turns you put in there girl😆😅

Tropes: - he falls first - tattooed, bad*ss FMC - “good girl”🤭 - plot twists - HEA
When you read Worth the Hurt, you can’t help but tell that Ashley poured her heart and soul into these two characters. You know it because you can feel every ounce of their love, friendship, trauma, and fear. This debut novel will have you swooning over the MMC, laughing at the snarky banter, aching from the angst, and hanging by the edge of your seat to figure out the truth behind the characters’ pasts.
Paxton and Macy are friends and colleagues, each at the top of their class in law school and vying for the same spot at an elite firm. But while Paxton wants more from their relationship, Macy sees the way things are as a means to fuel her to work harder and win the position, and because of her past, she has a deep rooted fear of commitment. Paxton slowly and painstakingly has to show her that their relationship is worth it - that they are worth the hurt. But Paxton has his own baggage, a mystery that slowly unravels with answers you won’t get until the very end.
Paxton and Macy’s siblings make for the perfect side characters, and I absolutely cannot wait for them to each get their own stories! This series is going to be a great one.

You ever read a book and can relate to a character on a lot of levels? That's me while reading this book. Macy, the FMC, I can relate to in a lot of ways. She is guarded with her heart, and she has gone through a lot in her life. Paxton, the MMC, has also gone through a lot in his life.
The two are in law school together and share an internship. They start off as friends, but their chemistry is too strong to deny. Macy's banter was entertaining, and Paxton eventually wears Macy down to give him a chance.
Reading her struggles with herself and her view on relationships and why she doesn't attach herself to a man for more than six months, the way it was written you can really feel her inner turmoil.
I went into this book blindly and to say it's a hit for me is an understatement! Also, I'm blown away that this is the author's first book because she absolutely knocked it out of the park. Make sure to take note of emotional and other potential triggers before reading though. I really do recommend reading this book!

MY GIRL KILLED THIS!!! Ashley, I AM IN LOVE! I was super invested in Paxton & Macy’s story. They both have traumatic pasts and they way that they both end up needing each other was beautiful. I AM SPEECHLESS. This was amazing. One of my top reads of 2023.
Paxton & Macy are both students at the University of Chicago Law School and are interns at the same firm. They start off as friends and it quickly turns into more. They are both struggling with their past and seeing help. Will they be able to move past their trauma?
I have never related to characters before but Macy, I related so hard. They way she fights her mental health and seeing how strong she is. BEAUTIFUL. Paxton.. Mr. Meyers. That mouth on him. Oh my. I think he is one of my favorite MMCs ever. He has had some struggles in the past and is trying to overcome them. I loved how he was with Macy and wanted to do anything he could to show her how much he wanted her. He showed her that she is beautiful inside and out. We all deserve a man like that. I fell in love with him so early on.
But those twists and turns in here. I did not see those coming. WOW. I ate this up. I cant wait for you all to meet Paxton & Macy when this releases on Nov 30th!!
Worth the Hurt by Ashley Dranguet is a harrowing tale of two people who are broken and dealing with their own separate issues, coming together to realize they both deserve to be loved. Macy Callahan, an ambitious law student, striving to be the best in her class to earn the coveted position at the best law firm in Chicago. Paxton Meyers, a gentle soul, who comes from a prominent family of doctors and surgeons. He strives to be the best in order to make his parents proud and prove to them that choosing a law profession was right for him. He and Macy are facing off against each other for the coveted junior partner position at the law firm where they are both currently interns. When Paxton breaks down all of Macy's walls, will she truly accept the love she deserves or will she push him away, breaking both of them in the process.
Once I started reading this book, I could not put it down. I believe every woman can connect with Macy on the feeling of not being good enough in your own skin. Macy built walls so high no one had been able to break them down. She lived by the hard and fast rule that no relationship would last longer than six months. It hurt my soul that the reason behind this was because she felt she didn’t deserve to be loved. Enter Paxton Meyers, her equally ambitious law student classmate. Paxton breaks down her walls and gets her to commit to him. He was so patient and loving with Macy, even when she pushed him away by saying mean and hurtful things to him. It was good to see Macy learn that she could receive love and deserved everything this life had to offer. While outwardly showing Macy how special she was to him, inside he feared loving someone again after his traumatic previous relationship. It took courage and many therapy sessions for Paxton to get to this point, but that doesn’t mean his previous trauma did not put doubts in his head.
In conclusion, I would highly recommend this book as I believe every woman can see a part of Macy in themselves. I gave the book 5 stars because of the connection I formed with the characters in the book. I felt like these could have been my family members or friends in my own life. This book had the perfect amount of smut and spice. Paxton had a mouth on him and could use it in the dirtiest ways. It is also worth mentioning Paxton's mother, brother and sister who were great supporting characters. The writing really reflected how bonded they were as a family and how much they each supported Paxton. It was great to see Macy’s sister Lauren and her fiance Dillon in the book as well. I think it was good to see how much Lauren supported Macy and though Dillon didn’t really know Macy that well, by association to Lauren that would become his sister and he would look out for her no matter what.

First of all - do your self a favor and add this to your good reads and preorder on Amazon.
Paxton is the perfect book boyfriend. Attentive, sweet, affectionate and filthy in the bedroom. Just the way we like them. 🤭
Macy is feisty and sassy and I love that she speaks her mind.
The way Ashley described scenes, characters, etc made you able to literally picture everything perfectly in your mind.
There are a few twists and turns but the one towards the end had my jaw dropping. I wouldn’t classify this book as a full suspenseful romance but there’s definitely a slight level of suspense.
Also, chapter 45. 🔥🫠
Ugh I cannot even handle how much I loved this and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
10 stars. Obsessed. Hooked from the first chapter.
I had no recollection of what this book was about when the ARC popped up but I was not expecting to be drug through the emotional cheese grater over and over like I was. This book is a beautiful catastrophe of emotion, wavering from the highest highs to lowest lows.
I was SO excited after reading a couple chapters to find out that Paxton was the Hero and mannnnnn he didn't disappoint. We know I love a total sap for her, pining since forever kind of guy. Paxton delivered my friends- tenfold.
I kept thinking I would figure out the little twist as I read on and every theory I had was wrong. I had so many and I loved how the story moved and caught me off guard a time or two, which I totally did not expect. These characters were so relatable and I could see so much of myself in Macy- issues and all. Ashley tackled some darker topics (read the TWs for sure) with such grace and brought a beautiful perspective to a group of people who are often misunderstood.
Overall, this book was so well written, entertaining and addictive to read. I am in awe that its a debut novel and I look forward to following Ashley Dranguet as she continues to write and entertain!
Thank you to Ashley Dranguet and The Author Agency for the ARC of this book!
Macy and Paxton go to law school together and had a “friends only” relationship. Both secretly have feelings for each other but never acted on them.
Macy doesn’t want a long term relationship and has a 6 month rule. Paxton is persistent on breaking down her walls and loving her.
I seriously couldn’t put this book down! It was a page turner and I absolutely fell in love with Macy and Paxton! It had me going through all the feels! Seriously SO SO GOOD!
There are topics that could definitely be a trigger so I would read the TW first.

WORTH THE HURT - @author.ashleydranguet 5⭐️/5⭐️ Thanks so much for the ARC🫶🏻♥️
I am still so emotional over this book my god.. this book had me sobbing so much due to the pain and hurt of both Macy and Paxton😭
I felt as if Macy was so easy to relate to with her struggles and throughout this book I felt her pain, worries and how much her mind would spiral. I just wanted to constantly hug her(even though she would not appreciate that😂)
PAXTON🫶🏻♥️ my baby🫶🏻 this man. This. MAN. Throughout his own struggles he was still waiting for Macy to open up to him and was by her side. His POV was by far one of my favourites. Just being able to read what he thinks and feels about Macy was just perfect. My heart hurt for him a lot. Scared to open up himself in case Macy would run in the opposite direction, my poor poor boy😭
This book was heartbreaking, emotional and so so so beautiful. The journey Macy and Paxton go on to get to where they end is perfectly written and you can see how much these characters mean to Ashley🫶🏻 love love LOVE😭♥️
Hold on tight, because Worth the Hurt by Ashley Dranguet is a wild ride of emotions!
Macy, the protagonist, is not just smart, beautiful, and driven; she’s a complex character who is fighting her own demons. Early on, Macy learned that heartbreak fuels her fire and motivates her to work on herself and towards her goals. In every relationship, she self-sabotages, allowing herself to fall effortlessly for a short period, only to break her own heart and push herself toward the next milestone. This pattern continues until she finally achieving everything she’s ever wanted.
Enter Paxton Meyers, the handsome and witty law student who challenges Macy’s carefully crafted game. As she finds herself falling for Paxton, she realizes that, at 25, she has no idea how to be in a normal relationship.
The narrative expertly explores Macy’s journey of self-realization, weaving together passion, heartache, and redemption. Ashley’s writing skillfully captures the intensity of Macy’s emotions and the complexities of her relationships.
The spicy scenes are tastefully integrated into the plot, adding an extra layer of depth. The story is not just about romance, but it’s a testament to enduring love and the hurdles one must overcome to find true happiness.
Note: Readers, be sure to check out the trigger warnings in the book before diving in.
Overall, Worth the Hurt is a compelling romance novel that delivers on its promise of an emotional rollercoaster. I’d rate it a solid 4.5 ⭐️.
I cannot believe this is Ashley’s debut novel! Congrats!
This book was not what I expected. There were so any twists I didn’t see coming.
This book touched on mental health and trauma and I felt for Macy and her struggles. Insecurities I could definitely relate to. And Paxton. Man he was a sweetheart. I loved that Paxton helped Macy through her struggles while dealing with his own.
I loved the relationship Macy had with her sister and Paxton had with his siblings and I’m hoping their books will be coming!
Macy only dates for 6 months. After that she ends things. It’s helped her succeed as she uses the breakup for fuel her drive to make goals she’s set for herself. Her latest goal is to make junior partner and pass the bar as she finishes law school. Paxton is at the same law school and firm while trying for the same position as Macy. Yet he hasn’t let that stop him from forming a friendship with Macy. Until it becomes more than non-dates for both of them. Can Paxton get past the secrets of his past? Can Macy pursue something longer than 6 months? Will they both help the other heal?
How is this a debut story! It was so good. It drew me in and didn’t really let go until the very end. The intrigue/secrets of this story made me continue saying “just one more chapter”. Yes, both characters seemed to vacillate between ending things or sharing their secrets which would normally be annoying to me. But instead it showed us why they had trouble letting go of parts of their pasts.
I’m still not sure how I feel about Macy’s past coming out. I wish we could have seen the conversation play out on paper between her and Paxton. But then I think maybe it didn’t need to be on page since Paxton loves her no matter what and accepted it as part of who she is and supported her moving forward.
I’m really hoping we get Paxton’s siblings’ stories in the future.
“Macy Brooke Callahan. I’ve told you before, and I’ll tell you a million more times if you let me. I am so fucking in love with you. When you came into my life, I was not expecting you. I wasn’t even looking for you, but somehow you came to me when I needed you most. "
I've read this book over a few days' time.. I didn’t want to leave Macy and Paxton. They were sweet, adorable, and spicy as hell together! 🤭🧡
Before they fell in love with each other, they were friends and competitors for a position in the law firm they both interned for.
Paxton Meyers was the perfect boyfriend. He goes to therapy to work on his problems and wants nothing but the best for Macy. He wants her to be happy, loved, and understood. I LOVED him! Seriously. This man.. His mouth, the dirty words that came out of him, ooff. 🥵
And Macy? I relate with her story, feeling like you're not enough and feeling like the whole world is on your shoulders.. I had a much happier youth and no mental problems like her, but still.. I feel it all.. I just wished i could give her a cuddle and tell her that she IS beautiful and enough for the world and that Paxton loves her for who she is..
This book was the perfect first book of a new series that will be an auto-buy/pre-order for me!
Congrats on your debut novel Ashley!! I was super invested in Paxton and Macys story. They both have traumatic pasts and have their reasons for not wanting a romantic relationship. But they start out as friends who quickly realize they both want one another. It was beautiful to see how the both let down their walls and were vulnerable with each other. And dang, Mr. Meyers and his mouth? 🥵 phew.
"I was doing just fine before you, and I sure as he'll didn't expect you to walk into my life, and wreck my plans of solitude. But you did, and I can't change that; I don't want to. I just want you."
👏 ASHLEY 👏 DRANGUET 👏
Like, I'm sorry ... what?! That's your first debut novel? I am obsessed.
First of all, Ashley is an absolutely amazing human being. She was one of the first people to welcome me on insta when I started. I absolutely love her vibe and her content .. so when I heard she was coming out with a novel, I knew I had to be on her ARC team. When I found out I got it, I literally jumped for joy.
"Maybe I'll get some rest now you've stopped ravaging my body." I kissed him deeply. "Oh, there will be plenty more of that later, don't worry."
This book will give you all the feels...
🤣😏😥🥵😍
I'm telling you .. all of them.
I loved the therapy and mental health representation throughout, and the growth development from both characters was phenomenal. There were tons of times I wanted to reach into the book and give Macy's head a shake, but then I would never have enjoyed seeing her come through it all at the end.
There are definitely some scenes that will live rent-free in my mind for a long time. IYKYK.
"And let me just say, she is definitely a sore winner. She threw money in the air like she was at a strip club and taunted me for being the first to lose all my earnings. Yet somehow, I'm oddly turned on by her behavior."
You get: • He falls first • Friends to lovers • Mental health representation • Trauma • Therapy • Who did this to you? • Good girl • Coworkers
This is available today ... and you needed it yesterday! So what are you waiting for? Go snatch it up!! 😏
this book hit so close to home & will forever hold a special place in my heart🫶

worth the hurt is about Macy and Paxton who are both studying at law school in Chicago. They are close friends who hang out often and go on "non-dates" as Macy calls them.
Macy is a beautiful redhead that is incredibly smart and driven. But behind the scenes, Macy struggles with confidence. She tends to self-sabotage her relationships because it fuels her to do better in other aspects of her life.
Paxton is a witty, educated and of course, extremely attractive law student. What people don't see, is that Paxton struggles to cope with his past relationship.
These two are both actively seeking treatment to better themselves and their lives. While they start to truly build their own relationship, they're interning at a top law firm in the city, going to therapy, and coping with their feelings.
I truly loved Macy. I saw so much of myself in her character. To know the struggle with mental health and the struggle with other disorders, I felt connected and understanding of her and what she was going through. It felt like I was walking through the story of my life. You'll easily fall in love with Macy. Paxton is also just as loveable. A man that goes to therapy? Amazing. He wants to do and be better. There's even some twists and turns I didn't see coming! This story was truly everything I could've wanted when talking about mental health. Ashley's writing was accurate, caring, and most of all, important. Mental health should never take a back seat. You deserve to feel the love you give to others. ❤️🔥

*please note the list of trigger warnings at the beginning of the story as there are subjects that may be upsetting*
The minute this ARC landed in my kindle I sat down to open it, and then just didn't get back up again until I was done.🤣 I'm talking full on blocking out the entire world and devouring this while in some kind of trance. The fact that this is Ashley's debut novel just blows my mind. This was such a great hurt/comfort book with some fantastic twists and reading it was like a breath of fresh air.
Macy and Paxton have been friends and colleagues for months, but it's obvious there is an attraction between them. Paxton wants more, but both he and Macy have emotional trauma that's holding them back. When they finally give into their feelings, Macy has to decide if love if worth fighting for despite her demons. Let me start with my girl Macy, I loved her, she was hard to read sometimes because of how hard I related to her, how much I've been her, but I was just so so invested in her journey. And Paxton, A+++ boyfriend material for sure. I loved how he pursued Macy, how he didn't give up and just how much he cared for her.
I also liked that neither of these characters were perfect, they were real and flawed and had to work to get past their trauma. The mental health rep in this was something I needed to read and was handled so well.
Ashley did a great job balancing plot, spice and taking me on an emotional journey! This book resonates in my soul, so I highly recommend this! Especially if you love friends to lovers, workplace romance, and trauma recovery with some top notch spice!
I got an ARC copy of this book to write an honest review. This book isn't an easy read all the time. Don't get me wrong it's a wonderful book. But Paxton and Macy have a heavy past and lots of anxieties. Macy with her eating disorder and bulimia since she was a child. And Paxton with his ex-fiance who wanted to kill him. And if you think that would be all, you are wrong. There is still so much more 😱 So many secrets... And twists... But this book is so good. Paxton is such a golden retriever 😍 He and Macy met each other at law school. And they both get an internship at one of the best law firms in Chicago. Even though they are rivals, they are friends. And have a lot of non-dates 🙈 Because of all their problems, they both don't want any relationships. But soon Paxton feels more for Macy and falls really hard for her. He is sooooo cute. I can't say how cute. I loved Paxton's mom. She is such a heartwarming person. And has no prejudices. His whole family is wonderful. Except for one person... I could say so much more about this book, but I don't want to spoil it. Now I have to wait for the next book because I saw what all the other books are about and I need to know how Preston finds his love and also Paxton (Paxton's older brother and younger sister). Yes, the Meyers' like the letter P 🤣
This is a debut book, yes debut, I was having trouble to accept that due to the fact that it’s written so perfectly. Every word depicted the story and the scene with the right words that had me hooked and I couldnt put it down.🤍
Paxton and Macy are friends who are working hard for a position in a law firm as a Junior Intern and there is only one vacancy. As they get to know each other, they start having feelings for one another but afraid to commit. Their story has highlighted the significance of being there for someone with mental issues, not bottling up your feelings, never giving up and doing all those things that you’ve ve always wanted to do.
Paxton, he has my ❤️, he was ready to endure his pain for the sake of his girl. He was strong to fight his demons and always did the smallest things with his whole heart 🥹
Macy, she is indeed a person who you always want to surround yourself with, she raised her sister and her savage replies and her relationship with her sister is so good. Although I understand that she was not ready to fully commit but I wanted her to because Paxton was so genuinely in for her. Later she did give in, because who can resist Paxton? Not me 🤭
I can’t wait to read the rest of the books when they come out !!! Before you read this book, check the trigger warnings.

✨ARC Review ✨ Worth the Hurt by Ashley Dranguet (358 pages)
Parts I Liked: The MCs' challenges felt so raw. Their experiences are meaningful. It got really angsty, and I love angst. Well-written characters. MCs and side characters.
Parts That Were Not For Me: Things were a bit one-sided in my perspective, for more than half of the book. The main conflict was dragged a bit too much for me. The smut did not land with me because of the disconnect.
✨Overall Thoughts and Ratings✨ ⭐⭐⭐.50 My main issue was how much the conflict was dragged. It was not miscommunication, it was withholding. It felt like stuff was withheld to prolong the book. The set up was that they'd focus on their growth and their relationship, but that did not happen because so much was kept secret, and that's what threw me off. There was a lot of avoiding the issue at hand when both characters were capable of sharing their concerns. Don't give up though! We get some great closure.
🌶️🌶️🌶️: It was spicy. Paxton is so sexy and cute at the same time! But it was done a bit too much for me. I guess I wanted them to talk first then get to doing the devil's tango as much as they did. Again, personal opinions!
This was a great read. Emotional with a little bit of humor! Release date is November 30th! Thank you to the author and @theauthor.agency for this ARC 🧡
