Dragons, lush world building, and a badass main lead, what more could you ask for? This was a great sequel to 'Zanthia'!
Five star must read!

This was an entertaining read!

This could be read as a standalone. I hadn't realised before I started reading that this was actually a sequel set 500 years after the events in 'Zanthia' and I found myself thinking:"Oh, I'm curious to know what happened when Kyra's parents were young and how they met."
Turns out, that story is already here!

That being said, the author has created an interesting world. There's strong female characters, friends that become family and enemies that redeem themselves. I look forward to exploring the world of Terah further.

Fast-paced, filled with tension, and deftly plotted, Kyra: Through the Veil by Nicklous Adams II is a fantasy tale for readers who enjoy well-sculpted characters and character-driven narratives. While the author ensures the characters are well-grounded, he doesn't fail in creating a setting that is vividly drawn and immersive—from the physical elements to the cultural traits of the people and the political dynamics. It is in this world, just before the celebration of the fifth commemoration of fallen soldiers, that Kyra learns that his father, who is supposed to have been dead five hundred years, is alive and stuck in a dangerous realm. Her journey to save her father is suspenseful and characterized by dangerous moments. I enjoyed everything in this fantasy, from the beautiful prose to the exciting narrative voice, from the well-developed characters to the relentless conflict.

A captivating epic fantasy

Nicklous Adams II’s Kyra: Through the Veil is an epic fantasy that exceeded my expectations. First is the writing, crisp and gorgeous, and the author writes with an unusual economy of words. Then there is characterization, which is superbly accomplished. I love to read about characters who are torn inside, absorbed in psychological battles, and the heroine of this tale was far more than that. She has lost her father, and after hundreds of years, she suddenly learns her father is alive and in danger. And then she does what any human being will do, and the consequences can be devastating. The world-building is another spectacular feat; a magical world that brims with conflict. Overall, this one was satisfying. Utterly.

fantastic read

I really enjoyed this story! I loved the world building and the steady pace. It kept me turning the page and once I was done, it left me wanting to read more in this world.
It’s an epic journey that follows Kyra and we get to watch her grow from being naive and rash into a person that had seen some things and realized how sheltered she truly was.
Definitely give this book a try!
