Magnificent characters line the pages of this suspenseful, thrilling, intriguing steamy romantic happily ever after book.
Wonderfully well written book about a wild thief and the mafia don who tried to control her after stealing from him and a guest in his own home and how by the end they fall hard for each other.
They two come together because of her stealing from him and the guest even though deep down it really isn’t because of the stealing that he wants her close to him, he just wants her even though he doesn’t know why. The two are attracted to one another.
The thief also took other items such as a rare book, cufflinks, wallets, and also a car even though she left where it could be found without it being harmed. When the don’s men found her, he didn’t know what he was going to do with her. But then he finds out about the wallet of the guest and that something in the wallet has valuable information in it so he decides to keep her and use her for her unique skills. He makes up a contract making her his fiancé so that no one that is with the mafia can touch her, so she will be safe.
The don takes her to a restaurant but she’s kidnapped when she goes to the restroom, the don saves her. When they get back to his house he cleans and bandages her wounds that she got from the kidnapping, she sleeps with him not wanting to be alone after what happened. The don decides that they will go to the Caribbean. While they're gone he has some people looking into the microchip they found in the wallet of the guest.
While in the Caribbean he has her do a couple of jobs for him. One is during another gala at the hotel that the two are staying at, he wants her to get a key from a German who’s at the party. After she gets the key she goes to try to find the don but before she finds him, there are two men looking for the couple, she makes sure that they don’t spot the don. She goes back to their room but when she gets there she spots one of the guards dead, she starts running away from the room when she’s grabbed by the guest that she stole from at the don’s house. The guest takes her to the beach, soon after the don finds them, shortly after a guy from the thief’s past comes to them. At the end the don and the thief leave and the next day she takes the key and goes to the room that it goes to get the information the don wants before slipping the key back into the German’s pocket.
They leave the Caribbean and go to the French Riviera. The don has another job for her to do, he wants her to steal a classic car from the guest villa. She steals the car but not the way he wants her to, she drives it to the don’s villa and when he starts on her she runs off to the beach. He follows her; they hold each other, kiss and have sex on the beach.
They go to a museum, she’s all dressed up and they meet the guest as well as his boss, the lady is a head of the Russian mafia. The lady wants the thief to steal something for her and the thief agrees to do it as long as the Russian doesn’t go after her or the don.
The couple as well as a couple of his men go to Russia. She goes to do the job when the guest grabs her while she’s out on a balcony, he hurts her both mentally as well as physically. The guest gives her twenty minutes before he tells the owner what she’s really there for. So she does the job for the Russian mafia lady. Before they leave Russia the don has his men grab the guest, the don wants to kill him but he doesn’t he gives the guest twenty minutes to go to get help but when they leave the cold area before the woods they find the guest dead, frozen stiff. When they get back to the place they are staying the don checks her out, he also makes her a bath.
They go back to meet the Russian but that night after he goes back to bed she takes the jewels that she stole for the Russian, gets her things and leaves. She makes her way to South America in a village close to the jungle close to the ocean on the beach. She’s scared, she knows they will kill her for betraying them. Even though she’s in love with the don, she knew that sooner or later he wouldn’t want her anymore so she left. She has sold everything but the jewels and has never used the don’s card that she took with her but she winds up using it to get a couple of drinks.
The don’s livid about her leaving. The Russian is in his office sitting in the don’s chair, the lady wants him to find her, get the jewels back and kill her. The don has his men looking for her. But he looks for her as well, when he finds out about her using the card he goes there. The don has been watching her for a while.
The thief walks into her dwelling, he can tell he’s there. The couple tell each other everything that they have been holding back. They both confess their love for one another. The don takes her to the bedroom and they make love.
The don meets with the Russian, he gives her the jewels. The Russian doesn’t like that the thief is still alive as well as the guest who she got her funding from. The don won’t kill the thief since the two got married.
They go back to the Caribbean. The couple lay and make love on the beach. They have a fire that keeps their love going.

More Trouble Than She’s Worth
FMC Rose is a thief that started out with such strong potential and then about 20 pages in her personality does a complete 180 and she becomes this bumbling foolish damsel-in-distress.The whole contract fiancé scenario never made any sense because frankly the “bad guys” just went after her anyway. She was more of a liability and a nuisance than she was helpful.

I enjoyed this book. It is well-written, the story is unique, and the characters not only have chemistry, but they’re interesting.

Good Read
Kinda different starting out. It ended up being a good book. Liked Rose kinda wish he let her know some of his past, but it could be why he was so mysterious. I'm glad they were able to find the truth of each other.
