He’s larger than life. Always the center of attention. I’m the opposite. I hate to have everyone’s eyes on me. He lives his life in public, and I like to live behind the scenes. I had never been on his radar one single day in his very loud life, and then I was…
What is it about Sabrina Cabot that throws me off my game?
This uptight senator’s daughter is the exact opposite of the type of woman I’m typically attracted to… and maybe that’s a good thing. She makes me want to be a better man. To get more serious about life. To slow down. To give more. But will she be willing to give me her heart?
5 ‘Linebacker+Princess’ Stars⭐ More Than A Game Is a Breathtaking Opposites-Attract, Frenemies-to-Lovers, Sports Romance With a Plot that hooked me up from the start. Unlike Others who call him by his last name!)
Aiden Murphy; Funny, Life-Of-Party, Deep; is The Team Linebacker & a great cook. He was a goof in previous book but we see a new side of him here. The Sweet, Thoughtful, Responsible & Emotional one. Sabrina; Shy, Kingmaker, Smart, Sensible; is the Senator's daughter (So much has been happening in her life). She & Murphy are mutual Friends with Mutual Crushes which bring out the worst in them😂. Fun!

Apart from Her Insecurities at 1st (Due to her Hell of mom *Huff*) which were quickly resolved...Once they're together, They're STRONG. Nothing comes in b/w them; they face it all, together. ~The Loss (I'm Crying *Sniff*), Gossip Relief, New pet, Guys talk & Life goes on, Middle Linebacker, The Memorial, Game day, Parent talks & Exploits, M+S Feelings strong... I'm glad though even after their HEA is secured, The story doesn't end. We get to see how perfectly they mesh together.
“Still a game, huh?” “Princess, you’ll always be my most worthy opponent. My most hard-won game. My greatest win.” And that Epilogue? IT IS THE BEST!!! Like, The Best, Best. I loved seeing what they're all upto in a few years!! *Swoon* #Marriage #Babies #Happy
___Couple Talks___ This book, along with providing the full story of Sabrina & Murphy, gave Some other Couples their time to shine too. Which I've mentioned above! An older couple which was a fun surprise (to me & Murphy!) & thier love is HEA. Plus, Nat's Bro with her friend/Boss, which was...ahh...also a surprise. & That epilogue has made me even more excited for Dec's (& Anna?) Book! And can't forget about Bash, wtf is happening with him? I loved these friends so much, So cute to see Nat+Brady 😍. **ARC Received for a Honest Review.** FB Page | Instagram | Bookbub | FB group
"I haven’t read the first book in this series but I can definitely say that this book reads as a stand-alone. Having said that though I must admit right at the very beginning I was a little confused in who was who so I imagine book one clarifies all this. Sure it took me a chapter or two to work it all out but I still felt I didn’t miss any major plot holes without reading the first book. This was a great book to read. It starts off with a shocking first chapter and the story just kept punching on from there. There was an absolutely hilarious and at the same time cringe worthy part where Aiden goes to his mothers house - I think I was just as shocked as if it had happened to me as well!! Then there is Sabrina. She was such a joy to read. She was hands down my favorite character in this story. I enjoyed this book so much I am certainly going to read book one as well. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book"
Bella Matthews took off running, pulled off some spin moves, and scored a thrilling 'touchdown' with More Than A Game.
More Than A Game is an opposites attract / friends to lovers / sports romance story that will pull at your heart strings and have you devouring this story from the first to the very last word in one sitting. Star football player Aiden Murphy is larger than life. He's popular, he's a playboy, he's always the life of the party, and for these reasons he has always made the smart, quiet and sweet senator's daughter Sabrina Cabot nervous. Murphy has started to wonder if life has to be more than a game. And after a few encounters with Sabrina not only does he discover she is the most selfless, smart, caring, and beautiful woman he has met, he starts to realise that maybe just maybe Sabrina is his End Game. Individually and together I adored both Murphy and Sabrina. Not only can Murphy be the big spoon to my little spoon but Sabrina can totally be my sister from another Mister any day. Their journey to a HEA took me on a emotional rollercoaster about first love, loss, resilience, family, friendships, and protecting and fighting for those you love. I laughed, I cried, I felt frustrated and angry, I swooned, but mostly I found myself smiling with a truly happy heart as I devoured this beautifully written story about first and soul deep forever love.
Bella Matthews has created a wonderful and addictive YA world with The Kings of Kroydon Hills. I can't wait for more!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed this sports / political romance. It took me a minute to get into Sabrina and Aiden's story but when I did I loved it. Book two in The Kings of Kroydon Hills Series the books feature standalone characters and can be read individually.
Sabrina prefers to be out of the spotlight unless it has to do with her father's political career whilst Aiden is used to being the popular guy on the football team. Whist discovering themselves the pair navigate what it means to be in a relationship. The pair have known each other for years but as feelings change they find themselves working through what they mean to each other.
This is Murphy’s book, if you have not read book #1 All In, its ok you can read this one as a standalone but I HIGHLY recommend reading All In to get a feel for all the characters while they are still in their last years of highshool, there is where we meet our main Guy for this book.
In All In we get a feel for our ginger heartthrob Aiden Murphy. We understand he is a carefree, playboy heartthrob. Possibly voted biggest flirt or maybe class clown his Senior year. (If American high schools still do that sort of thing). We also get glimpses of our girl too, Sabrina!
In More Than A Game we are now taken to their college years, the whole gang appears and we get to know our leading character more, Murphy and Sabrina.
I knew Murphy was special but I did not know HOW special and how easily he was going to steal my heart. We learn why he is the way he is and we also learn there is more to the surface than meets the eye when it comes to him. The same with Sabrina, we know she is just another part of the girls but here we get to really know her and her characteristics. She is a total bad ass. She will totally make you get a girl crush!
They are the perfect match! They both navigate being in a relationship for the first time and learn what it feels to be committed and in love together. They fight for their relationship and stand their ground, with all the little hiccups that are thrown their way.
If you love college sports romance, read it!
If you love swoony, melt your heart romance with no cheating HEA, give it a shot!
If you loved Murphy in All In, brace yourself, I can assure you that you will be a goner for that Ginger Boy after this!!
“Be careful with my heart Murphy”
“Ill guard it with my life princess”
Once again Bella Matthews has created a perfect sports romance with some amazing characters, 5 stars hands down!
Ok. I’ve been trying to figure out the right words for DAYS for how I feel about More Than A Game!
HOLY FUDGE! Aiden Murphy is perfection in a big, hard footballers body! He’s so sweet, he’s so lost sometimes, he is so DEDICATED to the things he wants!
Sabrina! Girl after my own heart! She definitely has taken Nattie’s place in my soul! She is officially my favorite Kroydon Hills lady, for now! She really has come into herself in this book! Her perfect persona is slowly chipped and she’s so much more than she puts out!
Murphy and Brina together? This is the kind of love that lasts for ages! The kind everyone strives for and most rarely get it!
I felt all the feels! I never thought in a million years that Murphy could take Brady’s spot in my head but damn, he stole it and isn’t budging! More Than A Game just goes to show that authors are masterminds!
I’m so excited to see where Bella Mathews is going in her writing career! So glad I stumbled upon All In and took the dive into the Kings of Kroydon Hills! I would never forgive myself if I missed out on my ginger giant Aiden Murphy! He’s my favorite and I’m allowed to say that! Lol
So dive in and enjoy! Can be read as a stand-alone!
I don't know how to classify this book, friends who are snippy to lovers or enemies to lovers, however you want to look at it, gives you all the love and feels. This book follows Murphy, the fun-loving, always good for a laugh, love 'em and leave 'em bad boy, as he falls in love with Brina, the straight-laced, everything scheduled, political family good girl. And she falls in love with him right back, since she's loved him since childhood.
This book touches on a hard topic, facing our own mortality, especially at such a young age and handles it beautifully. Loss is hard at all ages and grief is strange and hits people differently.
Bella delivers an emotionally charged love story for the ages!
As much as I love Murphy he’s my baby I can’t help but have a huge girl crush on Sabrina that babe right there is willing to burn the world to the ground for her man just as he would for her. We meet both of these two in book #1 All In, now you don’t necessarily need to have read All In to read More Than a Game but I would HIGHLY recommend it because you get a better understanding of the groups dynamics and a bit of their back stories and how they all became family.
I fell in love with Murphy in Book 1 he has this amazing larger than life personality that commands the room when he walks in, he’s is gorgeous and sex on a stick, he’s the biggest flirt and he acts as if he doesn’t have a care in the world. But in More Than a Game we get to find out why Murphy is like that and you actually get to see that in-fact there are so many more layers then what’s on the surface.
Sabrina the absolutely stunning Beauty who is also book worm who never wants to be in the spot light and thrives behind the scenes. Her and Murphy. Oils not be more different and yet completely perfect for one another. His wild and crazy to her calm and soothing. They are two halves to a whole. These two have been around each other forever but have never really gotten along.
The whole gang is back for Bella Matthews second novel in The Kings of Kroydon Hills Series and let me tell you there are so many more laughs (aka the group texts) had me busting up. You will be all in your feels with this one. Bella has such a way with words where you feel everything her characters feel and although she writes such strong heroes her heroines are just as strong and can hold their own. More Than A Game is an absolute MUST READ!!!
Wow! More Than A Game is my first Bella Matthews book, and I was totally blown away!!! I loved everything about this book.
Oh, Aiden Murphy! I'm usually not a fan of reformed playboys, but Murphy is so much more. He's definitely very worthy of top book boyfriend status. Even with their regular sparring sessions, Murphy knew Sabrina was the total package. He views her smarts as part of what makes her hot. I loved how he supported and protected Sabrina.
I love smart, strong, independent women, and Sabrina more than fits that bill. She's a sarcastic overachiever who is poised to be a political kingmaker. She's been half in love with Murphy for six years, but she made sure that he would treat her right when they got together.
Murphy and Sabrina are yin and yang. He helps her loosen up; she makes him more serious.
Murphy and Sabrina have a village supporting them. Since I didn't read All In first, I didn't know about this great group of friends that are a family. Note, you can read More Than A Game as a standalone. However, you will probably find yourself like me racing to read All In because you love this amazing crew so much. They made me laugh and warmed my heart with how they were there for each other. I want all of their stories!
Fans of college romances will love More Than A Game!
I received an early copy of this book. This voluntary review reflects my honest, unbiased opinion.
4 Star reviews of More Than A Game (The Kings of Kroydon Hills Series #2) by Bella Matthews
Bella Matthews is a new author to me and how I have not come across her books before I have no idea. This is Aiden Murphy and Sabrina Cabot’s story and I was hooked on their story from the first chapter. I did not have any trouble reading this as a stand alone but do feel that I might have enjoyed this one even more if I had read All In, the first book in the series first and when time permits I will check out Ms. Matthews other books. I really liked Murphy and Sabrina together. He is totally swoon worthy and I liked how feisty and sassy Sabrina was. College romance is not a genre I read a lot of, but I found More Than A Game to be well written and entertaining. Murphy and Sabrina are a couple who are united, totally in love and determined to forge a future together and I loved their commitment to one another and to their relationship. There is so much more to Murphy that you initially expect. The text messaging had me laughing out loud on occasion. This is a great group of friends who I could easily see myself hanging out with. This book gave me many of the feels I would expect from a romance book.
Murphy and Sabrina’s story is full of laugh out loud moments, fun banter, hotter than hot scenes, and so much more! I loved reading this book, book 2 in the kings of Kroydon hills series. If you’ve read book 1 you’ve met Murphy and Sabrina in Nattie and Brady’s story. Murphy was this giant funny ginger and complete lady’s man while Sabrina was the senator’s daughter with a full schedule but still loved her friends.
Murphy is a king of football and his new campus. He’s loud funny commanding and sexy yet he’s also thoughtful and sweet. Sabrina is a good girl and on track to graduate early. She’s smart beautiful and a great listener but can have trouble making new friends.
Murphy and Sabrina have known each other since first grade but never were more than friends. Murphy is larger than life and having fun while Sabrina has her life planned out and organized to a T. Murphy is a player who has girl drama but can’t seem to stop thinking about one girl in particular. Sabrina is busy with school and her family’s political career but can’t think straight when Murphy is around. When Murphy and Sabrina realize they can have fun together without there being any drama or political motives, their chemistry is off the charts. Not only that but they really help to balance each other out, they’re perfect for one another. The care and love they show one another is so sweet you’ll have a tooth ache. Sabrina needs to know how to have fun and let her hair down more frequently while Murphy needs to know life is more than a game.
The crew from the first book, All In, are all here in this book and it was nice seeing Nattie and a Brady again as well as more characters and hopefully they’ll have their own books soon! I loved the texting and email scenes each group had. The texts and emails had me cracking up, this crew is hilarious and each character helps to make up the story.
You’ll definitely want to read this sports romance book, Sabrina and Murphy are so perfect together, I love them. Speaking of sports, the football scenes including games training and coach speeches were amazing! I loved reading them I felt like I was watching the football game and getting pumped up through the coach speeches. I loved how descriptive and energetic those scenes were, they gave me a rush. This is a guaranteed HEA and I loved every minute!
4.5 Stars for More Than A Game (The King of Kroydon Hills Series #2) This book can certainly be read as a stand-alone but I’m sure once you meet Murphy and Sabrina you will want more and I’m sure you will be one clicking In All ( book 1). This is Aiden Murphy and Sabrina Cabot’s story and I was drawn in from the first chapter, their journey captivated me and there was no putting down until I had read the final line. This is a story about a couple destined to be together, he is a swoon worthy football player and she is a sassy senators daughter and yes on the face of it they shouldn’t be compatible but love will always find a way and this couple are certainly committed to each other. This book has all the feels, I laughed, I swooned, I cried and I got angry. I fell hard and fast for Murphy and Sabrina is the girl we would all love as a friend especially when we need someone covering our back. Their journey is about learning to love and navigating your first real relationship, it has its ups and downs, twists and turns but I was happy to join the ride. Looking forward to what’s next from The Kings of Kroydon Hills.
This is book 2 in the Kings of Kroydon Hills series. I Love this series! This is one of those series that you think about even after you are done reading the book. I loved Being back with this tight group of friends. They had me laughing out loud and tearing up in this book. This was definitely an emotional read. Sabrina comes from a family of Politicians so she is expected to act and carry herself a certain way. Aidan “Murphy” is a college freshman football player who loves his friends like family. These two normally fight like cats and dogs but one night that changed it was like a switch how fast the hate went to attraction and hot chemistry. This group of friends never fail me, between the banter, the family drama and the emotional connection they share every book is so layered with amazing characters and exciting stories. The second I finished this book I was already looking forward to the next book in the series. I can’t Wait to read about every single characters journey to find their person! This author can’t write this series fast enough for me.
More than a Game is the 2nd book by new author Bella Matthews and with how well written this book was you could never tell.
I fell in love with Bella's writing after her debut book All In and let me tell you....this book did not disappoint!
Murphey came out of the gate swinging. He is the playful funny football player. Doesn't take life to seriously. He has his friends, his family, and his football. What more can a guy want?
In walks our home girl Sabrina. She is the good senator’s daughter. Takes life way too seriously at times and always does what she should.
Murphey and Sabrina are total opposites. The couldn't have less in common. They have know each other a long time. They've gone to school together since they were kids. They shouldn't work but I was rooting for them this whole book!
Murphy surprised the hell out of me. He will totally win you over and you will be swoon. Sabrina we didn't get alot out of her from All In but she will blow your mind!.
More than a Game was more then I thought. I said it before and ill keep saying it....i don't read many books where I love every character. But this is one series I don't have favorites ...I honeslty love them all!
Bella turns up the feels in her second book of the KOKH series. Murphy's playfulness and Sabrina's seriousness are the perfect combinations for these two to find a way to bring out the best in each other.
More Than A Game does a wonderful job of reminding the reader that what we think we know, we don't. All In only scratched the surface of who Murphy and Sabrina are, and this book gives us the full picture. As with the first book, the whole gang is back, and this book wouldn't be half as good without all of the character interactions. Nat, Chloe, Annabelle, Tommy, Cooper, Brady, and Bash are all back along with getting to know Nat and Cooper's older brother.
This book will have you swooning, laughing out loud, and some tears. Bella is setting herself up for a long future in writing with this series, and I'm excited to see how far she goes
Wow this debut author just gets better and better.
Her second book in the series (which can work as either a standalone or part of the series) is equally as addictive.
Stroll in Murphy who takes centre stage in this new installment...and boy what a stage he has...the first page drags you into his book and does not let you go...
Sabrina is the beautiful perhaps little nerdy girl next door thats always been around and always been at odds with Murphy. However, things change when they both end up at the same college, learn a little more about each other and are constantly thrown into the same place by their joint friends.
Yep you got it...Brady, Bash, Cooper, Nat, Chloe, Annabelle and Tommy are back to support the couple as they try to find out who they are, what on earth is going on in their world's and whether they can overcome so many obstacles... including themselves in some instances.
A Gorgeous, emotional, deep, easy read which keeps you intrigued from page one to the last one ...welcome back to Kroyden hills, curl up and switch off for a while...
Love Murphy and Sabrina!!! Murphy and Sabrina are perfect together! They are such opposites that compliment each other! Sabrina has always had a ‘crush’ on Aiden Murphy, but it takes this typical man to open his eyes! Sabrina comes from a political family, one who doesn’t think a football star is good enough for. The love and passion these two share is so much stronger than anything her family can say. Bella writes such amazing couples but the supporting characters are so important to her stories as well! This group of friends is a family, especially when Murphy’s mom falls in love with big daddy Sinclair! Just ask Murphy as his eyes are scared forever!! I absolutely loved this book and am amazed this is only Bella’s 2nd book!!! She’s got an amazing future with this crew!
Second book storyline surrounded by Kings football team was better than the first -- the gang is all back together again and I really liked Murphy and Sabrina in the main slot this time around. There's sweet and there is total hotness between these two -- off-the-charts and over the top with graphic sexual escapades once again. There's also a sad event that seemed unnecessary but was there nonetheless.
Two more books in this series, so I guess I'm continuing on to see what happens next with these wild and crazy college freshmen.
Being the senator’s daughter has meant Sabrina ‘Brina’ Cabot has had to play the dutiful daughter most of her life. To the outside world she seems uptight, though she is anything but. A sweet, smart, kind nice and good girl is who she is, but when her childhood crush Murphy finally steps into her life/world. He brings out another side to her, one she didn’t know she had.
Aidan 'Murph' James Murphy is the comedic ginger giant jock amongst his football playing team mates and best friends. Also the biggest ladies man with his player ways. However after a life changing scare, Sabrina comes back into his life again making him feel things he has never felt before. Could this be it? Could she be the one to change his player ways?
There was just something about Brina and Murph’s relationship that was fun to read. The realistic-ness when it came to seeing the slow and sublet pace growth to Brina and Murph relationship, made it that much more real. Especially since she isn’t the type of girl that he usually goes after, considering the way Brina has been raised and how Murph usually is when it comes to girls. Which we see with her scepticism when it comes to moving forward with Murph and their relationship.
It was definitely cute to see Murph finally find someone he truly cared and fall head over heels. The way he was always wanting to see her, be around her and spend as much time together as they could. It truly showed a big change in him as a person, proving that it’s never too late to change. And that there was more to him than his appearance and how he carries himself on the outside. Plus the way Murph is there every step along the way for Brina, regardless of her life and family. And how he helped her step out of her shell and become the strong woman she truly is. Further proving that they were truly meant to be together.
Their chemistry was beautiful but also damn explosive! Especially considering the type of girl Brina is and appears to be on the outside, I did not expect that boldness from her. Props to her for showing not only herself, but also Murph there’s more to her than meets the eye. And if she wants something she will go after it. Which is proven time and time again when her and Murph come together in the bedroom and the shower with their loving and lustful acts of passion.
More Than a Gamehad it all, the drama, suspense and surprises too. One thing I didn’t expect was how Bella Matthews went about with ripping your heart out and stomping all over it with the biggest heartbreak in a big explosive and painful way! Honestly it was a slap in the face, so unexpected and shocking to say the least! It just came out of nowhere, which was why I wasn’t ready or prepared for it at all.
My only issue was there seem to be a build up to a drama that I thought would lead to an explosion. However that never really came and so it felt like a let down, being lead on to believe something is going to happen, only for it to be nothing like a dud firework. Plus the ending felt a little too rushed too at the same time, considering how it all came together so quickly in my honest opinion.
Other than that, this book was a great story. I liked that we were able to get an epilogue for Murph and Brina, unlike withAll In.However, with that said, Nattie and Brady are still my favourite. #SorryNotSorry I definitely recommend readingMore Than a Game!Especially if you have already read the first bookAll IninThe Kings of Kroydon Hillsseries!
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
From the moment I started this series, I was immersed in the world of The Kings of Kroydon Hills. Brady and Natalie got their HEA in All In and it was now time for our favorite ginger to get his. Aiden Murphy is loud, outspoken, larger than life, funny, witty, unapologetically sexy, loyal to a fault, kind, sweet, witty, an amazing friend, a great cook, a talented football player, and with a heart of gold much bigger than his chest. Sabrina Cabot is quiet, private, intelligent, beautiful, determined, laser focused, understated, sexy without knowing, past soccer player, and best friend to Chloe (Brady's younger sister). Underneath that seemingly "I follow the rules all the time personality" lies the heart of a lioness; a fierce woman who's not afraid to defend who and what she wants. So what happens when life tilts on its axis and Murphy and Sabrina's paths converge in a way they never saw coming??? What happens when the larger-than-life promiscuous ginger, starts seeing the Senator's daughter with new eyes??? I tell you what happens: A ride I was not and you will not be ready for!
Murphy and Sabrina's story was so much more than I could have ever imagined. Bella Matthews wrote an incredibly beautiful, up and down rollercoaster of emotions, through all the feels, magnificent path for these two characters. The depth and the way she constructed their every day situations, gave way to two people who grew, matured, evolved, and figured out who they were as new adults coming of age. She made me laugh, cry (like ugly cry), get mad, think, swoon, identify with the characters, and need a fan with all the sexyness. Murphy and Sabrina burn with so much passion, desire, and love...believe me, it will make you want and need a red head man in your life 😉!
I simply loved everything about them and I know you will love them too! How can you not: "The slow smile I'm rewarded with hits me harder than any play on the field ever has. I want to be the man who keeps that smile there. I want to be worthy of this beautiful woman who's slowly changing my definition of winning." Bella's stories JUST KEEP getting better and I cannot wait to see where this world takes us next. Believe me, you will NOT be disappointed!
More than a Game by Bella Matthews is part of The Kings of Kroydon Hills series and is a sports/college romance stroy. While it can be read as a standalone, you may want to read book one All In, as that is where we are first introduced to these two main characters. It will also give you a better understanding of the group dynamic and some of the other characters mentioned in this book. This story is about Sabrina 'Brina' and Aiden 'Murph.' These two have known each other and have been part of the same friend group for many years. They have that love/hate relationship where shade, snark and banter is their main form of communication. Sabrina and Murphy are complete opposites and come from completely different worlds. Sabrina is from a family of politicians, meaning she's been bred to carry herself in a certain way and takes things way too seriously. While Murphy was raised by his single mom and is the fun-loving football player who just likes to have a good time. Lately, Murphy has been feeling as though something is missing from his life and like a light-bulb that has just been switched on, one day he starts seeing Sabrina in a new light. Sabrina has always crushed on Murphy but never pursued the matter knowing how much of a flirt and player he is. But when he makes his move, will she give in knowing what his reputation is like? I loved these two together, how he teaches her that it's ok to let loose sometimes and she shows him to to be more serious. These two balance each other out well, but with her political aspirations and his upcoming football career, will they be able to have a relationship and make it work? I thought the story was great and absolutely adored Murphy. He is perfectly swoon-worthy. I also enjoyed the closeness of their friend group with their letters, friend and family group chats. I can't wait to hear more about all the other characters in this series.
This is my first read from Bella and It definitely won't be my last. More Than a Game had me in my feels in all the best ways!!.
College Romance is either a hit or miss for me depending on the dramatics and the characters but this just blew my mind.
Murphy is just a swoon worthy hero. He's confident and cocksure with humour and the sex appeal to match. He's a player but he isn't dishonest in what he wanted. He didn't expect to fall for the uptight good girl.
Sabrina appears to be the good girl and does as she's asked daughter to her senator father. Under all the pretty perfect is just the sweetest, smart beauty ever. She didn't expect to fall for the player.. she definitely didn't think he'd fall for her back.
These two are cute AF. They've got that first love, everything's new and unsure but they can't help themselves vibe that I loved. Their relationship took a slow burning pace which fit them as characters. Especially given they are polar opposites and never used to be in the same room without bickering and sass filled clap backs getting thrown around. It was sweet to watch them grow both individually as well as together. They really did learn to lean on one another in the best ways and bring out something special in each other. Oh and the chemistry.... Lady!!!. They are fire. It's like his confidence brings out the tiger Sabrina hides under her sweet good girl nature.
This story is like I said, all things sweet and fun. But there is also so many unexpected twists and turns along the way I didn't expect. Bella gave us a well rounded multidimensional story that hit all the feels with depthy characters with so much personality it really was a pleasure to read. I'm excited to see what comes next that's for sure.

Bella Matthews debut novel All In was one of the best books I have read in a while so I had very high hopes about More Than A Game and she blew me out of the water. This book took you through so many different emotions and kept you wanting more throughout the whole book! 🔹 When we first met Murphy in All In he was definitely the character of the group and always kept the air light around the group. So when he gets the shock of his life from a girl he doesn't know what he is going to do but he does know that this is going to change his future. 🔹 Sabrina was one of the side characters in All In that I was hoping we would find more about. Sabrina lives a life in the spotlight being a Senator's daughter but also tries to live as normal life as possible. Throughout this whole book it was shown countless times how strong of a woman she is. Whether it was standing up to the next president to be aka her dad or going against her mother for what is best for her. 🔹 When Murphy and Sabrina are in the same space together it really brings out the crazy in both of them. When they finally come to the realization that they have feelings for each other things are going crazy in their lives. You don't want to miss everything that they have to go through to stay together. They will have to lean on each other through some very difficult times and it really shows just how perfect they are for each other.
Bella Matthews does not hit a sophomore slump with More Than A Game. Sabrina and Murphy are perfect for each other. The book opens, and you think you know where it is going to go, but it doesn't at all. I love the direction that Matthews takes us with these characters. Brina is a senator's daughter and is expected to act in a certain way, and to a point she does. But at the same time, she isn't a pushover. She is a strong, independent, extremely intelligent woman who knows what and who she wants. Her parents were truly terrible people by the end of this book, and I found myself having even more respect for her in those moments. Murphy is a guy who isn't quite ready to grow up, but when things happen in the first 8 words of the book, he truly decides to make a change in his life. He takes a look at the things and the poeple around him, and recoginzes who Sabrina has been to him this whole time. They were adorable together, and I loved how they protected each other. Not because they needed it, but because they consciously make those choices. They mutally respect and protect one another. There are a lot of feels in this book, and can't wait to see where the rest of the Kings of Kroydon take us.
Murphy, Murphy, Murphy.....where have you been all my life!
More Than A Game is the second book in the Kings of Kroydon Hills series. But never fear, if you haven’t read All In, you can read this as a stand-alone (it just means you can’t swoon over Brady yet). Get ready to meet the Kings of Kroydon Hills- Murphy, Brady and Sebastian.
Aiden Murphy is the joker of his group, always brightening the mood and down for a laugh. He’s the light to Sebastians dark, and the linebacker to Brady’s QB. He plays hard, parties hard and sometimes can have a one track mind - like most college guys. But when you peel back the layers, Murphy is the sweetest, kindest guy ever who protects the ones he loves.
Sabrina is by far one of my most favourite characters I’ve read in awhile. She’s the yin to Murphy’s yang in so many ways. When we meet her at the beginning of the book, she is quiet, unassuming, a little of a control freak and just a tad uptight as the Senators daughter. But, with her friends, she’s sassy, strong, independent, funny and a lioness when people try to hurt her loved ones.
Murphy stole my heart a little in All In with his personality, and this book sealed the deal for me - though I did develop a very strong love for Sabrina! I’d love to have a friend like her any day!
Can Murphy and Sabrina make a relationship work with the pressures of college life? Can a self-proclaimed manwhore become a committed man? Can Sabrina step away from the rules and regulations of her parents (including the cold-hearted Mother)? Can they become more than just the game?
Bella Matthews has hit it out of the park again with More Than A Game, it gives everything you want from a romance novel. A strong female who doesn’t give in, a swoon-worthy (sometimes possessive) alpha, comedy relief and just a hint of drama! I cannot wait to read Annabelle’s story in June.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions. This is my honest review.
Bella Matthews is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine! This world she has created is fantastic, and the characters are wonderful! Sabrina and Murphy are amazing and I loved seeing them finally allowing them the chance to connect and get to know each other on the level they have been dreaming about.
I love that both characters know exactly what they want to do with their life and that they are working their tails off to make it happen. Sabrina is so crazy organized and detailed, it makes me happy because I am the same :) I'm really glad she stood up to her mother and father after they went too far trying to organize her life - it made me extremely happy and I may have even cheered out loud, haha! And Murphy is the jokester of the bunch, but I love how the reader gets to see the serious side to him and how much he loves the people around him.
All of the side characters are great, and I am really excited to see how everyone falls in love in the upcoming books! Because I can guarantee that I am going to be reading Bella Matthews next books - I'm hooked!
Murphy is hit with some heavy stuff right off the bat that has him reevaluating his life. One of the things that he notices is Sabrina Cabot, the girl he has known and been friends with since they were 5. Murphy is the life of the party, the first one to crack a joke and doesn't take anything but football and his Kings seriously. Sabrina is the exact opposite. With a senator for a father her whole life is planned and structured and the wants nothing to do with the being the center of attention. But she has had a crush on Murphy for years so when he starts to notice her she is shocked but not enough to run away from him . . . well for long.
I adored this book. Murphy was such a funny, fun loving, protective and supportive book boyfriend. I loved him so much. Sabrina is such a powerhouse of dedication and drive, everything she does she puts 110% into - especially when it comes to Murphy. These two were such a perfect balance of opposites - they leveled each other out perfectly. I couldn't get enough of them. I was really disappointed when their story ended. But that epilogue was amazing! And don't even get me started on the secondary characters. I need Bash and Annabelle and Declan and Cooper . . . all of them. I need their stories. But Tommy is the show stopper. I love that kid.
