A week devoid of power witnesses the emergence of gangs, escalating hunger, and a country thrown into disarray...When a catastrophic storm engulfs Deer Creek, chaos reigns. Beth, wrongfully imprisoned, must battle her way through a dark, post-EMP world alongside fellow inmate Emily. Amidst the lawlessness, they desperately fight to reunite with their families at Deer Creek Homestead. Together, they restore hope, build alliances, and bravely defend their community, proving that unity and resilience can triumph even in the face of unimaginable odds.
This is a great story idea that is different from the usual storylines. However it needed a proofreader badly. For example, in the first story, the repeated use of the word centuries in place of the word sentries stopped the flow of the story while I stopped reading to make sense of the sentence. Otherwise you are a very good wordsmith.
Was this truly written by a human being? It reads to me as though vomited out by artificial intelligence at the behest of someone's asinine prompt. Staccato sentences make it painful to read. Repetitive dialogue. Disjointed plot. Numerous grammatical and spelling errors! Buyer beware!!
The stories written in this box set were really very good. But! There were so many errors that it distracted from reading the book. Fire the person doing the editing!
Each of these three story are from different locations but each show the desire for.survival and to be with family. Each is a reason for hope if we ever face an EMP.
Following the plot of this book covered all the themes of apocalyptic fiction with a few twists and a great deal of skill. Editing could have been better.
Found myself locked into living with these people, spellbound by the flowing description of each move kept me mesmerized! I have read a lot but never before experienced the depth of what this writer has captured in print!!!
If appears that the dialog has been either AI generated, or produced by a very inexperienced writer. There are serious logical holes and trite phrases throughout. The authors definitely need a good editor to rework these stories.
