Prayer: The Lovely Letters Book 1

Rate this book
Avalon is a vampire on a mission. For a long time now, he has been plagued with the feeling that something terrible is coming. He is frustrated, having nothing more than a vague feeling of impending doom to go on but believing he should do something to prevent it. Avalon feels the hope of all his people lies in a myth or legend told in the supernatural community about a group of women who used to stand between the supernatural races and the human race. Insisting that all myths stem from some truth, he sets out to find descendants of those women. After extensive research through libraries, archives, and ancient artwork, he and his brothers believe they have finally located a descendant. He sets out immediately to find her. He never expected he would find... Prayer Walker. A beautiful platinum blonde-haired, brown-eyed woman who spends her work week working as a receptionist at a day spa. Her one true love is her book club, The Lovely Letters, and their mutual love of paranormal, fantasy, and sci-fi romance novels. There are a few things that Prayer believes in. Never be rude. Lavender makes everything better, and supernatural beings only exist in fiction. Although Prayer cannot figure out why, she is driven to understand the man who calls himself a vampire, even though she met him in the light of day, drinking coffee and refusing to bite her because blood tastes bad. Obviously, he hasn't read enough about vampires. Prayer decides to discover the truth behind Avalon and his motives, but winds up finding far more than she could have ever expected.

I am so intrigued by this new series, no matter how long it will be. Prayer and Avalon are amazing and pull you into the world of the supernatural. It's not my normal read, but I plan on not missing a beat.
Rea puts you right in the room with every involved situation that happens. Like it or not, you're in. I'm hooked. Now you get hooked too. Next?

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to dive into the next! Prayer and Avalon have such a fun loving connection from the beginning as Avalon tells Prayer she’s never been human and is part of the paranormal world. Prayer rolls with the punches that are thrown her way all while trying to learn about her heritage. This book does has a cliff hanger but don’t let that stop you from reading this one!

A Unique PNR - which is Truly Unique

‘I giggle when he gets out of bed because he sounds so pitiful. I am just bubbling over with the most insane happiness. It’s like I’ve been building a puzzle for years and it’s been so frustrating because I haven’t had all the pieces. I feel like some are still missing but I’ve finally hot all my edges.’

Prayer lives a simple, quiet, introspective life…until she is swept up in a world that she never dreamed was actually real! WAIT! Scratch that! She did actually dream of romance, with aliens and otherworldly beings, but to come face to face with an actual paranormal creature? Nope -never expected that! Especially one as handsome and strong and irresistible as Avalon.

Avalon, a vampire prince almost older than time itself finds himself struggling with a feeling that change is brewing and he must help protect not only the vampire’s but all those creatures hidden from human eyes. So he begins searching for a mythological group of woman that he believes may help change the course of a probable war between humans and those paranormals living beside them without their knowledge.

When this pair’s emotions ignite, there is a powerful sense of each puzzle piece finding its perfect placement!

Magical times are ahead for Rea Marie’s ‘P’, book one in The Lovely Letters series!

Following the Myths . . .

Rye Linden arranges for her best friend Dara Palmer, new to town, to make the cake for her stepson’s wedding. With a bit too much to drink, Dara and a handsome stranger decide to have a one-night-stand, then he disappears on a 2-month business trip. They had not exchanged names, so contact is not possible.

Continuing to help Dara out, Rye provides a place for her to stay which happens to be next door to her mystery man, Keifer Hawthorn. He immediately upon his return home thinks she is stalking him. So he pulls crazy childish stunts that annoy her. She has discovered she is pregnant from their night together, but she chooses not to tell him -- until he finds out when one of the childish stunts, rigging a huge wire spider to drop down in her face, causes her to faint and puts her in the hospital. Will he discover he was wrong about her? Will the two of them start to realize how they really feel about each other? Is he ready to become the daddy to his twins?

The dual narrators for the audiobook version, Melissa Connell and Scott R. Smith, bring the “reading” experience alive for the listener. They do a good job with the voices to personalize the story and make it easy for the listener to get an accurate and more realistic impression of what each character is like. It helps to set the mood, familiarize the reader with the characters, and offers a pleasant way to “read” and enjoy the book.

This book is amazing. The mmc is a hot vampire, and the story starts with him explaining to readers what its like to be a vampire, expelling the myths. He needs to find the descendants of some ancient beings/women that had influence over other supernaturals. In order to prevent a catastrophic war between humans and supernaturals.

Prayer Walker is a woman who has no idea of the power she holds, her abilities or where she came from. Only that for some unknown reason she implicitly trusts Avalon. Their relationship blossoms very quickly. I enjoyed reading the story from both Prayers and Avalons point of view. The romance and intimate scenes that build up are just enough, to give you the feeling of their bond. Its not heavy on sex scenes. And the action really heats up towards the end as parts of the story come together.

The book is well written, flows nicely and it's so easy to read. If you haven't read this book yet and you need a palate cleanser or something different. Please try this book. I am looking forward to reading book 2 .

Loved this book. A lot of internal dialog, which took me a bit to adapt to as I am unaccustomed to it. The story line is smooth and flows nicely. The plot hook at the end is making me buy book two, so be prepared to be lured in by that. The characters definitely have their own personalities! Avalon and Prayers interactions are great, along with the others in the book. Overall, It was a smooth read and I really enjoyed it. Next up. book two. ( PS ! Topless in Nebraska! )

3.5 Stars - Avalon is on a mission to locate the descendants of a special group of women to help with the impending doom that he is sensing will come. With the help of ancient artifacts, he was able to locate Prayer and they start their adventure together to help save the supernatural. It was a bit wordy and repetitive. The plot and characters were ok.
