This super short but spicy and satisfying shifter romance features Mariel, a witch who's been stripped of her powers, and Blane, a sexy lycan who rescues Mariel from a watery death after a close encounter with a brown bear. While implementing lifesaving measures on Mariel, Blane immediately recognizes her as his fated mate. As they spend time together in the intimate confines of his remote cabin, Mariel is drawn to Blane, but after a bad end to her first marriage, she's reluctant to trust her instincts where he’s concerned.
This was a fun, short story with a little bit of magic and the supernatural to add to the spice. While I most enjoy their Disney reimaginings, this was a decent foray into the shifter romance genre for Astrid Vail.
I was fortunate to receive an advance reader copy from the author and I'm pleased to share my honest review.

Love this short little werewolf novella!! Love that we get to see our faves from book 1 at the end of this one! Also love that each book is giving us a new wolf and witch to obsess over. Definitely a spicy one that needs to be read!
