Geoff Johns originally hails from Detroit, Michigan. He attended Michigan State University, where he earned a degree in Media Arts and Film. He moved to Los Angeles in the late 1990s in search of work within the film industry. Through perseverance, Geoff ended up as the assistant to Richard Donner, working on Conspiracy Theory and Lethal Weapon 4. During that time, he also began his comics career writing Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E. and JSA (co-written with David S. Goyer) for DC Comics. He worked with Richard Donner for four years, leaving the company to pursue writing full-time.
His first comics assignments led to a critically acclaimed five-year run on the The Flash. Since then, he has quickly become one of the most popular and prolific comics writers today, working on such titles including a highly successful re-imagining of Green Lantern, Action Comics (co-written with Richard Donner), Teen Titans, Justice Society of America, Infinite Crisis and the experimental breakout hit series 52 for DC with Grant Morrison, Greg Rucka and Mark Waid. Geoff received the Wizard Fan Award for Breakout Talent of 2002 and Writer of the Year for 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 as well as the CBG Writer of the Year 2003 thru 2005, 2007 and CBG Best Comic Book Series for JSA 2001 thru 2005. Geoff also developed BLADE: THE SERIES with David S. Goyer, as well as penned the acclaimed “Legion” episode of SMALLVILLE. He also served as staff writer for the fourth season of ROBOT CHICKEN.
Geoff recently became a New York Times Bestselling author with the graphic novel Superman: Brainiac with art by Gary Frank.
i like the idea its brilliant actually but the introduction of the dc universe heroes and villains in this issue is really poor. and not suitable at all for new comers without researching and googling to know who is talking now. and ofc i am speaking of the alliance that cyborg tried to form.
This was a bit confusing during the whole meeting to fight Aquaman and Wonder Woman. I wasn't sure who many of those characters were. The twist at the end was really nice and got me more excited. The art was great!

So, everyone and their mother (specifically, Fritz) has recommended this run to me. I have seen the television show that incorporates this storyline. This first issue was a lot different than I expected it to be as Batman is a central character and Cyborg is here as well.
I get that Barry is perplexed by what is going on. Everything is different in this timeline, so nothing is making sense.
Also, Aquaman and Wonder Woman are trying to expand their empires. Okay . . .
Batman is attempting to fight injustice. Batman isn't who we think he is. I can handle that, I suppose.
This was recommended to me by a certain coworker. Where I work we got in many different comics and I bought two: one with Batman and the other with Nightwing. We only sell issue #1s, but that’s okay. It’s a bit of a teaser.
This is what this issue was: a teaser. I might just buy a book with all the issues in it. And hey! it still has Batman in it!
*Suffice to say I don’t have this exact edition, but it’s the closest I can get because mine has no ISBN and it should count!
There’s some great world building in this issue and I love the veil of mystery that’s thrown over the whole thing while hinting at the bigger story. Plus the art is fantastic for the most part, at least for the main characters
As a guy like me that only know about the famous characters of DC and not so much about villains and some superheroes, it wasn’t so interesting. And the other reason is I watched the animation first, so it wasn’t shocking to me the revealing of the flashpoint Batman or Shazam.
